Who wants to bet Aventon will soon bring out a two wheel drive bike soon after this guy showed them how to do it Beautiful job
😂 yes
Still won't beat the price I bet lol
just sold my Aventon adventure 2 , this kit would have been perfect for it because it so bad on hill climb, but i got the wired cruiser so much faster and with this kit will have even better hill climb than it does already.
Nice! Waiting for the kit
Coming soon!
Definitely an exciting option for bikes that cap throttle off at 20 or 28mph. I changed out my whole bike a while back just to get a few extra mph top speed. This kit definitely gives you a lot if you like everything else about your bike but just need that little bit extra powaaa. Great job man!
yep, would give some bikes a boost in throttle speed but really designed it to help with hill climb power. :)
I like the modification direction you’re taking with your channel. It’s a useful way to learn how a ebike works in addition to the performance improvements.
*Now I await for your dual motor Jetson Bolt kit 😉😁
glad you are enjoying!! i wouldnt hold your breath for a dual motor Jeston though hahaha
@@CitizenCycle925 I thought it was a moon shot ask anyway 🤞🏼😄. Only a few people have actually done this. Because its so niche, there just wouldn’t be the number’s interested lol.
I want to see this on keplar
Lol
Yeah, I'm sold!
I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE IT. I have 2 friends that recently bought AWD ebikes and they are great. This has GOT TO BE ON MY
2023 WIRED FREEDOM !
THANK YOU
can't let them out perform you! haha
Hell yea
Love this option that you are going to give us. You know next will be a whole new line of citizen cycle bikes that you will offer us, and you will know exactly the best way to build them because you have ridden them all
it has crossed my mind to create a whole bike, but that is a lot for 1 man hahah i need to start with something smaller first :)
This is so cool. Waiting for the kit!
soon!
Great job.....still watching...instilling confidence in many....
Great concept, Mr. Citizen! I can't wait to add your kit to my bike. I ride mostly on the street and need that boost. 🚴
excellent! hopefully have site set up for orders very soon!
I've been falling you for some time now. I like what you've done to the citizen bike, so I bought a used rover 5 And got everything from area 13. And now I love that u putting together AWD kits. Because My plans this summer was to put together my own AWD kit.. this is awesome
Brilliant idea! You should include the rst guide forks as an option in your kit. Make sure you form an LLC to sell these.
I will probably sell the forks separately, checking on pricing and availability of them..
I would LOVE to get one of those for my Freedom! ... Amazing. I'll be one of yer first customers.
love hearing this thanks!
So awesome! Cant wait for the design and add it to my Aventon Adventure 2
great to hear!
Really cool. I can see this offered with a back rack that hols everything in place.
warp drive! i can't help but wonder about a1000w (or even more!) on the front wheel....always wanting more 😃
Awesome job. Making it Plug & Play and so easy should help you sell a bunch more of these than some of those other mods people do that require soldering and stuff. Great job.!
thanks!
Good luck with everything!! Looks very nice. You could probably sell them with the conversion. Great looking bike.
Oh yeah what a great idea for those who want more but don't want another bike
exactly!!
OK, sold. Can't wait for these to ship in May; should make my Freedom a little sweeter.
Looks like a blast.
So excited!! Can’t wait!
awesome!
This is the Way😊
Another great video Citizen. Quick question. What is the max voltage that controller can handle ?
Would love a follow-up with the added range on the Aventure 2. Please also let us know where to get the RST Guide fork. Thanks!
Very Cool! Great Job!
Thank you! Cheers!
You know what you might want to consider is having a Y adapter for an existing throttle wire so you can connect both motors to one throttle, it could also be possible to use only one display I know the M5 on my AWD bike can control both motors
Cool upgrade. All my ebikes now are AWD. Once you get one you will not go back as they are so much fun especially for hill climbing.
yes, the power for hills is the biggest benefit!
Citizen Warp Drive , Gotta Live it !
I'm in would love to purchase one of these!
Citizenperformance.com 😁 they are arriving in the states June 16th
Looks Great ! Want one immediately! Let me know when available 😊
Okay will do!
Thanks citizen cycle because i owned an aventon they suck hands down sold it quickly as possible
Exactly the same little spacer on the 23 Wired cruiser I just replaced the forks. Little thing just popped right out without even using the tool.
Killer stuff!!!
You are becoming the dual motor master! I might have to hit you up if you release the kit. My Okai EB50 HAS RST forks. How can i tell if its the RST GUIDE? It looks identical, minus the decals on the lower shock. Nice drone shots by the way!
Awesome job 👍I think I'm sold on it lol , love your channel. I have a few questions if you don't mind ? 1.) What are the specs needed for the forks in case my Ariel Rider Kepler stock one will work??? AND 2.) Will you have a kits that comes with the RST Fork included ?
Not sure about the Kepler forks, never seen the but i doubt they would work. I do not plan on including the RST Guide forks as part of the kit, but I will probably start selling them on my site tough.
@@CitizenCycle925 I have a Kepler and the forks will not work
I am definitely interested and I would like to know the cost even of the front porch if you got that kind of Priceline figured out
Okay, let’s go to the beach 🏖️ 😀
I'm glad that you made sure to show the washer/nut order of the front fork.
After seeing the kit added to an Aventure, I'm interested because I ride an electric red Aventure Step Through.
Can the kit run on 48V or 52V batteries?
yes, you could use 48v or 52v battery with kit but you wont get the same power from 48v.
This looks super cool! Would there be a kit for the Aventon Level.2? I worry it might be cost prohibitive though. Under $800... I'm in. Over $800... gonna have to pass. The whole Level.2 only cost me 1600.
Looking good and easy to install. You didn't do a top speed test on the aventon.
Are you going to make a kit for the 20 inch.
top speed is around 32mph but designed this for hill climb power and acceleration. may make a 20in version in the future if the interest is there.
How do you know how many watts a motor can handle? It seems you have a 750 watt motor but are pushing way more to it ? Awesome build!
Dam nice!!!!
As soon as your kits are ready for the wired freedom can u make a video that has all your info and the link with all your info and how to order? Cause I will order one ASAP I’m in Michigan and summer is just around the corner it would be great to get one on mine, ok can’t wait for them kits thank u.
as soon as ready for order i will absolute put a video out!
Hey bro i got a highboy ex6 rear wheel motor.. are you saying it should plug and play with my wiring??@CitizenCycle925
@@CitizenCycle925oh OK I see now I wanna order one if u got them
Love the progress you're making on this project. Do you think you'd make a 20 inch fat tire version too ?
20in kit may be a future offering, i am seeing some requests for it. wouldn't be hard, everything would be the same, would just lace motor into the smaller wheel.
@@CitizenCycle925for my needs personally, I'd want a 20 inch kit before a 26. Hopefully the demand is high enough for you to supply.
I want one for my Aventure, NOW!!! 😂
Haha okay taking orders soon!
Nice. I like these front wheel drive conversions you are doing. I have a 2018 Rover too, does adding the RST forks change anything about the bike as far as looks and ride. Does the geometry remain the same, or is the wheel length altered either way?
shouldnt change anything with geometry, depending on the exact dimension of the forks you buy, the handlebars could end up higher like they did with this aventon, but wheelbase should be pretty much identical. The front end will certainly feel heavier though.
Well I wouldn't want my bars any higher, so I'd cut the length. As for the for fork I'd buy, it would be the one you put on your bike. Interesting though, I wrote RST and ask about that fork and if there were any other they had that they would recommend ( I was hoping for a hydraulic one) and they didn't offer up any advice other than indicating that their fork may not be what I was looking for and to inquire from a pro bike shop! Geeeez I can never an easy answer from any of these manufactures. lol Anyways I've seen you put it through hell and that's good enough for me! Thank you!@@CitizenCycle925
Hey Citizen, I love it! Can you add this kit to a mid-drive next? My Biktrix has the RTS Guide forks, and if I remember correctly, you have a Biktrix mid-drive as well. Thanks!
i dont have any 26x4 mid drives in my garage at the moment. the juggernaut i had was 27.5 x 3 and was hub drive.
Hoping you can help me out citizen. Do you think I could gut my aventure 1 and rebuild it with a torque sensor, new controller ect. Or just upgrading would be best? Thanks man! Appreciate your videos!
Honestly probably way easier to upgrade. I think the Aventon bike would have some space challenges for attaching bigger controller and you are stuck with that frame integrated battery that is small and only 48v.
Great solution to breathe new life into older ebikes.🍻 heck you can get a used aventon dirt cheap then add the citizen kit and still be under the new price for a aventon🍻
exactly!! brings your current bike or a solid used bike to a whole new level.
I want one❤
available for order soon!
Very much interested (again). Would you make this kit for 20" tires too? I have Eahora Juliette that I love, but would like to add the kit to it!
i have gotten some interest in 20x4 kits but not as much as many requests as i thought for that size. it may be a future option though..
I'm planning to build my own ebike, and preferably, i want to find the same controller, but which can feed 2 motors. I know that citizencycle like 2 independent kits, but i prefer one controller for the 2 wheels instead, which is switchable between. One throttle with one display. I wonder if it is possible? Or at least parallel connect both controllers?
My Philodo H8 came with one of those forks... but then again it also has a 1000 watt nominal, 1500 watt peak Geared hub motor mounted to to already
that philodo is a good deal has it held up well for you?
@@CitizenCycle925 it's held up very well so far with 1200 miles since I bought it, only issue I've had was a flat tire shortly after getting it, but new heavy duty tubes, mr. Tuffy liners and some flatout fixed that
Would this work for the Aventon Abound?🙏🏼
Next time...lets see some times...😁
The "Mad Citizen Scientist" strikes again... Good stuff man!
haha, thanks
Excellent CitizenCycle!
How about your kit with a twenty four inch laced wheel for the otherwise great step-through full-suspension Heybike Horizon? I would buy a couple of those kits for sure!
It's not much different for you. It's only lacing on a different size rim....
I might do 20x4 but not sure their much market out there for 24x4, that would be a special order..
52v? Does 52V mean a smaller hub, some 48v hubs are giant? Seems 52V is less popular but maybe you have a reason? I like the kit idea, can you add a 52v charger? I have an Aventure2 and been wanting to increase speed, distance and power for hill climbing. I would set my throttles and extra monitor just like you did in the video. Looking forward to the kit!
How about a regenerative front hub - when not using power it will charge the battery while freewheeling (like an alternator)..
Now I want to put one on my himmway
i may try to show that install too. i just need to get my hands on a himi cruiser...
So very excited. I’m coming on 3000 miles on my Aventure. Range is what I want to see please. Very interested
will try a range test soon
The citizen cycle has come up with a winner for sure. More power and faster acceleration too. Why buy another bike just to get more power when you can upgrade with a second motor. I ride dual motors on all my bikes and after you experience the raw power you won't ride anything else. One caveat, You will need to install another battery to get a decent range out of your bike. Dual motors use up a single battery twice as fast. So, Your kit should include a battery too because new riders won't be happy with the kit when they realize that a single battery just doesn't cut it.
I already have a spare 52v 20amp battery for my 26" Magicycle Deer. Would you sell the kit, less the battery, and how much would it save? Also, I need a new 45amp plug/play controller set up with the plugs and wiring exactly as the one you show. What make is it and where can I get one (this is for a different ebike that I have)? Thanks.
Great job so when r u going to start selling the wired eBike front motor kit? I want one soo bad
taking orders soon! i will be giving video updates.
🤔 Please put the wider rim "Hemingway Cobra 'PRO'" model (uses 4.5 inch tires) as option for your Citizen Warp Kit. As stated before, count me in for 2 of those, too. Keep up the good work! 👍
Are you sure the cobra pro rims are actually wider? i doubt it. they are probably just wider tires on standard rim..
Which RST guide fork did you buy for the Aventure 2? Is it still possible to install the front fender that comes standard with the Aventure 2?
Unfortunately, the stock fender did not mount up seamlessly to the new fork. On the rst fork the mounting spots for fender supports is on the bottom of the fork.
@@CitizenCycle925 thanks! Any recommendations on a replacement fender that will fit?
If there was a way to make a kit that worked with the stock batteries, that would be amazing. I have spare batteries already and while it might be a little worse for form factor reasons, but convenience would be great.
Will the kit have different front wheel sizes. I have a 20 inch system.
Will this work on the Aventon Abound cargo bike?
Just need to know what model number fork a Kepler needs.
I have a question, can I swap out my Himiway Cruiser rear 750w motor for your 750w motor? I understand that I would need the rest of your kit (display, controller and throttle). I would like to have your 45a controller kit on my bike. I been looking for someone to come up with something like the Rad power 35a upgrade kit that they sell. I do know if you thought of something like that, but I think you can add a kit for that purpose as well.
So torque arms don't hold to a regular fork?
Front motor is throttle only ? I’d be fine w that just curious.
Can you plug the 45amp controller into the back motor, and plug the Aventon controller into the front motor?
Can you upgrade the Mistress with 2 45amp controllers?
Are the plugs compatible ?
i have not tried swapping parts between the mistress and the kit. the plugs do match but it would probably need some reprogramming since the motors are different brands. swapping the aventon controller to my kit would cut its guts out, would have no power. also i doubt the plugs would match up.
Did you have to swap out the forks on the Citizen Cycle dual motor Rover? Will those forks work on a Rad Rover 6 Plus? As I have said often: I want a Monster Rover (Now with Warp Drive!). Where I live ($eattle) there are a lot of hills... big steep ones. At my age, I need all the boost I can get.
my Citizen bike was a Radrover 5 and yes i swapped out the forks to RST Guide after i broke the first set i tried.
Sold I need a Kit for The Cruiser and the Adventen Level. Make it happen forks and all. i will be looking for the site to purchase.
Thank you Citizen
Now i have to find a place for a 3rd battery on the Cruiser.
I think lowering the starting power of the front motor like you did near the end of the video is the key. That way you can tie both motors to one throttle or at least tie the front motor to a cadence sensor without fear of having it spin out inadvertently. Since both motors are contributing to the end goal of locomotion, each will not have to work as hard, thus one can tune each motor down, which will increase range.
Personally, for me speed is not the end goal. I would be happy cruising at 14 mph for 6 hours a day on a long trip. Just saw your web site. Make sure you include information there on how to install a cadence sensor for those of us who want to go that route, or information on how to tie the throttles together. Great work. Thanks. Are your kits shipping now?
Hi Davey, yes, my goal was hill climb and acceleration power, but it can help top speed on some bikes. The kit will not include a pedal assist sensor. The controller will have the plug for it and has the capability, But I don't know have any recommendations on how one would hook it up. I also don't have and recommendations how to combine throttles. Not all throttles are wired the same. Anticipate shipping the kits out mid to late May.
Okay, sounds good. I am ordering my WIRED FREEDOM soon; I'll operate it with a single hub motor for a while then make a decision about the front wheel kit later. Probably the best option is to keep the systems separate like you demonstrate. that way I won't throw my bike out of warranty in any way. thanks for all of the information.@@CitizenCycle925
Your average Ebikes are fine for those living in flat land and pavement but for bigger people and those that travel places with hills and some rough terrain having that extra power is a must! Also aim at smaller portable Ebikes for a second motor which is a very neglectic area.
yep, you put a big guy on an average bike and try a steep hill a 750w bike will struggle. dual motors is a huge help in the hill climb power dept.
Does it have to be a geared motor? Can it be gearless?
Wow
I am going to buy the kit, but I dont know what RST guide I should get for my aventon aventure 1, it has 26inch wheels, and is different from the aventure 2. Any suggestions?
I bought a set from Biktrix and also a set from Amazon. Either would work on your bike, here is a link to the Amazon forks. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C5858PVF?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
What brand cells are in your battery pack? It looks to be on the small side compared to the battery pack in the bike.
Samsung cells, designed to be as small as possible to fit in rear bag.
I’ll be putting mine on my Kepler instead
Me too.I got already 3 batteries 60ah
I’m also quite interested in this kit, when you have it for sale.
awesome thanks!
Is this for the Aventon adventure 2? I want one!!!
Available for pre-order now. Citizenperformance.com
Can you figure out how to “delete” the slow start on the actual Aventon throttle??
That bottom end power would be great at the rear wheel..
Do you know how to make the aventon faster and unlock the speed litmiter
Never found a way. You would have to change controllers
Does the Biketrix juggernaut have the right fork?
i believe it does, looks like it has the guide forks.
What type of black tape are you using?
gorilla tape
You put it on an aventure 2 will it work on on the 1?
as long as you change the forks absolutely!
What is wheel off the ground speed. ?
40mph
Anybody know how much for the kit will cost? I’m interested
finalizing everything but i'm trying to stay as close to $800 as i can...
@@CitizenCycle925 check your email.. Just sent you a pic with the 90T chainring lol
Can you get a wheel with a silver interior rim?
interesting... i actually was thinking of chrome wheels but though i might be the only one who wanted that.. but for now, they will be black
@@CitizenCycle925I only ask because my Vtuvia Antelope ebike has silver rims, it seems like given the supply chain it might be more clever to paint, replace both wheels w black, or just get another bike. The wired cruiser looks like a dope step-thru
I would if possible switch out the rear motor with this one and not go with a front. To me makes more sense then adding more weight plus it’s more powerful makes sense for it to be a rear option
How do I get my hands on one kit ???
Taking orders very soon!
Okay send me details on how I order this.
Citizenperformance.com. 😁
Voice texting isn't great but I wanted to know about the price of the front forks
Right now you can buy them on Amazon for $125 but i'm working on pricing to see if i could get them cheaper
I'll offer a suggestion....front motor needs to make less power than the rear. You will have a much more useable set up.😊
changing the front motor to the "slow start" setting helped out a lot, it was much more driveable in that setting, less wheel spin
How bout some 20”x4” kits ?
if there is enough interest i would make that kit too. :)
i've a couple people ask about 20x4 but not as many as i thought
