That is exactly the type of videos I need! To actually see what you're talking about (cadence, slack line, hookset) on a certain technique is key to people like me trying to learn new ways to catch feesh. Thank you!

Great video bud! Definitely a step up from a lot of your vids in recent memory. A lot of work I’m sure but the polish on this video definitely got me fired up to finally try some walking baits that I keep sitting on when I’m out on the water!

Hi Debo! First of all, Thank You for all of the great content. I've been going back and watching / rewatching a ton of your videos. In this particular video you asked people to comment if they wanted more educational / how-to videos. YES PLEASE! You do a better job of explaining things than anyone else I've found on UA-cam and typically better than the pros, too. Keep up the great work. Please teach me more!!

Love the "how to" viDEBOs. It was your channel & Flukemaster that I leaned heavily on two years ago when I got back into fishing after about 15 years away. Very thankful for you guys, and others, for putting out your content to help people learn techniques, gear, maintenance, etc.

A top water walker has been one of my most productive baits this year. I wouldn't have even considered throwing one if it weren't for your Monsterbass box. Great tip on cadence in deeper water. Ill definitely have to keep that in mind. I absolutely love these technique breakdowns. Keep up the great work fella!

Thanks so much! You are a good teacher. This was helpful to get me set up to properly fish topwater baits. Slowly working my way through different baits to catch fish while watching your videos: swim jig, topwater popper, shakey head, ned rig, spinner bait, live worms and bobber (have you done this?), crankbait, Texas rigged worm/creature, and now hopefully a topwater bait like the sexy dawg!

Yes. Absolutely do more vids like this. 👍🏼
In this one you pointed out that you do not tie directly, but always use a split ring. Cool.
What is the reason for this?
Does that improve the walking action? Or are there other reasons?
    Thanks.

I really appreciate this kind of videos. The comparison with drumsticks was a highlight! It's so hard as a newbie to understand, how to move rods and lures... Everyone nows, how to drum!
I heard so many times, if I use a BC, I have to swing it like a tennis racket. WhoTF is used to play tennis in the first place?!? The average angler isn't. That's for sure!
For reasons like that I love your videos. You have a great way to find words for teaching noobs like me. 🙂
Problem is, as a beginner you has to learn all of it at once, on a propper level. If you don't, you're not gonna catch anything. Therefor you don't learn anything about right and wrong. You can do everything right and one detail wrong and have no succes at all, never knowing, what was the reason for failing the whole time... :oP
    Thx a lot!

I’ve caught more 5 plus pounders on a one knocker spook then I have on any other lure. Walking baits and topwater in general are my favorite way to catch them with the Chatterbait a close second. It’s really easy to walk the bait. The hardest part for me when I was learning was learning how to pick up the slack while walking it. I used to just walk it forward as far as I could, pick up all the slack line and repeat lol. Still got bites doing that, but much better results picking up the slack as you walk it. I like to experiment with different cadences( fast short twitches, slow wide glides, etc.) until I find what they want that day and then stick with that.

Dig this video my fishing lives and dies by the top water bite. I was taught years ago ( 1970s ) how to fish top water and never Looked back. It’s is such a important technique (top water ) that ever angler should have some skill fishing with them. Your right about the Yo Zuri walking baits great back for the $$ I do run the KVDs and Heddons too. Some of my Heddons are 40 plus years old. Color is important , but I’m not a Bone guy. I do much better with White . I dig your vids when your just being Debo and you come across well to the beginners in Bassing. FYI .. your right about the top water rods.
