Manny Jimenez Sr. Thank you for making such free and great content. I’ve always loved these kind of movies and Hollywood doesn’t show them. I hope you keep producing these. Thank you!
Manny ---- I hope you took my criticism as constructive because that's what it was meantnto be. You do a great job and you will be doing big things, brother. And when you need a locations electrician call me that's what I do for the major studios and production companies here in LA.. I have crazy show references that is mostly award nominated and winning and #1 shows plus commercials and pilots etc.. ken Kaiser electric or Kaiser electric in Los Angeles. Check out kenkaiserelectric.com and shoot me a message.
wow what everyone does not understand is that this is a series about the struggles of a man growing up in a bad environment and growing up and being a man and a good example for his kids i cant wait to see where this goes.
Mexican hoods are all about respect. Thats why you cant bang on your enime when they with they family or yo hood gets greenlighted. Also in jail/prison the southsiders are one, you cant fight your enimie unless u take it up with a shot caller and he lets yall do yall thing. Thats why Mexicans run the prisons. Black hoods just love to get it popping and fight on sight. They dont have rules like mexicans do because there not as orginized.
I grew up in a varrio .were most of us had the mentality that we don't give a fuck. Growing up around a area surrounded by different gangs. U see ur friends that u went to elementary growing up and getting in the varrio they grew up on. So when you are in highschool and ur from a varrio. It wasn't hard to find out what varrio u were from. In the end it was always friends killing friends the hate u grow for a person that has your same lifestyle's . It was hard to me to understand why I grew up with a lot of hate and jealousy. I learn that their is a struggle and their are hard times. Enjoy life and respect everyone . Life doesn't last 4 ever. In memory of all my friends that not in this world anymore.
This was very deep. Brought alot emotions out. I feel whats he struggling with. I was once in his shoes. Took alots of pain and lossses . before one day.I just packed my book bag. Grabbed $400 all the money I had. Walked out the door to the bus station and whatever state I saw first where I go. 2 years later I'm here in FL. On my own and living the best life I ever had. Good job. Made some friends, recently got my own place. Hard choice, havnt looked back since. Thank you @mannyjimenezsr for making this. Alot of vatos as we get older. Atruggle with the path.
I got out the varrio and I never looked back since, It's bitter sweet when I talk to friends and family back home and they tell me how alot has changed it don't matter what varrio you from it don't matter if you represent or not just show respect to eachother because there's more to life than blasting at eachother and burying loved ones ✊
This is reality for too many. You leave me wanting to see more. Love to see this become a movie or tv series. Too many of us can relate because we lived it.
This type of stuff is not only real, videos like this are also necessary. Especially for those of us who come from lifestyles that consist of drugs, gangs, juvenile halls, jails, prisons, and all kinds of violence and crimes. Personally, I'm guilty for never listening to my family's warnings about the path I was on. I thank God that ain't my life anymore. Gracias for your videos 👍! Que Dios te bendiga 🙏
Yes. The struggle is real but think about this. If you have eggs and milk in the fridge and a place to sleep you are doing better than a lot of the world is. Got a vehicle and a job. Be thankful.
Jacob Luque I agree. If I didn’t have the friends I have I would be really struggling. I live with my friends father. He’s old and grumpy. Probably sad. I work too. Anyways. The point. I have cheap rent. I don’t think I could afford an apartment. Room for rent stuff is expensive too. It’s crazy! You can do it though anddd I love you! No worries. You’re doing great!

THANK YOU FOR THE SHORT STORIES THEY ARE DEEP AND ITS DEFINITELY HARD FOR US TO EXPLAIN TO OTHER WHAT WE WENT THROUGH AND WHAT SOME OF US GO THROUGH. PART 1 AND PART 2 EXPLAIN A LOT FOR THOSE WHO REALLY PAY ATTENTION AND WATCH BUT NOT ONLY THAT FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY LIVE OR HAVE LIVED IT. SOME OF THE FOS AROUND US DONT REALIZE THAT WHAT THEY DO EFFECTS US AND THE PEOPLE AROUND US PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY AND I DONT SAY THAT LIGHTLY EITHER. I WAS ONE OF THOSE CARELESS SELFISH PEOPLE. WHEN I HAD KIDS I HAD TO CHANGE MY WHOLE PERSPECTIVE OF LIFE WHICH WAS A CRAZY CHANGE. I HAD TO MOVE AWAY TO MAKE A CHANGE I DIDNT MOVE AWAY BECAUSE I WAS. I TRY TO ENVISION MY KIDS GOING THROUGH THE STRUGGLE AND I CHOSE TO DO BETTER AND GIVE THEM ALL THAT I EVER HAD. MY POPS PLAYED A BIG PART IN THAT KEEPING ME IN JAIL WAS THE BEST THING MY POPS DID FOR ME (NOT BRAGGING OR BOASTING). IT MADE ME TAKE A STEP BACK AND SEE THAT I NEVER WANT THAT FOR MY YOUNG ONES. IM GLAD THAT I CAN BE APART OF A GROWING MOVEMENT IN HELPING THE YOUTH DO PHOTOGRAPHY AND GET OUT AND BE SOMETHING. JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME. THESE CLIPS ARE DEEP. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK TO ALL THE CHICANO BROTHERS AND SISTERS OUT THERE MAKING THESE CLIPS AND TO ALL THE RAZA OUT THERE TRY TO MAKE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER MAY YOU HAVE MANY BLESSING AND BE BLESSED.
I'm an Irish girl from Canada and I'm interested in this. People are taking notice of the Latin culture in California like in East L.A. I just want to say I support your work and I am also waiting on part 3.

I love this! So the song at the end it’s called sabor a mi the lady singing it Hortencia that’s my moms aunt yes my grandmas sister! She passed away however she sang beautifully ! It’s amazing that song was put in the video! It’s crazy. I was like omg that’s my moms aunt. Rip ♥️ awesome job with the script and everything. I look forward for part 3.
Damn ese, this hit home straight to the heart. It's hard to change for most of us, it's hard to explain why the hood is stronger than anything else. Keep up the good work, would like to see more of these mini films.
Watching this short film reminded me of the so many times i put myself in the same situation, not knowing how to find the way, hurting mi jefita, mi jefito with all my wrong decisions. One has to be more brave to break the chains of bondage we must emancipate our selves from this mentality. We are LA RAZA DE ORO thanks for the good work carnal, and props for the actors. Much love and respect.

Real family shit right here. I feel this guys frustration and anger. I've been through the same shit but different circumstances. When he was arguing with his ol lady he sounded almost like me.
Powerful piece. Realistic view of the struggle for some Chicano families in the barrios. Definitely "Big screen" worthy or a TV series. Would like to see more.
this. should be a weekly tv show so good I just watched part one and part two I'm black and I'm here to tell you that who ever made this on to Something great when someone from the major net work,s see this u are and will be on your way well well made and put together I truly enjoy this better then any Thing. on Tv u have a hit tv show
We have to show our young that there’s a different type of lifestyle. Life is not about red or blue it’s about being a man to love and care for your family, to provide. It is our duty to guide our kids down the right road. Love this anti gang short flicks. I know we have all done shit that we’re not proud of trust me but we can change that for the generations to come.
Unfortunately this story is all too common in our neighborhoods. Most of us get caught up in this vicious cycle in our early teens, most if not all of us come from broken homes with out a real man to lead and guide his family.
This shit hits home hard.. I know this vida all to well.. I know how it feels to be in that boys shoes and I know how it feels to be in homies shoes... It’s a vicious cycle that does have to end somewhere with someone. Seeing the things I’ve seen makes for more anger and hate. If you believe in God or just Life then either way you embrace that which you are apart of and it does have repercussions on one’s mental state, health and spiritualness. If you don’t get away it’s like cancer it’s gonna eat you up slowly then when the time comes you’ll die inside and out and effect those who are around you and it’s usually the ones that love you that pay.. Damn watching this and videos similar brings back a lot of hurt field memories that feel good in a way that civilians won’t understand. Only people from the barrio or that’s been around this type of vida. You have your good memories of the homies and the street but what comes with that sometimes are the bad memories you push back way deep into your soul and memories... Idk if it’s still like this bcuz of all the new kids thinking there hard with no honor , respect and ect there’s no more code in the calles. So idk if it’s still close but regardless things have to stop especially are gente need self respect and grow up . Bring la raza up be Brown and Proud we need to start the uprise and clicking together to solve some problems and issues that have been happening around the way... but the point is to change order and to change peoples life, first thing is to do “ one act random kindness “ and you will see the dominoe effect it has.Maybe you won’t see it in that persons life but you will see in front of you there and then what it does to that person . As far as you, you will see it... mark my words you will see it and def feel it. Again if you believe in GOD or life ( karma) what goes around comes around and no good deed goes unturned.. much respect ✊🏽 to everyone or in Spanish “Mucho respeto a todos”
The directing, producing & acting is first class here, these are short but you can see the effort & professionalism that has gone into making part one & two. Story line is great & I'm sure it resonates with hundreds of homies & their families living in East Los. c/s
Thank you all for watching. It takes time and the right money for us to do it "our" way - AUTHENTIC. We're still going, but this lockdown doesn't help. Meanwhile, follow me for updates on new projects and behind the scenes photos instagram.com/mannyjimenezsr
Awebo parientes! Everyday is a test. I try my best and put the barrio to the side of me and stay suckafree but also keep it 💯 with my family. As a young man, I had those talks before and struggled with addictions, bad habits, and a failing family that wasn't there for me and left me to raise my siblings alone in foster care. I spent a lot of time learning from my mistakes, being on my own, and have come to realize there is a purpose for me, I'm here for a reason. Being a man is now my livelihood and I must protect my children like I protected the calles en mi barrio 💯. Keep your heads up. This is for all the real ones out there con respeto 🍻
Watched part one and really enjoyed it. I thought to myself maybe it's a fluke part 2 will be crappy but halfway through I subscribed. This is really freaking good
Being a man doesn't mean beating someone's ass ,whacking them, and or shooting them. Nor does it mean doing what you want as in dope and going to prison. It's being the man you claim to be. Looking in the mirror and respecting the person you see in front of you. I did all those things and I did come to God as a shattered man. He put me back together and made me realize I couldn't do it alone. I've been out and clean since 07,married and 2 boys that I need to be a man for. To guide them and make them understand to appreciate the day because tomorrow isn't promised to any single person.

Is this a series??? Is there more?? I really like this!!! Great job and the music I like👏👏👏👍👍👍💣💣💣
This is great. Hope it gets big
Part 3 can't wait, these are really good 👌
When is part 3 coming please more stories keep up ese esta muy bien el mensaje
The directing, producing & acting is first class here, these are short but you can see the effort & professionalism that has gone into making part one & two. Story line is great & I'm sure it resonates with hundreds of homies & their families living in East Los. c/s
Thank you all for watching. It takes time and the right money for us to do it "our" way - AUTHENTIC. We're still going, but this lockdown doesn't help. Meanwhile, follow me for updates on new projects and behind the scenes photos instagram.com/mannyjimenezsr
To all my Mexicans who made it out the hood. Stay strong. We got this shit. And remember love your woman and kids.
Hahaha….love your woman? They don’t love you, not in this day and age

Amen!
Wise words big g
