Having the wrong equipment makes it much harder. You have to think about the whole thing from the reel, rod, line and lure as a system working together. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, 100%, and fishing gets expensive when you go over to topwater baits and soft plastic. One might get you close but not all the way. I run a 7 ft med fast rod 7 6 med hvy fast 6 6 med fast all spinning reels though id go bait caster but to invest $$$ and as I fish from piers 90% of the time I can't see a point in investing. Oh, I also have an 8 ft jigging world custom surf rod med light. That is my lure rod light, great action with a 70/30 split with a Shimano Spheros SW 5000
I’ve been able to do the walk very well, they bite the lure and goes under water. But barely getting hook ups. Advice on how to set the hook? as mentioned it will go under water for like a second but doesn’t hook up.
Absolutely! Just try to keep your rod tip close to the surface of the water so you're pulling it forward rather than up and you'll get the same resutls.
Thank you.
That's the best teaching walking video I've seen

Try replacing the treble hooks or wait a second or 2 longer before setting hook
Question: Would this work from shore? Not all of us have a boat.
Yes it will
Thanks for asking! Absolutely it will. I land base fish and wade often using these lures.
Heck yeah! Caught a nice 23” red the other weekend casting from shore using a pink and silver top pup jr
yeah, I do it from a pier also it is all in the technique.

Not all people understand lures bud. Some people don’t even have the right rod to be able to walk the dog properly.
