No matter how professional the video is,
I decided not to change my car screen because I saw how difficult it was 😂
I think I can only do the last part to take off the protection film )))
it's a start bro
Amazing work. Clear, comprehensive, good angles + lighting. I work as a professional cameraman and I know these shots aren't easy. Thanks !
Thanks 🙏, much appreciated. Plus the heat is the main issue when filming here .
Well made video hats off
Most comprehensive instructions I've seen for this upgrade, well done.
I never thought it was that complex. Well done
By far the best installation video I have seen for these upgrades ❤
Great video and information. I'm installing the 12.3" Android screen now (NTG4.7). So far so good. Got it all working today. I just need to rerun the wiring and put it back together. Details on removal of glovebox was very helpful as I was struggling to figure out how to run the 2 harnesses up to the display and the USB/Aux cables to the passenger footwell. Thanks!
about to dive in on mine, any others hiccups you ran into that i should look out for? thanks
Where you bought your screen from???
Doe you have a link for your unit friend
@Jordan where did you buy the screen from ?
I need to do the same for my E class Estate W212.
Is it glitchy?
Ikea should have instructions like this😂
Nice work, how you find the time to record this stuff is beyond me 🙌🏼no, you! “da man” 🤙🏼
Great info thank you for taking the time to film it
The screen didnt come with instructions so hopefully this helps others not to waste time figuring out how it goes on.
Hell yeah! Thanks for the video! Can’t wait for mine to come in. This is all pretty easy stuff
You did a great job 👏🏼 I would also like such an upgrade but honestly I don’t think I can do it myself.
Thx 🙏, I do think its a worth upgrade even if you had to get a shop to do it for you.
@@ZakiGarage hey buddy , are you in California?
Very far away from Cali
These plugs clicking is an installers asmr 😂
You did the best job I’ve seen thanks a lot can’t wait to do this to my car
Good work, bit more useful screen then the small original 👌 Notice you have the stitched dashboard 😍
The car is so much more enjoyable to drive now with the new screen 👌. Just noticed the stitching now that you point it out 🤣
@@ZakiGarage Is the stiching dashboard factory made or aftermarket?
@@matejgr.8879 The car came factory from the dealership with the dashboard stitching
@@ZakiGarage thx for reply
The UI on the Apps page looks weird. I saw a more beautiful UI from the other store. Is it just a theme settings? Can you change theme? What’s the sound quality of AUX connection?
Thank you for this
Hats off 😎
Hey man. Great video!!! Do you have any problem on the 09:00 minutes to put the head unit back??? I’m in trouble with this. Can you give some tip??
Yeah putting the head unit back was hard. Pulling the part of the harness that goes to the screen 8:15 all the way out from the glove box side helps. The second issue would be the connecter in 8:05, there is a small opening in the lower left back side of the head unit, you'll have to push the cable down there while trying to put the head unit back in.
Zaki, your recording are very clear on each part, im done this b4 at 2018 using this type of screen until now, the bad thing is the Android can't be updated .
Thx . Yeah, not updating is an issue but so as the factory sys didn't update. But the nice thing if using android auto then its always up to date through the phone.
But like you said Android can't be updated plus screen hardware getting old made me think I'll need to replace the screen every 5 like years like a phone, but been seeing the android boxes that connect to the android screen, might give them a try in the future if I start seeing issues with my old screen.
Crispy work 👌
Good job😍
Great Video. Really appreciate your effort and time. I have two questions.
1. Is the connection to the factory AUX port necessary for all audio outputs or it is just for AUX audio as usual ?
2. The ACC power cable connects from main wiring harness to the LVDS box. So why did you not connect it initially, but within the car ? Is there any other wire to be checked ?
Thx 🙏. 1) Yes, any sound coming out of the andriod screen goes though the factory AUX port.
2) You will need to rout the main harness through tight spaces in the dash, it is a lot harder to rout the harness with the LVDS box attached to it. All the wires needed are shown in the video, I don't think there is anything else to be checked.
How well does the tach and speedometer display work? Does it actually display actual readings on the Android screen as the car is moving?
It works well, I believe it takes the readings from the car directly along with doors, handbrake, AC, seatbelts status info.
Can anyone tell me, what is the problem when I fixed this device into my MB W12 and when it is in, it give a bleeping tone, sounded like a signal tome?
i dont have the adapter after buy the screen not found the iron adapter can u help me pls from where can i buy please 😔
My screen runs so poorly with my iPhone. I even got a 256/8 2023 model.
Any advice?
Note : in runs off aux input, so if you've got a pre 2011 model and don't have the aux boost function. The sound volume level will be crap!
Very true. the sound doesn't get very high with the boost off. There are a lot of adjustability in the sound settings of the android system but don't know if it can improve the sound, I haven't played with it.
How can you find out if you have the boost function?
@@pearlmossberg 2:28 have the source on AUX and see if you get the volume option.
I have a 2010 and it doesn’t have the boost but when I use the aux with my phone now it plays fine. Why would it be different?
Have you seen the instrument cluster on the newer e350 that has the 2 lcd screens? Wondering if they have this avail to upgrade 2014 eE50
Sorry, I haven't seen the newer models. I'm not familiar with them
Anyone have issues with the sound no longer working? It worked when i plugged it in and now the aftermarket and return to oem has no sound
Great video! One quick question do you lose the satellite radio function? Also could those lose wires hanging outside can they be routed to the glove box? what do you need them for? thanks in advance
Thx. I don't have satellite radio so I'm not sure, but all factory functions still work on my unit. Yeah, I think you could route it into the glove box, would guess it will require some drilling into the glove box.
Looked lil a CLA on the screen. Can that be changed to an E class or no?
Your video is very useful. I would like to install this product on my MB w204 equiped with NTG4.0 An AUX port is installed in the glove box. Is there anything to wire from the new unit to the AUX port ? Many thanks.
There is an AUX out cable coming out from the new android screen that needs to go to the AUX in for the car (the factory AUX port in the glove box)
Thank you so much.
Hey Zaki! Do you recommend a 12in or is that too big
I've never seen it in person but it's something I would like to try installing on my car someday
@@ZakiGarage , Thanks for following up. Great video by the way. The angles help ALOT. You should talk a little during install though 😛
How can I get the Mercedes-Benz display on my radio?
Is there an alternative to make a video output, in case you want to connect the monitor to the back?
sorry, don't know how to get that to work
Hello friends, I have one, multimediaI, only now dedicated myself to installing it. everything works perfect, however the screen and resolution to view the car's original system is very large, the camera and other functions are included. However, the input resolution is not matching the new screen. how to fix this? Could you give some guidance? Thank you very much in advance
Thanks)
Does the carplay was included with your Android Screen? And if there was any issue with connecting the rear camera ? :)
Carplay and android auto comes with the screen. For the rear camera you have to go into the screen settings and make sure the rear camera is on factory camera option, the other options in the settings are for aftermarket rear cameras
@@ZakiGarage Oh okay thanks, and i heard there was some " Sound issues " sometimes ? Like, the sound is not working on the Radio, does it's also about settings ?
The way this screen works is that it sends sound to the factory head unit through the AUX. You can easily switch between the factory system and the android screen system. So if you want to use radio you go to the factory system and turn it on. If you want to use the android screen you have to put the factory system on AUX mode and then use the android system.
@@ZakiGarage Gotcha, thank you for your answers, great video btw :)
Hey boss, appreciate the video. dumb question but do I need to disconnect the car battery to carry this out?
Good question actually. I don't know the proper procedure when disconnecting the head unit, I'll have to look that up. But I didn't disconnect the battery during this install.
@@ZakiGarage okay thank you!
Hi! I think I missed a step instaling this because my manual control that is behind gear box doesn't work. Can anyone help me out with this?
Hello, Do you know if engine mounts on W212 220CDI can be replaced both without dismounting the DPF?
hello, I think yes. on me w212 350 cdi it worked
It can, but removing thr dpf is east anyway so i woukdnt worry too much
@Joel anderson Thanks, already done. But have removed the dpf. Now the drive is much smoother.
Hi, thank you for such great video. I recently bought a 2011 E350 and I’m really interested in what you did to your car. I wanted to ask you if you could share with me the link with the right 12” screen for my car. I’ll really appreciate your help! Thanks again bro!
Thx, welcome to w212 life . Unfortunately, the AliExpress store i bought the unit from closed but I linked a similar product in the vid description.
Hi. May I ask. Before installation, we need to adjust the sound to boost. Thanks
Can do it before or after instillation, since you can still access the factory head unit interface in the new android screen.
Hi. is there any installation manual describing each part for installation, I have ordered and received my android 10.25 with many parts and cables it is confusing a lot
Unfortunately this android screen didn't come with a manual, it was confusing to me too in the beginning. Look up "w212 android screen wiring 4.0" and you'll find many wiring descriptions.
Will this work with audio 20 system? Is it same as NTG 4.0
I'm not sure what's an audio 20 system
@@ZakiGarage It's the most barebones system in 09-11, mine doesn't have BT-Audio enabled by default.
Not sure about that system. But I hear some early models don't have the aux outlet and would prevent this screen from working with these cars.
Good job bro. ill this screen fit onto E class 2011 coupe C207 too? ty 4 vid
Thx, usually the screen sellers could tell you if it would fit other MB models.
What do u do if you get stuck on the center panel. It won’t come out
Hey so if I have a factory backup camera, were does it transfer on the android screen? Thanks for the great job
Thx, my car has the factory camera, it still shows up on the android screen whenever I put the car in reverse. But have to go into the android screen settings when first installing it to specify if the car has factory backup camera or aftermarket.
@@ZakiGarage okay thanks point noted.
How wonderful
thanks
What E-Class is this? Mine doesn’t have any stitching on the dash so I’m just wondering :)
Its an E300 2011 but non US spec.
Salut la team c'est possible d'avoir une réponse sur quel site on peut l'acheter pour un Mercedes w212 Classe E site fiable
Is this for the most part applicable to the 4.5 NTG? Especially the fiber optic part.
I haven't looked into 4.5 NTG but I'm assuming its very similar. But I think a difference you'll see is not having the LVDS box 0:50 in the 4.5 NTG.
@@ZakiGarage Thank you for the help!
Hi, do you have any speackers problems? When i call with android screen bluetooth, only left speacker working, you have that ? And when i call with Mercedes bluetooth, only right speacker work… but when i listen the music all speackers work… do you have any solutions? 😅
I don't do a lot of phone calls on the android system but never had your issue. I did have an issue once that the mic wasn't getting my voice but other than that one time it worked fine. No idea why you'll be getting that issue 🤔
i has chnge 10inc. android player when open youtube no sound output pls help me w212
Why did you put it in aux before you started
How is the sound quality through the AUX ? I was actually thinking of installing one on my W212 , but ended up getting one of these Carplay boxes (NTG 4) to retain factory look and because I was worried about the look of the big screen. I am having low sound so am pairing up with the OE bluetooth for better sound until I figure out a solution.
Other than that, clean install, great straight to the point video 👏🏻 keep it going
Thx 🙏. Mine sounded as good as the factory sys. I guess since the android unit is basically sending sound to the factory sys through the AUX port. But I've seen some ppl complain about the sound quality, I think some are due to older MB models with no factory amplifier. Can say that since making the vid been daily using the car and very happy with the sys and can't go back to the factory setup, can no longer drive without android auto's maps, music apps, touchscreen...etc. Factory sys was only a media player with a useless outdated navigator from day one the car came out of factory. I do have issues with phone calls but I didn't care enough to look into the issue.
@@ZakiGarage You got that on point! My car is a 2011, I even had to enable bluetooth audio in the engineering menu to get it to play music. While am playing music from the unit through the AUX it is like 60% volume. I think the issue is from the unit itself since I can hear slight white noise at max volume from the speakers so that tells me the COMAND is giving the right volume level but it is like the carplay unit itself is hindering the volume. The supplier even told me to activate “Boost volume” in comand AUX menu but I don’t even have that 😆
@@walidmorsi7156 wow thanks for sharing such info. My factory sys does has the “Boost volume” and it does make a difference with the android unit. I guess older MB models would need an additional amplifier with the Android unit.
In the middle of fitting mine ! Can't get the radio head unit to fit back in with the new wiring harness behind it 😫. Any tips on how you made room for it ?
@@fredwood798 I pulled the harness through the metal frame between the area behind the head unit and under the glovebox. It is a tight fit so try to push as much of the wires before trying to push the head unit back in place.
Does it work well in Winter? Mine doesnt power on when temperature around 0°C
Had no issues with mine so far, but weather doesn't get below 10c here.
luck information, Mercedes has NTG 5.2, 5.5 too
Iv installed mine kust now but when i turn off the car and lock it screen stays on.
Welches Radio ist das und wo kann man das Kaufen? Hat das auch DAB+?
hi very good work! how i will check which NTG version i have?
The interface is a bit different between versions. The Android screen seller's page (link in the description) shows with pics how to know which NTG version you have. Or you can give it a quick google search, you'll find many pics.
hello, i have 2011 cls w218 63 and i have no sound.. NGT 4.0, i need to connect the AMI with ngt 4.0? thanks
Yes, the car system will get the sound through the AMI port using the AUX. And put the factory MB system on AUX mode.
Hello I have done this already and want to add a subwoofer. Any idea ?
Can see and rsa cables
Sorry don't know, maybe you can ask the seller.

You need the factory head unit for the android screen to work

Misma duda como resolviste dicho problema ?
One of the first instructions was to make sure you get the correct screen for your car. I have a 2012 MB-E350 Sedan base. How do I figure out the correct size screen for this car?
Usually the sellers of the screens have good description of how to know which NTG to get, and you could always ask the sellers to make sure.
Hi, I installed this exact unit in my 2012 E350
And the scroll wheel/knob doesn’t work with it. Do you know a fix? Thanks!
Sorry I haven't encountered this issue, all the steering wheel controls and scroll wheel worked when I plugged everything in.
Do you have a fix for me getting my iPhone to hotspot to the unit and also why the Google maps on the unit won’t pick up my location/?/ Thanks a bunch
For the wifi press the 4 squares button to access the apps list, there should be "Local setting" & "Settings", chose "Settings" and you'll find the wifi and networking settings there where you can connect to any wifi source like a phone. I got a similar issue with the google maps not knowing where I am sometimes, in the video I showed that I threw the GPS and wifi module inside the dash, try taking the GPS out on top of the dash with a clear view to the sky.
Bonjour excusez moi est ce que vous pouvez me dire l'écran que vous avez installées combien de pouces et vous l'avez commandé sur quel site
10.25" screen, the one I bought linked in the description
I don't like the gps antenna just left behind the screen somehow. It won't get good gps signal if it flips upside down. It has to be glued in a good position, facing upwards and not behind any metal part. I don't like having to dismantle it all again just because gps doesn't work.
True, I did remove the GPS later on and stuck it behind the screen on the dash. Wasn't that hard, took 5 mins. But what I'm not sure about is whether the maps uses the GPS on my phone or the screen's gps when using Android auto, coz if it's using my phone's GPS then the position of gps module doesn't matter.
@@ZakiGarage In Carplay / Android Auto mode, it uses the phone's gps. But if you just use the gps app installed in the tablet the antenna is needed. Thank you for your answer.
What model is this 10.25 screen ? Brand?
There is a link to the same screen I used in the description
The system you shoed here, will that work in USA..? Thanks
You can confirm with the seller if the system is suitable for your car model.
My 2010 W212 does not have that media interface in the glove box where the 1/8" stereo connector is connected at 9:25 in the video. What do you do when this connector is unavailable?
Doesn't you car have an AUX plug somewhere else like in the center console? The Android system needs an AUX input plug on the car to send sound to the car's factory headunit. Otherwise I'll search online how to install an AUX input to the car before getting the android system.
@@ZakiGarage It does not. Mine is an early-2010 model manufactured in 2009. There is a molded rectangular cutout in the glove box for the multi-media interface (MMI) that is not punched out. The 2011 and later models put the MMI in the center console.
Are there RCA outputs for running an aftermarket subwoofer(s) and an amp?
I haven't looked into aftermarket subwoofer and amp but I don't think they connect with this wiring harness since the new screen sends sound to the factory system through the AUX port.
@@ZakiGarage I'm having an issue getting sound out of the system right now. Which AUX do I hook together? This car is a 2013 and I don't see an AUX in the glove box
@@MikeBender1972 you mean the car doesn't have an AUX input port anywhere? some have it in the middle console
I am having similar problem .
I found aux location in car . But factory radio didn't support aux. My system isn't sending audio . Any other way around it ..
@@expressdiy6956 I believe there is a way to activate the AUX on the factory radio through a hidden menu, I would start with looking that up.
Very good video
Thx 👍🏻
how would you rate the head unit you put in for quality?
It's not MB factory quality but good enough for aftermarket. Highly recommend upgrade tho.
So is the android auto wireless or does it only work with usb cable?
You'll have to check with sellers, mine was wired
Would this be the same process with the 12.3 screen?
I have not seen the bigger screen but I would assume yes. better to check with the seller.

Sorry I don't have a store, just a hobby working on my cars.
I wish you could do that to my E-Class,
Any one know if this uses it own built in amp or the cars own amp as wouldn't want to loose sound quality if install ?
You can see him moving the fibre optic cables, meaning it uses the cars factory amplifier
U used electric tape on the aux cable to stop the whine? Or am i the only one who’s aux whines?
Also my factory system doesn’t work it shows static. Know the fix?
@@enovah2151 I didn't have any whine sounds, tape wasn't necessary but since the connection will not be accessible once the glovebox is back on, and wanted to avoid strain on the connection in the future. For the factory system, if i remember correctly the LVDs at 0:50 is for the factory system, check if you have it all connected correctly. If that doesn't help your issue you can ask the screen seller

Man as soon as we get in the car with the same system. Anything connected to CarPlay or the system itself loses gps signal on my phone. We can't get waze to work. No nav apps work. CarPlay is the same. Is there some sort of blocker on it? Or some setting that needs to be changed ? As soon as I go into someone else car my waze works fine and google maps aswell. It's just in my car when this shit is running. Antenna is up on the board. All installed correct.
The screen seller should be more knowledgeable on technical issues like these to help you

Me and you have the same car, what would it cost to have someone do this kind of work to my car with the same screen?
Don't know, really depends on where you live. It's cheap to install at local shops from me but I wouldn't trust them with my car.
