      This is my favourite type of porridge and I still cook it. I normally use the very fat green ones and cook with a little water or coconut milk and it came out pretty thick, but regular banana comes out watery. I love your shows. Thank God for you. Bless

    This is the one I Love Debbie. I am Spanish born in Costa Rica ,but my grand parents come from st Elizabeth so day teach me to cook jamaican food.May God bless you Debbie.

    Yes! Old time way. Grandma does not mek porridge in a blender and so I have never either. Only difference is I roll and squeeze up my hard dough bread in lickle balls. Oooo it nice bad. Love your videos Ms Debbie!

    The second recipe I remember my mum doing. But after she grate it she whipped in the flour before she put it in the pot. But for me or small children she used to take some out and pass it through a sieve to get it smooth. Or you can cook the banana in the water first, then take it out mash it, mix with the flour and back in then pot. We are creative people. We naah starve😂

    Good afternoon Miss Debi, I notice that when you use the blender to blend out the banana verses the greater it makes the porridge develop a more stainey taste in your mouth. That is why I prefer the old school way of making it

    I prefer the older one too. It is just that the blender makes it easier. We used to add a little flour to the grated banana before mixing, in oder to facilutate the process.

    MIss D you are the real deal, if i love your cooking a likkle more!!, yes I'm younger but i use to have banana porridge with the lumps in it, a suh banana and Hominy corn porridge must eat. Like I said before a woman of my own taste. and I'll say it again you are the Louise Bennett of Jamaican cooking, Don't change you cooking for no one.

    I like both! It depends on how I feel, but your cooking makes it difficult to choose cause I know it is going to be yummy good any way you do it!

    I prefer version 1. The new version. It is quicker and much easier to make. I do appreciate the 2nd version but I don't have the time
