Luminist | Super Metroid: Resynthesized - Prologue
Вставка

- Super Metroid has one of the best soundtracks of any videogame out there, so I decided it would be cool to recreate it in high fidelity using hardware synthesizers. It's been a fun project and I hope you enjoy it!
I set up a Patreon, so if you wanna see more content like this come on over :)

he just wont stop hittin those home runs
Lol "you just can't stop hitting those home runs Disney!". Hahaha
@@royfokerpoker1802 I've done nothing but watch best of the worst for 4 days now help me
Man you give the original tune a Terminator 1 vibe that I didn't know I wanted. This is so goddamn good, thank you.
I love these! To me it's not really a remix but just what the games should have sounded like without their 16-bit limitations and it's amazing!
Totally agreed
I bet that if the SNES CD addon came out and had super metroid on it i bet it'd have sounded like this
who would've thought that a masterpiece released in 1994 would go on to make an indelible impression in videogame history....
and with this rendition having terminator 1 vibes....
beautiful.
I heckin *love* that bass. It was the perfect instrument for the song that lived to it's full potential within the hardware.
I'm glad it got to stay in.
I am looking so forward to Brinstar red soil theme
It's the last track on the album, so you're gonna have to either download the whole album from the link posted in the description, or wait about 2 weeks until he uploads it.
bobisadrummer I'll wait
This sounds similar to the briefing theme from Other M (without the orchestration of course). And that's cool.
"The last Metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace." Wow, didn't know you got Soundwave's reject cousin to voice this.
JK. Great remix.
Luminist Superior.
Incredible. Kinda reminds me of the first Terminator.
It always did sound like it after all...
I can't be the only one. When this started i thought "man this would be great in a terminator movie too" o.o; Amazing. Chills, really.
Oh man, I need to play Super Metroid with this as the soundtrack.
Also, eagerly awaiting the rest of the soundtrack, especially Lower Norfair!
Michael McClain hope someone makes an MSU1 for this
A complete Horror themed remake of Super Metroid with you composing the score and a large shake
Please and thank you.
Super Metroid is already horror themed.
@@Idazmi7 Im not talking PG-13, I'm talking rated R level horror.
@@overipecanine1485
So, add blood and call it a day.
@@Idazmi7 Thats not what I mean. I mean Rated R with not just lots of blood and guts, but with More detailed and ruthless monsters and creepier enviornments.
@@overipecanine1485
That's not what changes a rating: the amount of perceived violence and gruesomeness changes the rating.
My ears :'( they weep, this sounds so haunting and Metroidey, its beautiful
I really love your work and I loved Exhale, it's great for when you just need a breather.
That build up is so good. This surpasses the orchestral and original. Well done.
Im telling you, someone needs to remake Super Metroid with this as the soundtrack.
Like the AM2R team
Or at least just mod this into the game or something
The MSU-1 is still a thing, guys...
This slaps.
This is so good. I've been listening to this playlist on a loop for 2 hours.
This gave me chills. Great job, really.
Man these are all so great... Awesome voice over gave me chills
I was actually expecting something like a chorus instead of the Aliens-style theme you've used. But thinking about it, that really is what we have in Metroid. Nintendo's take on Alien's Sci-Fi/Sci-Fantasy. So makes sense! And hey, it works! I'm glad too, because it's such an iconic introduction. Almost every SNES gamer remembers this, usually fondly.
As always, great resynthesization
Considering how skilled you are, I wouldn't be surprised if you made that voice at the start purely out of synths.
Nintendo may have stopped you from selling this, but it's technically still legal to take donations and I'm sure there are many who would still like to indirectly still support your work. I feel like this is the sort of unfortunate situation that Patreon and Pay Pal were designed to circumvent.
thanks for your concern! I personally feel that using Patreon for promoting this album would be in a legal grey area, and I want to stay out of trouble which is why I'm asking people to "donate" by buying the first album or some of my original music instead. I may consider patreon in future but probably not with this album. anyway, thanks for listening and hope you enjoy the music :)
Loudr is a site that licenses VGM covers right?
you nailed it again!
thank you for your work!
Sounds like if they released a 2.5D remake/remaster on current gen. Very cool!
this is great work
I FREAKING LOVE THIS!!
So psyched for Ridley's theme!!!
This is so much epic!
haha aaah this so reminds me of Terminator 1 and 2 because especially in the intense action scenes they had to 'improvise' with 'hardware synth such as this if you see the behind the scenes. pretty darn amazing. 90s kid.
Wow.... This sound is soooo deeeep
Excellent, playing the game now as well.
I love this game . Congratulations on the job. I can not wait to leave this game again on the nintendo switch platform in 2d.
Some would say this is one of the best video game intros ever. I am one of those people.
This is so fucking great ! :D
Superb
Shit ! I didn't know you were back with the Metroid synth remakes !
Nice. If Terminator, Blade Runner, and Alien had a child...
I hope someday you do the rest of the soundtrack - I would dearly love to hear your take on Maridia.
Hell yea
noice
YES!
Amazing!! Plz Rocky Maridia!
dude. these mixes make me wanna hook up my super nintendo and blast some fuckin aliens. you need a job in nintendo’s audio department NOW
it'd be funny to hear the intro with the Jigsaw saying it
This isnt good at all. ITS AMAZING.
Awesome take on this classic piece. What synths did you use to create this?
Thanks! all the synth sounds are from my korg MS20 mini
Absolutely awesome. Is there truly no way to pay you for your work on this?
thank you! if you'd like to support me, please head over to my bandcamp page or the itunes link in the description :)
Luminist Will do! Thanks so much!
Fuck I really wanna make a mod for super Metroid (or some others) with your music in it. I’ve grown a distaste for electro music with the HUGE exception of Metroid, and you made it even better

That was a bad idea to replace choir singing.
These need to be modded in a snes ROM. I would contribute to that project
ErK TheErK That would be technically impossible given the SNES sound capabilities. You could technically do it but it would sound like ass.
Battlefox64: Well I've seen some modded roms much larger than the original. I know you could never play it on a console, but seems like you could hack it together for emulation only.
Either way, know it will probably never happen.
Use headphones on this. Trust me.
Mix this with a bit of orchestra. PERFECT
I disagree.. orchestra's for soundtracks are so cliche and bombastic. Like this it's way more eerie and pure.
@@Renzsu I disagree, a little bit of a chorus wouldnt hurt it one bit like the original track tried to do
Not feeling it, but keep up the good work.
John Carpenter vibes
jigsaw? is that you? *-*
This is your Korg MS-20 mini, right?
yep! the whole album was done with MS20

I need to collect those resynthesised versions so that I can hear it for my metroid fan art. Or for my metroid fan game. Or both. As long as you allow its usability. I'll give you the proper credit.

I think the voice is better, the original sounds like a very nerdy person, like um actually it’s 200112039212 stars in the galaxy, not 200112039213 stars, how could you get that wrong. IDK if that’s just me lol.
Maybe because the people who actually have the last Metroid in captivity are science nerds and not Darth Vader?
Awesome rendition, seriously. I am not a fan of the voice in the beginning, it shouldn't sound like Christian Bale's Batman, but otherwise very very fitting. I could easily hear this in a remake.
This is great, but you gotta work on your sound mixing a bit.
The music is fuckamazing, but the voice in the beginning is horrible
change by original
Nice but it's not as solid as the original.
this is great work
