Maybe they have multiple people on the assembly line and the person installing the GPU is incompetent, where the person installing the USB header is obsessed with making sure nothing gets loose in shipping.
Kinda makes me chuckle. Too many RGB settings, USB-C ports, non powder coated power supply, thin motherboard power wires. The most 1st world non problems review I’ve seen😂
I mean, its' common sense (no offense, genuinely) that a blocked filter won't act as efficient as a clean one, though generally they still offer airflow around the center where the fan is. However, depending on your house/office, you could leave a PC for a couple years and not touch it and you might have no problems, nor notice a thing, because the dust filter is doing it's job. It won't be as efficient and those who pay close attention to temperatures etc will see the difference.
Even with dust filters I feel I have to clean at least twice a year (although it doesn't show in temp). The really fine (talk powder like) stuff still gets in a bit.
I bet so much that walmart employed somebody who knew what they were doing, let them build a good, well balanced PC for the budget, then turned around and went "well with these parts it would be cheaper, and the RGB makes it look even better!" and ruined it, it would explain why there are dodgy parts while still being put together well.
I came to the United States (early 2000) for a visit and wanted to buy some Post Cards (18 Individual Cards) from Walmart. I went to the checkout and the Mexican lady tried to count the cards. She usually got up to four or five in English and then started again. After a few minutes of this repeat exercise, I got frustrated and counted them out for her! She then took them back off me and started to count them out again. I just looked at my wife and laughed and walked out without the cards. A bit rude of me I know, but heh when I employ staff, I make sure that they can speak English and count......……….. the majority of our customers speak English and therefore English is a must for any employee. Where I was in the USA the majority of the customers would have been able to speak and have as a first language English...…...… so a very crazy situation for a person dealing with customers on a till. Most def I would not purchase a Gaming PC from Walmart! lol
You must not be familiar with Dell business practices from the late 90s and early 2000s. All integrators have done this for decades because on paper the machine specs look good but the unlisted components are generally garbage. As an example, I was at a staples and asked what the speed of the RAM in a particular system was. The guy said "says right here it's 16GB DDR4"... That's all they put on the spec list. They don't tell you because it might be single stick, single channel 2400MHz going into your Zen 2 system instead of the appropriate 3200MHz+ dual channels kits on the QVL for the motherboard, if those bargain basement motherboards even have a QVL.
I am guessing that was intended, because the cable managment on other pc side is really good, if you learn how to manage cables that well than i don't see how can you forget to plug in pci-e in 2 PC's
@@eross5420 Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. Worried about static in transit... maybe? And the issues here are familiar to anyone who's worked in the design/engineering dept of a large firm. You have competent people, but you're often absolutely just hobbled by external or bureaucratic considerations - like "no, 1 x 16GB is $0.05c cheaper than 2 x 8GB, and it's the same capacity anyway!" or "This is a 500W PSU, why get a more expensive 450W one?"
It has a better graffix card than mine for sure. And I paid about the same price back then. Maybe a few hundreds less. (Psiiiit... Don't get Alienware machines, they're overpriced).
@FuneeFeed I can assure you mine wasn't, but I trust you they might not all be (overpriced). :) Had I built my rig myself, I would have saved about 400$, and would've got a better CPU by the way. This said, it does perform flawlessly though.
@@EddieOtool They used to be overpriced until Dell purchased them. Though some builds can get expensive outside of the ordinary, but when you go slapping extra hardware in it that's not necessary, but personal preference then yes, they can run almost 10K seeing as if they're using the latest tech. Most brand new CPU/GPU setups for the newest thing on the market will run you about 4K anyways to get it day-one.. I mean hell, an AMD thread-ripper will run you into $2K alone and Intel's Core i7-6950X will run you between $1,400-$1,700. I paid $1,800 for mine that I built myself and it performs flawlessly with any game, video editing, and multi-process and that was 4yrs ago.

You don't get rich by simply selling shoddy merchandise, you get rich by figuring out and giving people the level of quality and cost they want. And it's not easy.
I'm not sure. At least the guy from the verge used the rubber grommets to avoid shorting out the power supply, added extra thermal paste to the amount already included with the cooler to improve temperatures, used the slower PCI-E slot for the graphics card to keep the center of gravity lower and used the guide to place the CPU into the socket. Based on the this video and Bitwit's video, the unplugged GPU is not an isolated incident. And Walmart is supposed to expect employees to set these up in the upcoming in-store E-Sports venues around the country? LOL.
5:45 October 2018, yeah... that was likely when the whole pc was put together 😝 You could probably slap at least a decade onto the age of that motherboard. VGA connector and USB 2 only, shocking! 😆😅 It does look really inconsistent, sort of like a different department did various parts of the build, and only some of those departments had enough time or money to do what they needed to do or something. VERY peculiar, but there's great potential there. I've seen some doozies built by companies like Dell / Alienware where they charge a shit load for a right stinker 🥴
i feel there could be a reason as to why they did that. with heavy graphics cards like that, for shiping, they usually wedge a big chunk of styrofoam under the graphics card to prevent the board from flexing during shiping, not pluging in the graphics card would prompt the consumer to open the case and notice that chunk of styrofoam, which should be remvoed before usage. problem is that, when linus opened the thing, there was no chunk of styrofoam inside, i assume he removed that beforehand but then he should have noticed that the graphics card wasn't plugged in. another issue i see is that the quick start guide did not mention that one should let the systhem sit in the room you're going to use it in for an hour or so to avoide condensation from causing a short.

No dust filter in a pc most buyers will never even open
Dane Berryman clearly doesn’t understand the purpose of a dust filter.....
I don't know about that, this is the second walmart machine where the graphics card not attached lol They'll be opening it up first day :D

They don't tell you because it might be single stick, single channel 2400MHz going into your Zen 2 system instead of the appropriate 3200MHz+ dual channels kits on the QVL for the motherboard, if those bargain basement motherboards even have a QVL.

i feel there could be a reason as to why they did that.
with heavy graphics cards like that, for shiping, they usually wedge a big chunk of styrofoam under the graphics card to prevent the board from flexing during shiping, not pluging in the graphics card would prompt the consumer to open the case and notice that chunk of styrofoam, which should be remvoed before usage.
problem is that, when linus opened the thing, there was no chunk of styrofoam inside, i assume he removed that beforehand but then he should have noticed that the graphics card wasn't plugged in.
another issue i see is that the quick start guide did not mention that one should let the systhem sit in the room you're going to use it in for an hour or so to avoide condensation from causing a short.
there is a bracket fixing the gpu to the case so there is most certainly no foam under the gpu for the user or them to remove
