    RR or f - respiratory rate (number of breath per minute)
    Vt - Tidal volume (the amount of air sent to the lungs during one inhale)
    Ve - Minute Ventilation (Volume received in a minute)
    V_dot - Flow (air flow)
    Ti - inspiratory time [seconds]
    Te - expiratory time [seconds]
    TCT - Total Cycle time (Ti+Te)
    I:E - inspiration : expiration ratio
    V_dot = Vt / Ti x 60 [L/min]
    Ve = Vt x RR
    TCT = Ti + Te
    RR = 60/TCT
    I:E = 1 : Te/Ti = Ti : Te = Ti/(TCT - Ti) = Ti / (60/RR -Ti) = 1 : (60/(RR x Ti) -1)
