As a hairdresser I’m here to tell you whether you wash PINK HAIR in a cup of Ajax dish soap or in a cup of pureology shampoo both will run pink! SEMI and DEMI permanent dyes especially those of fashion colors will ALWAYS run ! Especially a freshly done color that was washed 5 days prior.. the ultimate test would be to do a glaze on the hair of Redken Shades EQ and test it that way...
This is a FANTASTIC video! Worth so much more than a beauty blogger "my top 10 faves!" video. Would love to see more videos from your channel, specifically a conditioner version of this product test! Thank you for making quality content! Subscribed! Can't wait for more. :)
Bed head is actually a professional line. Same with pureology, unfortunately a lot of pro brands end up in drugstores and such but are usually marked up at a higher price then in salon and they don’t carry the same guarantee that they would if bought from a professional hair stylist
Hema S I assure you Wella Brilliance is by far the best color shampoo out there and it smells amazing. I’m sure you see how red my hair is, it keeps my color hue bright shiny and healthy. It’s a lot cheaper then Pureology, in fact I just bought huge bottles of the shampoo and conditioner at Ulta and they are significantly less than other color brands like Aveda. I use to only use Aveda until I figured out what I was using was not worth the money. I never use drugstore brand haircare. I’ve tried Bedhead and it’s horrible but that’s my personal opinion. The small bottle of Wella is 16.50 and the conditioner is the same. It’s worth it but I would buy the big bottles it will last you forever.
The bestest so far .. I just removed Wella from cart and put Angel deep sea. But suddenly I thought of watching reviews video. And thanks to you. I'm gonna undo the Wella in my cart 🎉
Wow impressive…. precise, scientific, concise, factual and to the point. thank you so much for not ranting and raving and getting emotional like the other UA-camrs on which I learned nothing. subscribed.
Thanks! This really helped me decide which shampoo to purchase. I was overwhelmed with all the information and mixed reviews online. But I've made up my mind -- I'm going with Wella!
This channel only has one video?? And that's also 3 years ago, Why?? This was so informative 👏 I wish you start uploading again! Of course if you want to.. no pressure 😊
TIGI aka Bed Head is not a drug store brand. I was an educator working for the brand whilst in the UK. Sadly when salons close down, large chain store buy what’s left over from these places which is why you’ll only see small amounts of the brands products being sold there. TIGI is an awesome brand which I still use on my clients.
I'm British too :) have you ever used L'Oréal Vitamino Color on clients ? I use it for my colour to stop fade and is the only one that's made any difference for me
It’s 5yrs later and I’m guessing the affordability has not improved due this darn inflation Hopefully you were able to make it through the great years and you have no setbacks 😊😊
This video was awesome. Not able to find my current brand in the store I usually purchase it but now I am going to try one of the top performing brands from this video. Thank you for doing this experiment! Greatly appreciated
Best video ever. The best part it they review so many brands that you will find ones available in your country. Thank you so much. Specially because i have that exact same colour on my hair
I use the loreal color vibrancy shampoo and conditioner and it literally is amazing!! Brings shine to my hair and keeps it vibrant. I was using redken before and this is way better!! Sorry to say but I think shampoos that have sulfates in it are better! Keeps your hair more clean and color sticked in.
WOW! This was executed amazingly🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 👏👏👏👏👏 My perfect timing, after parking at the front of the store, I checked to see what's the best hair conditioner for my colored hair and BANG this video showed up, so now I am confident to go grab my hair shampoo and conditioner. Hoping it's going to work better for my hair now, because all the hair shampoos I've used didn't gave the best result👎🏻.. so thank you 💕
I use 'Suave Professionals Men' 2 in 1 alpine fresh shampoo + conditioner. It cleans and conditions all in one step, as well as protects VERY well my dyed hair!
Thank you so much for this. I saw another video like this on Facebook and they used a professional shampoo but didn't keep it in as long as the drug store.
If you go to the drugstore and grab a salon brand such as paul Mitchell turn the bottle around and read the bold print. It actually tells you not to purchase it from a drugstore because it’s probably fake or tampered with....
Looking at reviews, sadly, Wella dries out hair a lot making very frizzy. Prology reviews show many getting itchy and rashy scalps. Want my copper dark auburn dyed hair to last as long as possible, however my curly thick hair is already a battle with frizzies , and have sensitive skin...so I will buy Bed Head. Do very much appreciate this video!! Hairdresser yesterday kept telling me to get Aveda...hahaha...not in the running here. Glad I saved my money.
Diane Vitale You also have to be careful with online reviews because some products are filled with cheap imitations and not the real deal. Always better to try these products when purchased from salons or beauty supply stores that have a salon in them. Many we’ll know professional brands only allow beauty supply stores to sell their products if they are a salon. When you see these products at Walgreens or rite aid it’s referred to as diversion and is illegal.
Bed Head is not a Drug Store brand. My current stylist and my last stylist both recommended Bed Head for my hair; it is a low-end salon brand, it works amazingly on my fantasy coloured hair, it keeps my colour longer than the matrix colour shampoo and the price is better.
i thought that you should use shampoos without sulfates for colour treated hair, so how come the wella invigo brilliance worked the best when it has sulfates in it?
i think the formula changed since this video was made, so maybe the old one didn’t have sulfates? although that’s a weird direction to go in, so they might’ve just had other ingredients in the shampoo that made up for the sulfates
This was actually a rumour. Sulfates make no difference to colour protection. UV filters as well as it being hydrophobic is what truly makes a difference.
The problem when it comes to drugstore shampoo is that theres so many additional ingredients that are damaging to the long run. For example, in pantene, theres wax and it coats your hair. It makes color services super difficult and it strips the natural oils off. So when your stylist uses a clarifying shampoo to get all that crap off it makes it seem like theyre the bad guy because your hair feels all dry and rough. But the big thing is that a lot of drugstore products causes adverse reactions to professional product.
Natalie Tietz Anything with a silicone in a conditioner does that which unfortunately is the majority of those brands not just Pantene. They got a bad rep for it, but all of those brands contain the same coating.
Silicone isn't bad, it's just most people aren't cleansing their hair properly anymore because they're afraid of the stripping feeling of a proper shampoo so they using those gentle cleansers that barely lift any dirt or product build up off your scalp and hair and keep piling more product on, a hairdresser knows that any treatment they want to do should start on very clean hair or your just not in control of the results.
Ok random question...can you use a leave in conditioner as a hair mask? Applying a generous amount leaving it on your hair for awhile (30m or a couple hours) and then rinsing it out? I have a product I don't like the smell of so don't want to use it as a leave in treatment but want to use it up since I can't return it.
Can u number the most important major shampoo for red hair? I'm ready buy the Tresemme 🤔, because I didn't have the much money to buy the Joico, but this shampoo is just temporally, but I can try to not wash as much
It would have been nice to see the before and after cups in front of a color other than white, you cant see the thickness of the white before hand, and if it was really white it would take more red to change the color of the water so this test is kind of wonky. Also did no one else notice that nexxus & paul mitchell stripped noticeably less than pureology?
Loved Fekkai when I used to color my hair. It smelled amazing I wasn't a big fan of the Paul Mitchell color shampoo smell. But since I don't color my hair anymore but I love PM original one shampoo and the leave in conditioner.
Can’t believe Pureology was second for color it never worked for my dye it faded so much. I think it’s one of the worst products out there. My hair was not smooth in the slightest it was so dry & so was my scalp.
Sweet Serenity I was recommended for it when I was dying my hair from a salon shop I was so mad on the money I wasted the worst results ever drugstore brands worked better then that.
I'm going to be that weirdo that he's the kind if guy that can turn a girl's head. Very good looking. Love his voice too Thank you for the video very informative

So Bed Head was the best performing drug store brand tested. Great experiment! Thanks!
I love, love, love Arganlife Shampoo . My hair stopped breaking & I can see new growth. My hair is also getting thicker. My hair looks amazing.
I think pureology is sold in drug stores also
Bed head is actually a professional line. Same with pureology, unfortunately a lot of pro brands end up in drugstores and such but are usually marked up at a higher price then in salon and they don’t carry the same guarantee that they would if bought from a professional hair stylist
Wella and bed head are the same price minus one or two dollars and they’re all sold at ulta, where they’re commonly buy 2 get one free.
Sad that the Wella is discontinued and impossible to find anymore! Would love a 2021-updated redo of this test!
It’s sill at ulta store
I wish they would have also included the worst the one that rated last place that would have made it a little more interesting and informative
Go to the website. There’s a link

Glad it was helpful!
This is very helpful. There’s so many brands out there to choose from, and there’s so many that damage and strip your hair. This was awesome. Thanks.
I've been using salon selectives marula magic from the dollar tree and it has worked great on my hair
The bestest so far .. I just removed Wella from cart and put Angel deep sea.

Thank you!
Shea moisture is amazing at not stripping color and hydrating your hair
Bailey Madison I love the Shea Moisture line!
Whaaat they have that??
Thanks! This really helped me decide which shampoo to purchase. I was overwhelmed with all the information and mixed reviews online. But I've made up my mind -- I'm going with Wella!

Me too. I took screen shots to try to look.

Hopefully you were able to make it through the great years and you have no setbacks 😊😊
While it's good that the color didnt get stripped how does the hair feel after the use of this product would have been better.
Wow u should do an updated video like this because this was perfectly done
The best Brand to buy: Keratase, Wella and Bed Head to preserve hair color longer.
I hv been using wella professionals fr last 2 yrs since 2017.. it helps getting hair texture better too.. will recommend fr sure
