I feel like Kelly Holmes shows the most growth throughout her career. She was really impulsive and not tactical in her earlier Olympics performances, and she really stuck with it and became a master of pacing! That 800 is a thing of beauty 🏅🏅
Kelly was the best clean athlete for years...her body kept breaking down because she was trying to keep up with cheats. She got her just rewards....She was the “real” talent on show.
Atleta excepcional, luchadora e incansable. Ya despues de muchos años de competición con el oro siendo esquivo Dios le dió la recompensa de todo el que batalla. 2 medallas de oro que realmente merecía por su constancia en las pistas
+David Franklin No the golden age was the 80's and the 90's.Look at the world record track times, in particular for the women. There are East German, other East Europeans,Chinese and American records, that still stand to this day. Many of them for between 20-30 years, and no-one has got anywhere near them since.Kind of says it all in my opinion.
She was injury-prone. She's massively well respected because she kept coming back and often racing carrying injuries. 2004 was pretty much the only year when she didn't break down. Also, Mutola was better than her at 800m pre-2004.
Kelly 'Awmes (said in my best Kent accent) was a 'roid guzzler I think. She was borderline world class all through her injury plagued career yet at 34 wins the two big ones looking more cut and chiseled than ever. Even her face is different. Much more gaunt and bony, a sign of steroid use.
She was high world class every year from 1993. Her fastest ever 800m was in 1995. She could always kick at the end of a race. The difference in 2004 was that she wasn't injury-plagued.

The face you pull when someone tells you they've finally got a reliable test to detect EPO.

One of the great moments in British sport.
Coe & ovett didn't get to do. As Kelly homes. ♥

Hassna ben hassii
Olympics mistook its own race lol This is the 800 m and the 1500 m lol
They are both such short races; what's the point in truncating them further..
Devşirmemiz top10 yapmış :( Helal ! Yola devam !
Just like yesterday
Was Kelly not asked to produce her test results a few years ago when the controversy came out about what happened that time.
Fast times. The EPO/HGH golden age.

At the 800m, Coe was in the better position than Kelly coming into the home straight. 💪
Then 1500 meters
800 Meters
i have met her
Goes to show, you can run like you are a constipated emu, and still finish second in an Olympic final
Is this the 1500m race that Malindi Elmore did? I think that she is too scared to race me. Ha! ha!.
Inspiration Kelly Holmes
Haha Peter they were all doping in the 80s
And you'll be a dope forever
Get your events right??? That's the 800m!
Two videos, 800m and 1500m
Holmes 34 years old and wins? Hmm

wow
Thank God, those old medals are not given anymore. Those were too small and not a worthy reward
True! I agree

is Kent accent like French where "h" is also not pronunceated?
Her times were consistent throughout her career. No big upswings like flojo
@ intentions66, I definitely agree with you. Kelly Holmes was on roids.
