A huge loss to the entire world cinema. Kim was a true visionary and one of the most sensible artists of all time. Please remove the ending part of the video.
The 'scholar' is really annoying. Kindly, kick him out of this video.

@성이름 That was an accusation and not proven to be true but even if it was true it doesn't mean his films aren't great. Great art can be made by terrible people.

It is heartbreaking to know that Kim is no longer with us, his films have made a profound impact on me. I find the opinion of this "expert'' at the end just so shallow and missing understanding, and I feel it is a bit of a disrespect to the great work of Kim Ki-duk having half the video about that

The 'scholar' is a gronk. He can't see past his emotions.
Kim Ki Duk was not afraid to tap into the deepest, darkest depths of the human condition. That is what makes him one of the most powerful filmmakers in history. His expression of these 'strong' themes is to present to the audience of how dark a human can be in this reality. The way I see it, as an audience, we should feel appalled by the actions presented in his films, and with this emotional reaction, we know NOT to do such and to also NOT encourage anything that may lead to such actions. It's purpose is to remind us that these appalling actions exist in our world. Like Carl Jung says, we must not suppress our shadow, but to acknowledge and grow from it. The human race is a macrocosmic reflection of the human mind.
    Think.
    RIP Kim Ki Duk

Exactly. Inviting that fellow to talk about Kim Ki Duk was the ultimate travesty. Kim's works were transcendental, reverberating beyond the mundane world, so you can't just expect any random film critic to have what it takes in order to appreciate Kim's works at their true value. You have one of the most brilliant directors of all time, the master who gifted us some of the world's most extraordinary, most poetic and most sublime cinema, and all this guy can ramble about is misogyny and the Me Too movement. That's the type of person who after watching a film like Spring Summer Fall Winter And Spring, the only thing that would occur to him would be animal abuse. How can we possibly expect people like this to have their entire beings shaken to the core by Kim's cinema, when these folks are so deeply anchored in the mundane world? And don't even get me started with the whole "we can't separate the art from the artist" nonsense. So if tomorrow we find out that Mozart was a rapist or a serial killer, should we stop listening to Mozart's music? This was such a wasted opportunity to honour the memory of a genius filmmaker.

@@f8talfury He clearly doesn't understand film art and lacks perspective. As I mentioned, his emotions has clouded his ability to truly understand works for what it is.

Why did she interview this man? He has nothing interesting to say............ Kim Ki Duk is my favourite film maker of all time. I enjoy films that challenge me intellectually and emotionally and his films definitely do that. Also, no mention of Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring, one of the most beautiful films ever made! It was only recently that I learned that he had passed. I'm devastated. R.I.P Kim Ki Duk.

The guy who talked about Kim on this show just wants to see the world out of a western perspective, but he has forgotten that the reality of the world, especially Asian countries, is not what he thought of the world. Whether he likes it or not, in Asian countries and primarily Middle East countries, they don't treat women well, and there is enormous discrimination in that regard. So Kim Ki Duk did not intend to force his own view, but rather quite the opposite; He wanted to depict what really exists in those countries without compromising anything.
