    This was a great video. Do you have any videos on Vent settings according to ABG results and what changes you would make to the vent to correct the blood gas ?

      Thanks Kristin. Don't have the videos on the vents and ABG changes yet. Hope that there will be some in the future.

    Nice videos, good job! This might be a stupid question but why is the circuit expiratory limb heated? Don't the valves prevent rebreathing?

    • @GeorgeORRT
      @GeorgeORRT  4 роки тому +2

      The expiratory limbs are heated to prevent condensation from occurring. If they weren't heated, you'd need water traps in line. Water collecting in the expiratory limb may also affect exhalation of the patient, ventilator function as well as really weird waveforms.

    do you use a bacteria filter on inspiratory and expiratory side, or just one side?

    • @GeorgeORRT
      @GeorgeORRT  5 років тому +1

      With ventilators and their circuits, bacterial filters can be used on both inspiratory and expiratory limbs as long as they don't affect the operation of the ventilator and patient safety...IE....sensitivity and patient triggering, PEEP, etc. Having an inspiratory filter ensure the gas is essentially "pure and clean" before the patient receives it and on the expiratory side, clean and safe for every one else. In our area, filters are used on both inspiratory and expiratory circuits. Check the specifications and recommendations of the manufacturer.

    Hey George,
    The video tutorial was awesome!
    I needed some guidance regarding ventilators. Can you share your contact details, please.
    Thanks in advance.

      Hi: Try asking some questions in the comments section first. I'll try to answer them one at a time. I'm hoping to produce more videos in the immediate future and maybe can answer them that way too. Thanks for your comments
