- You may have heard the term integral folder before and may have been confused what that means. In this video we cover what an integral framelock folder is and what some of the pro's and con's are.

One of my favorites
The milling on my DLC annax handles blew me away when i got it. I swear I thought it was just flat and when i got it in hand it just totally stunned me.
I wish my Heretic wraith had fit and finish like that but im convinced Rike knife employs aliens, wizards or both and nobody can really compete with that.
I have heard mixed things on Heretic folders in terms of fit and finish
I considered picking up an Alliance Designs EZE 2.0 with dark timascus, but then the Null Raikou dropped lol. I'll prob go back to the EZE, but now that Praetheon has me 🧐
😁
First known one was the scott cook lochsa 😊
Thank you! 👊
Think it was the guy who designed the We Synergy forget what the knife was.
Jim O’Young made the original synergy in 1999 first cad designed integral.
Not sure which one came first but to me it looks like those folders are borrowing the design from the channel balisongs (or the other way around)
Food point, that is a form of integral
less hands nice.......they can hide the clip screw from inside with one hole more in the frame ;)
I wonder who started calling this form of a folding knife handle “integral”. It’s not formed as a unit with another part… like, say an integral suppressor (barrel + suppressor) which are two different parts but formed together as one unit. I suppose since it would be more common that folding knife handles are more likely or originally were made with two pieces - making those pieces as one would be considered integral??? To me it’s more like a 3 piece wheel vs monoblock wheel - it’s still just a wheel but one is made of a single block and the other is multiple pieces - now if that wheel was also a hub then those two pieces together made as one would be integral. I would prefer calling it a monoblock folding knife handle. But it’s too late, integral is what everyone calls it. I’m probably overthinking this lmao 😂 btw a pretty nice, relatively inexpensive integral folding knife is the TwoSun TS142. Great blade shape and nice finger choil. Anyhow, I’ll tells ya what - integrals a more of a bitch to reassemble. 😂
Shits… I just thought of another example which should’ve been more obvious and related. The Reeve Integral Lock, now known just as a frame lock. Which was once handle/scales and a liner lock (well technically the liner would be the frame and the scales are just decorative panels (like on a car) - anyhow, two different parts (serving different functions) integrated into one part. I really am overthinking this. 😂 I really don’t care that much. I swear.
😁
It's exactly that. The lockside, spacer and front scale are all integrated together
