I loved the street ace/mood boot because they had a casual style but all the protection you'd want. Disappointed to see this new gen is not as reinforced.
@@musguelha14 on the website they state reinforced toe. What do you mean by they don't? I went and felt a few of them today. They definitely feel hard like a reinforced composite toe.
So, those all black ones. What other shoes have a similar design? The price tag isn’t exactly friendly. If this best bang for the buck I will save a little more. Or if there’s something similar for cheaper, please lmk
The toe is reinforced from the sole itself, but not on top of the toe box where most riders would benefit from it. You can see Spurgeon push in on the toe box during the video with nearly no resistance.
I love how every new iteration of motorcycle gear is getting shittier than its predecessor, but with the same or higher price tag. Yet for some reason every review ends with, "love where they're going with this". Spurge, if you love these downgrades so much, go get a Vans. It's half the price. Seriously why are these videos still called reviews? Have some decency and change it to ads.
We film the products when they get launched and release the video once it passes through edit. Since the video will live for 5+ years we try to get the information out there as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we don't have control on how backed up factories and shipping are during the pandemic, which is cause for 80% of product delays across the entire market. We'd rather just get the information out there to help everyone make decisions on their purchases and potential future purchases. But hey, can't please them all.
@@Vjekoslav-vf3hr I'm OK with providing people as much product knowledge as I can. Would you ask the same question to those that review bikes/cars 6-12 months before they are available? If you have money for one thing other than a helmet, get a jacket. I crashed when I first started riding. Feet were fine, but I had road rash because I was wearing a hoodie. I also messed my palms up because I had cheap fox racing gloves on.
@@olddudeonaducati3153 I'd agree with this sentiment. Any protection isn't a luxury item. But keep in mind, this style of shoe is more on the casual side of the protection spectrum. So it will offer some niceties and protection but while not being as aggressive as something with a full ankle brace like the Alpinestars SMX-6 v2 Boots. Do you have wider feet to begin with? Because TCX is known for having a wider than average width especially in their casual shoes. If you have wider feet already, your recommendation would make sense. But compared to your average footbed, they run wider for sure.
Narrow side? Bullshit. My feet are wide as fuck, 10.5. Had the street ace size 10, it's more comfortable than any normal street shoe I ever had. Its predecessor was even wider, my feet were basically flapping around in them. If you find TCX narrow you have a fucking camel’s foot.

These shoes are by far the best I've tried on and now own. They fit perfectly to my feet. I've got wide feet, and these shoes fit just right.
Man, i like the style so much I'd want to wear them just as a casual everyday shoe. LOL!

what, no toe protection? that should be the main thing to look for in a riding boot. Does it have a heel protection or not either?
It does have a reinforced toe. Just check websites. Has the zplate sole too.

0:48 thats a Benelli TNT 300, isn't it? Sickest sounding bike in the 250-650cc category.
Might be one of the most fun bikes we have in our office to ride in Philly. Surprisingly fun.
Cfmoto 450nk rips that sound.
If you want to rock that Vans squid look, but with less squid. I'm into it.
the web store says it does have toe reinforcement but here in the video he says it doesnt ? im confused, which one is it then ??

First time riders should not consider luxury items but instead think protection from head to toe..

TCX shoes are great. They are on the narrow side though, consider going a half size bigger.
Do you have wider feet to begin with? Because TCX is known for having a wider than average width especially in their casual shoes. If you have wider feet already, your recommendation would make sense. But compared to your average footbed, they run wider for sure.
I definitely wouldn't call them narrow. I've got wide feet and TCX is one of the few brands I can wear that fit me comfortably.

TCX narrow? In the Street Ace there's so much volume inside the boot that I would say they run large. A full size
I double knot my boots for safety.
Please address width!
