"and if I can make just one life better..." FUCK. I LOVE THIS PART, AND IT WAS MY FAVORITE LYRIC AS A CHILD. I literally have not been able to find this part anywhere and I was starting to think I was bat shit crazy.
As a stubborn listener of the shitty uploads of this song on youtube, this version means more than you know. I'll be listening to this on my world travels. Au revoir!
My childhood. I was upset that the Blu-ray reverted the English dub back to being a faithful one. I really wish Miyizaki would allow both Disney dubs. I also love the "I miss you. Lots of love, Kiki."
Blu-ray and Netflix-distributed versions have everything restored for all languages, especially English (soundtrack, dubbing script, and Jiji's character development at the end), likely because Disney felt the 2nd English dub was not conformed to the original manga and Japanese film that associated with it.
@@harrypotteryescaillouno45 I much prefer the original dub version. This song in particular gives the movie a wonderfully upbeat feeling of closure, and has a more mysterious air to it than the Japanese song, which tbh feels more like a weird attempt at American 50s diner music. Unfortunately, this song was eventually removed from the dubs as Disney moved towards a more "faithful", but imo less likable, version of the film that maintained the original Japanese songs.
@@emilynam6084they also removed the “soaring” song from the beginning. I think the only at home version that has it is the vhs and that initial first dvd which tends to be expensive
As a Deathmetal fanatic, Grindcore Enthusiast, Thrash Metal Advocate, and Deathcore Sales man, This song is absolutely fucking badass and a testament to motivational music.
I've had this on repeat the last few days and it led me to paying $50 for the 2003 dvd on amazon. Worth it. Love love love this movie :) My grandma and I would watch it when I was 7 years old. I'm 30 now!
It's a tragedy that the 2003 DVD is the only digital way to still watch the movie with this version of the song. I keep considering buying more copies just to keep as backups, because I never want to lose access to this version.
Sydney Forest put out a self-published CD of her Movie and TV work maybe...20 years ago? and I was lucky enough to get one while she was still selling them. (It's on Bandcamp now, but not to buy or download.) The version of I'm Gonna Fly on there does not have the second bridge verse ("If I can make just one life better...") repeating the first bridge verse instead. Thanks for doing this. (The "Collected Film and Television Works" CD I got was on a CD-R, and I ripped it to my computer immediately. I bet my disc won't play anymore...)
I watched this movie before my dad passed away. He loved Spirited Away, and he got more interested in watching more fils of the same director. I re-watched this movie after I left home and it made me cry. I cannot believe how accurate Miyazaki is-or any of the team writers-to describe the good and challenging things about moving to a different place.
At long last. The songs from the Buena Vista version are finally back again... Ah, all the nostalgia is coming back. The 1998 VHS, the 2003 VHS... The memories have been revitalized... :D
My favorite lyric is "Every leap of faith I feel a little stronger," I remember watching this with my kids back in the 90s. I was hooked for life. Anything from Studio Ghibli is a good movie. You can count on them for that. I only hope the new owners will do the same and respect the name and reputation Hayao Miyazaki built up.
I bought the blu ray for the better picture quality and realized the beginning song was different than i remember. I'm so lucky I kept my dvd copy and put that in instead! Love this movie. This was the first Miyazaki movie I ever saw. It opened me up to so many more! I'm glad others enjoy this version as much as I do.
Wow! This really is a Very Nice and purest Quality i heard of the song than the others i found through out the years, I Love it So Much ^^😃💖 This movie was my first Anime/Ghibli Movie i seen when i watched it in 1998 when i was 6 years old. I watched it a lot and loved it. I still have it on VHS but it sure is old lol. I bought it again on Blu Ray but Sadly this and i'm soaring songs are left out. So Much Nostalgia, Thank you very much for this ^_^
It's nice hearing "I miss you. Lots of love, Kiki." As much as I love Miyizaki he should have told Steve Alpert that there was nothing wrong with that line. It adds sincerity thankfully Alpert is no longer responsible for Ghibli's international operations. He was a bit of a jerk to the Disney execs about their adaptation of "Kiki's Delivery Service" and that is why Disney changed it for the Blu-Ray. Just to please him. What an ass.
She is happily married to John Taylor, who helped her write this song. It's a very sweet story the two had broken up and while on a church retreat she was writing the lyrics and he helped her, and they eventually got back together while working on it.
Smuggler’s Blues by Glenn Frey Bad Case of Loving You by Robert Palmer And this song... Are the songs I love to sing the most. But this one warms my soul.

I'm happy to have delivered. :)

I bought the disney dvd one in 2010, and was disappointed that this song wasn't in the dub at the end of the movie. I feel you dude.

I still remember the VHS trailer for this movie. God it hurts so much. It instantly makes me cry and floods me with nostalgia.

It honestly wants me to buy a VHS tape of this version. I missed this one so much.
The English audio for the movie Studio Ghibli DVD collection on Amazon is this version.
Mood af! I don't really like the DVD version much 💔
Buy the 2003 DVD, it has the dub before they change it

This sounds very detailed and clear !! Thank you so much I grew up on that 1998 Buena Vista VHS :' )
Childhood!!! Had the VHS!!!!!!
A beautiful song for a beautiful movie
this is the purest quality sound that i yearned for so dearly, thank you for this
You're a diamond, Lancie. Thank you for putting in the hard graft so that this is available to all in its original quality!
I am glad you posted this beautiful song from a beautiful film in such great quality
(for anyone curious the full song is on Sydney Forest's Bandcamp page)
My favorite movie. Both Disney Dubs are great and heartwarming. Kiki may have found her own inspiration but she is my inspiration.
The fact they removed Sydney's songs for the 2010 Blu-Ray release is criminal.
Why tf did I just burst into tears half way through the song? Damn.
WHY CANT I FIND THIS ON SPOTIFY
Love it...thanks for the love and kind comments
Thank you for this one ❤
It's on Bandcamp from the original artist.
Lol, remember hearing this on quite a few VHS openings when I was a kid.

Oh my thank you, this is exactly what we needed.

Hello, thanks for uploading.
Is there a way for you to upload it on Spotify?
HOLD ON THERE, SON!
Thanks for the upload. Do you by any chance have the entire movie with the original Disney dub in Netflix quality? I'm in the US so I can't see it.
ExpressVPN will help you get the UK version. :3
@@lancie7426 Of Netflix? Eh, I didn't want to go that far but alright. Thanks.
I made a mastercut of the original Disney dub with HD visuals, same with Laputa-- anyone feel free to e-mail me at legotronn2 at gmail!
@@SkyeGuy Sent!
@@SkyeGuy is it still available? I need a clear HD source to sync up with the Streamline Pictures dub.
❤❤
I have an original MP3, unripped from the movie
LOVE I'M GONNA FLY
