I usually include Kontrol Freek compatibility in the thumb stick section of my reviews. It was left out of the snakebyte review. All of them are very tight, Xbox won’t fit at all without damage, however PlayStation and switch will fit securely with a little force.
Had this controller for about half a month now, and it's by far the best high quality budget controller I've ever used. Like I seriously don't see myself needing a new competitive controller for awhile unless I want to upgrade to a 4 paddle controller. There's just not a lot of budget controllers that offers hall-effect sticks and triggers along with triggers stops to boot besides this one. So I highly recommend it to anyone else here!
@yehorshanditsev9626 I personally think the gamesir g7 is so much better and it 45 dollars, has its own software to map any button to anything, hall effects and it may not have trigger stops but it has a trigger stop functionality on the software. This controller doesn't sound bad but the g7 is so good. If it was 4 paddles it would be the perfect controller

If not having 4 back buttons is a deal breaker for you then this controller is not for you. But if you only use 2 back buttons...dont even hesitate just buy this thing and you will not regret it
I would imagine this is on sale already for some U.S. exposure. Nobody in the U.S. knows about Snakebyte! Was waiting for you to review this one, wanted to see your stick and response tests. This controller is a bargain for $60. Love it. One thing i have noticed after about 2 months is the right trigger stop has gotten "mushier" at first it felt nice and clicky. Might be wearing in a bit... Thats a bad thing
One other thing I love about this controller is the DAC. I'm not sure if you usually test this, but i use wired headset. this thing gets quite a bit louder than the standard pad - using ATH-GDL3 @@GamerHeavenOfficial
Hey first off I just want to say I love your controller reviews! Keep up the good work! Now.... I bought this controller and I love it! I bought it right after I watched this review. However within the first 3 days it quit working. It was as if it didn't recognize it was plugged in. Unplugged, replugged, tried different cord, different USB port on Xbox. No problem it happens, I sent it back to Amazon and got another one. It's been great for about 3 weeks.... Now same exact issue 😢. This controller is awesome but I think I'm just going to request a refund. I hope nobody else has this issue. Just wanted to share my experience.
2 Back buttons is a great entry into pro controllers. I thought they were stupid back in the Halo 3 days when diy was the only choice and the melee button was all the rage. My 8bitdo pro2 controller won me over but I like L3 and R3.. I know I'm a weirdo but I prefer my run button not interfere with my aiming. Plus outside of Shooters it comes in more handy than you think.
Lol I thought I was the only one XD haha I also play Halo with running and squatting tied to the rear buttons. I currently use the 8bit Do Ultimate and it is my favorite Xbox conroller so far.
@@christianmcallister2829 For me the tension on the 8BitDo Ultimate wired controller feels perfect. I would say a bit more tension than on the stock series x controller. And even though that : smoother action. I play a lot of Halo when I have the time and with this controller I easily get 50-60 % (sometimes up to 75%) aiming accuracy meaning how well did I hit the target. The sticks are super precise and I it performs better than the series x controller. But like I think GamerHeaven has mentioned : the sticks are very similar to PS4 sticks with their shape and texture. Concave and dome shaped at the same time. I do not know about the Pro 2 but I have mingled with the idea of getting myself one as I really freaking love 8BitDo.

I Super glue small plastic pieces to the inside of the triggers (broken plastic fork pieces) so that they can't push all the way down. Might sound ghetto but it works great @@rangerblue

Okay next update considering my two faulty controllers: It's actually the cables that are trash. When using my phone charging cable or my dualsense cable, the controllers work without any disconnects, even if wiggle them until I can wiggle no more. Change back to the Snakebyte cables, I get disconnects on the slightest movements.

I still suggest the Rainbow 2 Pro as it is the same price and wireless (though with xbox and PS you have to use a VERY simple workaround), with an extra 4 buttons - 2 back and 2 on top like the Razer controllers. It’s become my preferred controller for FPS.

I would like for the audio buttons to not only be tied to the 3,5mm jack, but to regulate the system volume itself. My audio devices are not connected to the controller, they're connected to the system.

Great review! But, given how thorough and detail-oriented you are, I'm surprised you didn't mention details about the thumbstick base material and whether it's plastic or metal. From what I can see, it's plastic, and this is my main gripe. For the Gamesir G7 SE, I found that the plastic-on-plastic of the thumbstick rubbing on the friction ring produced an annoying creak so I switched out the thumbstick bases with a metal pair from my old Xbox Elite controller. Unfortunately, as I learned after a few sessions, I don't get full range with those sticks. If I'm sprinting next to someone in multiplayer, they run ever-so-slightly faster than me. My question is, do you think it would be possible to do the same mod to the Snakebyte and still maintain the same range of motion? I know ya got the parts to test, but do ya have the time? If so, I would greatly appreciate it!
There is only a handful of controllers that have metal base thumbsticks, none that are $80 or cheaper. Thats not a common feature and if it’s present I will of course mention it. This controller is plastic like %95 of them.
Xbox series x controller actually has the best d-pad for fighting games and then unfortunately the trash controller of the Razer chroma 2 has the 2nd best d-pad, and that’s it. Obviously a fighting stick or hitbox is the end game.
so its similar to Gamesir G7 SE. Its both wired controller with 2 back button in which you can remap (G7 SE using Nexus App), Hall Effect thumbstick, anti-friction ring, even same design for the ABXY button (virtually and mechanically) and free xbox gamepass. Only different is that G7 SE are: 1.) has a PC App you can configure the controller to your liking 2.) have replaceable faceplate where you can easily replace the analog thumbstick with any analog thumbstick of your liking. (I replace mine with a Xbox one S); and 3.) 1000hz polling rate (which apparently matters to competitive players) Seems to me Gamesir G7 SE is quite a better option. How I wish G7 SE has a Wireless variant.

They are honestly about a draw in my book. Both good wired Hall effect Xbox pro controllers under $80. Like you said perhaps pick up both so you can compare them yourself, but if you really only want to get one I would say the snake bite has it

I would say that this is a premium controller too, cuz of all the functions it has, but for almost half the price of other premium rollers. Therefore he called it „budget“
After 2 months, mine loses connection all the time, most probably a loose connection on the USB C socket. (I never bend the cable, so I didn't strain it) Seems those 5 years warranty will never be needed. Until then it was really great to use though.
Yo i have a question i bought the 40 dollar version from snakebyte which do not have paddles. Imo the Sticks are feeling a little cheap but my main Problem comes to recoil. If i spray on r6 and control my recoil the gun is jumping kinda down and its really annoying. Has anyone the same Problem? Im general i like the Controller but the sticks somehow not very smooth hope someone can help !
I´ve had both, victrix had jitter issues on the sticks, got a second one via warranty same issue+ got stick drift within a month did a complete refund.(victrix support took FOREVER and I mean months to reply so I got the refund via the local reseller instead). Felt very plastic and the smooth plastic on the back was unpleasant. Like greasy tupperware. Snakebyte pro X I have now, it feels a LOT nicer to hold and use IMO. It´s among the most comfortable controllers I´ve ever used. Sticks a bit longer than reg but it´s good once u used to it. Decent function set. Straight forward. So far no isses. According to S-byte support their warranty will cover even wear and tear issues on buttons like the springs in r2 wearing out etc so as long as they honor that, it´s a bargain.
Oof. Thinking the Xbox pads are good ergonomics is going to be a warning sign for me. Clearly your hands and wrists are messed up, and I'm going to need to look for controllers you find uncomfortable. 😏
@@GamerHeavenOfficialplay a Fps game and you'll realize it does. I play apex and it feels so stiff, you can't do small adjustments because you have to move the joystick so far before it even registers.
This thing is a complete industrial waste. After only two days of use the LT and RT buttons don't work and the wires are completely unresponsive. just save your money and don't touch it.
5 year warranty ? They won´t honor your warranty? I have one, works great used it for a few months, feels very nice. Though I only picked it up because the really long warranty so if they don´t honor that I´ll be mad.

I’ve never seen a Controller do that, other than PS5 controllers where you hold down the mute button and it mutes your entire system sounds

Use scuf instinct thumbstick, they fit it and you have 100% range on your G7 se.
Can you do like a best gamepads for fighting games? Like focusing on the D-pads

Im super new the 3rd oarty contiller thing for modern consoles..so a non wireless controller that cost more than the official wireless controller is considered budget? So what does a premium controller cost?
I would say that this is a premium controller too, cuz of all the functions it has, but for almost half the price of other premium rollers. Therefore he called it „budget“
After 2 months, mine loses connection all the time, most probably a loose connection on the USB C socket. (I never bend the cable, so I didn't strain it)
Seems those 5 years warranty will never be needed.
Until then it was really great to use though.
Update: I had bought two of these, now the second one started doing the same thing...
Yo i have a question i bought the 40 dollar version from snakebyte which do not have paddles.
Imo the Sticks are feeling a little cheap but my main Problem comes to recoil.
If i spray on r6 and control my recoil the gun is jumping kinda down and its really annoying. Has anyone the same Problem?

I´ve had both, victrix had jitter issues on the sticks, got a second one via warranty same issue+ got stick drift within a month did a complete refund.(victrix support took FOREVER and I mean months to reply so I got the refund via the local reseller instead). Felt very plastic and the smooth plastic on the back was unpleasant. Like greasy tupperware.
Snakebyte pro X I have now, it feels a LOT nicer to hold and use IMO.
It´s among the most comfortable controllers I´ve ever used. Sticks a bit longer than reg but it´s good once u used to it. Decent function set. Straight forward.
So far no isses. According to S-byte support their warranty will cover even wear and tear issues on buttons like the springs in r2 wearing out etc so as long as they honor that, it´s a bargain.
$80 is budget? I guess I live in a different world.

This thing is a complete industrial waste. After only two days of use the LT and RT buttons don't work and the wires are completely unresponsive. just save your money and don't touch it.

I have one, works great used it for a few months, feels very nice. Though I only picked it up because the really long warranty so if they don´t honor that I´ll be mad.
