A 2015 E550 would be a facelift version and it has the newer steering column. You are most likely going to have to change out the switch gear like I did to get the new wheel to work.

But hey, I you are into it that's what matters! Great car by the way!! I will love to see the interior swap as I have been thinking about swapping mine seats as well.
Yeah I agree the silver trim probably won’t be the best option for my car given the exterior color. I would definitely go for black ash if I could find it, might just have it wrapped or might leave it as is. I think the LED lights modernize the interior a bit, and I like the brighter light, goes well with the ambient orange. But you are right, great thing about cars is you can make it your own, always cool to see other ideas as well. The interior swap is tempting me more and more. Thank you. Love the content. I’m awaiting my 12 E550. Looking for some mild mods. Down pipes, exhaust, tune maybe.
@@ryanharte528 I’m thinking some small exhaust mods for a bit more sound and a tune. Gonna get the car on the dyno first.
PLEASE, do NOT ruin the car and replace the wood trim with silver trim... Find a black ash wood trim and replace it with that instead.
To be hones, I am not really huge fan of LED interior bulbs as they are typically in a more cold color range, and with the ambient lights in the W212 in particular (which is very warm in color) I do not think they fit.
AMG seats seem to go for pretty cheap, and I wouldn’t mind having black seats instead of the beige. If I decide to go for it I will definitely do a video. Thanks for watching!
@@bucksgarage Great, can’t wait to see how the car is developing and might steal some ideas hahaha.
Also, have you considered hydro dipping the trim? I have seen some mind blowing results.
@@МартинЛюбенов-е1т steal away, hoping these videos help people work on their own cars.
I hadn’t thought of hydro dipping. I figured out how to get the majority of the trim out of the car today while working on a different project, so I am a lot more motivated to do something with it now. Will have to look into the dipping idea.
Pretty sure we're all in the same boat and have faded wood grain.
It drives me absolutely nuts.. it's getting worse everyday.
I ordered some wood grain rap from Amazon but it was too orangey!
I am going to set notifications and hope to see a video correcting the problem soon.
Thank you for the content
Anyone know where i can get this steering wheel?
Is it not possible to just take the chip out of the old wheel and swap it with new wheel? They’re the same size so should fit……
Just take a the steering wheel and all it components from a vehicle being parted out from a newer year with the same steering wheel like 2013
Like u !
Thanks for watching!
We are not allowed to tint our vehicles that much
I am technically darker than I am supposed to be at 20%, but I haven't had issues so far. I had a BMW done at 5% and that was way too dark, made it too hard to see at night.
Forgot about tax, Ebay Fees and shipping. Forgetting about time, danger (electronics/airbag) and safety. (Airbag actually deploying) Oh....that's correct
...the LABOR. I'm not doing a DIY, that takes a day out if my life. So, to pay someone to do this..is about 500 dollars of labor. So, on a 9000 dollar vehicle, you can fill in the blank. The passion and hobby is a different thing. Don't involve money savings in a hobby video. Switch gear and lane keep assists aside.
Can you sell me your old steering wheel and airbag for a good price
Long gone, sold on eBay. If you want a wood wheel like that, they do come up pretty often on eBay.
Sell me your Benz
haha, I'll be keeping this one for awhile. May go to an S Class some day, but not anytime soon.
It looks so ugly. This steering wheel does not fit with this interior at all, it looks disgusting!!!
Man. Creepin on my channel name.
Haha sorry about that, I’ll have to get after my parents for naming me. :)
