7:05 I was 16 when I went alone with my friends to a metal concert. At one point I got separated from them and a moshpit was about to start. Now, me a girl 1.65m and 47kg and fecking scared of being mushed. I tried getting out before it erupts and the others were so awesome. I felt people's hands on me carefully navigating me to the side. As soon as I was out I hear a loud "now! Let's go!" and I realised everyone waited until I'm "out of the way" as it disolved people pushed me kindly again towards the middle. I told it my mum the next day who was ok with me liking metal but was still worried. Needless to say she got a new kind of respect for metal heads.

As someone who listens to ACTUAL emo and screamo (i.e. Sunny Day Real Estate, Julia, Brand New, Cap'n Jazz, I Hate Myself, Saetia, iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook, The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Touché Amoré), it gets a little hard to get into at first. But it's an acquired taste.

Why do non-metalheads think metal music has to do with something aggressive or violent? I mean some bands and music can have some aggression and violence involved. I mean it's some good music to listen to if you're bored, need to cheer yourself up, or just need some energy.

7:05 I was 16 when I went alone with my friends to a metal concert. At one point I got separated from them and a moshpit was about to start. Now, me a girl 1.65m and 47kg and fecking scared of being mushed. I tried getting out before it erupts and the others were so awesome. I felt people's hands on me carefully navigating me to the side. As soon as I was out I hear a loud "now! Let's go!" and I realised everyone waited until I'm "out of the way" as it disolved people pushed me kindly again towards the middle. I told it my mum the next day who was ok with me liking metal but was still worried. Needless to say she got a new kind of respect for metal heads.

I'm now 42 and am taking my 17 daughter to see Disturbed again, and my mom's coming along 🤣 It's a pretty long phase, mom. My daughter can belt out some Slayer and Sabbath and thinks that girls who listen to Katy Perry need Jesus. 🤘🏼 (Also I convinced my mom to let me go see Megadeth when I was 16, only thing was she had to come with me.
