@Naomi Edouard They explain it if you read the books. One of the myths all the people in the books believe about witchers is that the mutations make them emotionless, and he goes along with it, usually sarcastically and spitefully, but he definitely feels emotions. He pretends as a sort of emotional defense mechanism.
@Naomi Edouard Actually he doesn't pretend. Witchers still have emotions just like normal humans, but because of the mutations, they have trouble expressing them. Basically Witchers have the same facial expression whether they are happy, sad, angry, scared etc. But deep inside, they feel emotions just like us.
@@mynamekanye240 that's not true at all. There's a myriad of moments when Geralt is mentioned to be making a serious face, or an angry face, smiling, etc. He doesn't always have the same facial expressions. He does have issues expressing his love or trying to respect a woman, specially Yennefer, but that's because how men normally are in that world. Besides, Witchers are generally hated and despised, which makes things worse for him
@@drogadepc I didn't mean that he has one facial expression for any emotion literally. That was metaphorically speaking because it's hard for him to express his emotions.
Many people will probably jump to the Witcher games after watching the Netflix series, I welcome you with this song and its deep meaning, enjoy the games, absolute masterpieces.
I started singing the song when Geralt met Yen in the manse. Then i realized the import of the third wish he had. The wish he whispered, when it all began.
@@tobiasthesecond5605 Witcher 2 for me fam. Love how the game divides into two completely different directions after your choice at the end of the first chapter.
I LOVE that the King of Beggars, one of the 4 kingpins of the Novigrad underworld, is taking a walk down the street, hears the melody, and turns around to listen to the song, showing that even a person who moves in that "dark and realistic world", can be attracted by a beautiful song.
Not him. It's the frigging bastard who try to murder her after. The zealot of the eternal flame. A bastard who love to torture those who speak profanities. And she's singing a love story between a mutant and a witch. This bastard burned her throat with acid and would have killed her and ripper her eyes and heart off if priscilla wasn't lucky. This has to be one of the best character introductions in a game ever. You spent hours wondering Novigrad, doing odd jobs, finally trying to find Dandelion, then asked to find this new bard, which feels like a fetch quest, but after one song you feel an instant emotional connection to her. Which makes what happens to her later in the story even more gut wrenching. Other games have npcs, in Witcher 3 you have friends.
Glad I’ve finally beka a man. I love this game. And it’s it’s amazing Team. I love cd project red in general. Once I’ve heard about them selling Witcher 2 with all dlc for a reasonable price, I knew, they are the future for us gamers
coming from the swamps, crones and monsters of velen. this was the first time i felt geralt can finally relax... even for a moment. One of the greatest moments in gaming.
When Pricilla flicked the cords I was interested but when that angelic voice came out I simply sunk back in my chair. At that moment I felt like I was sitting at the bar in Novigrad in between Zoltan and Gerald just enjoying a warm night show. I feel bad for people who say video games aren't art. I actually feel like I'm inside this fantasy world with the characters.
Isn't that awesome? She has such a beautiful voice and is immensely talented. She should expand her horizons a little more to show her talent, but it's up to her. Regardless, she is phenomenal in the game.
What if she decides to play Priscilla and sing this song in the Netflix series when it gets to this point in the story... I'd cry tears of joy if that happened
@@NiohArcadia CDPR created Priscilla for Witcher 3. She is possibly Essi Daven from the books, who is a friend and professional rival of Dandelion. If she were to appear in the series, it would need to be as Essi.
Yes, they absolutely blew me away with the postures and facial expressions of everybody. I usually play for the game, not so much the story. This time I am 100% immersed and I think that's why. It really sucked me in. Skyrim was my favorite before this, but Skyrim is so rigid in that aspect now that I have a comparison. I actually care and feel emotion in this game. Have to pause and think through decisions for a while sometimes even, because I care, not because I'm worried about the surface level consequences.
This game won Game of the Decade 2010-2020, and arguably the most important decade of gaming when it comes to the evolution of gaming. Like no other, this game had a soul. No other game, movie, or show was able to portray such an immersive feeling like this scene. A true moment of peace within their cruel and unforgiving world that we all felt. The game is so masterfully well-crafted that I wouldn’t be surprised if the next two Game of the Decade can’t even be compared to The Witcher 3.
@@nickboi7270 it depends witcher story is more detailed and world too because it is based on book and has 3 game parts As a game perspective I like rdr2 But for the detailed in story and protagonist wise I liked witcher 3 more
I mostly agree with you here. I'd only add that there were a few games from the early two thousands that, while not as sophisticated or as big as the Witcher 3 still pulled me in to a similar extent. The old Prince of Persia trilogy as the foremost example. I think those three games had a level of soul comparable to the Witcher 3, as well as a deep lore and well-crafted wold that we never got to see enough of due to Ubisoft annoyingly abandoning the series in favour of Assasin's Creed before they could make at least one large free-roaming iteration of it. I was a grumpy teenger back then and the Prince of Persia series offered me escape and inspiration like nothing else could except for very well written books like Lord of the Rings- and, a bit later on, the Witcher books. I'd put the Witcher 3 in that category, too, perhaps Witcher 1 as well, but they are not quite so singular to my mind if we consider more than just the last decade. Within the last decade, though, yes, the Witcher 3 is pretty singular. Perhaps Assasins Creed Origins is about equal to it. I think the Elder Scrolls universe has the potential to be as deep, also, but Bethesda continually fail to create games as soulful as CD Projekt Red and Ubisoft.
@@EzraYalanBenjamin It was a great pleasure to find a fellow PoP fan here. Those four installments really defined my teenage gaming years. Diving into those characters really made me forget myself. I vividly remember how Kaileena death in Two thrones and Farah's death in Sands of Time made me disgruntled, while just the presence of Dahaka in Warrior Within was enough to raise the heartbeats. But alas! How they butchered my boy for Assassin's creed.
It's not just this scene though ... just look at the amazing DLC, arguably better stories than the main game with terrific new music, creatures, bosses, characters, actors, situations ... And the direction of EVERY cutscene is movie quality (a very good movie at that) - even for the most mundane scene. The writing is fantastic - I don't think this level is repeatable - even if you gave a studio 2 billion dollars to "make the best ever RPG" ... it would be technically perfect, but it wouldn't have anywhere close to the heart of this game. It wouldn't even come close to Witcher 3's better side-missions. The music. There you go, unrepeatable. There is so much of Poland/Eastern Europe in the soundtrack, played on real folk instruments. You would have thought I would have tired of "yede-le-le-le-lel-le le-lelelelele" by now! ... but no :) Brilliant! You would have thought I would be tired of the Gwent/tavern music? No way. Gaunter O'Dimm's theme and Lullaby of Woe are perfect. Unrepeatably perfect. Any 2 billion dollar RPG that just chucks in some folk instruments will rightly be accused of "copying Witcher 3" .. which is unrepeatable. This game is brilliant - it makes you feel like a hero in a genuine way. There's a Geralt inside all of us, it seems. Unrepeatable.
@@jazzx251 totally agree Personally I know when a game is a masterpiece when I can replay it from time to time and not get bored. and then when I’m reminded of all those amazing little details and events you forget it makes me realise just how damn good the game is.
Just found out Emma Hiddleston, the actress who voiced Priscilla, is Tom Hiddleston's sister! She has such an incredible voice, sounds like an angel in this song
First seconds before the start of the song: "Damn will I really have to watch an entire song play?" 5 seconds after it start: *not saying anything of amazement*
I wish I hope I PRAY there is some way in the future where I can delete all my memory of playing this game so I can experience this masterpiece all over again. I think we all do ;)

She died on her own, I wasn't able to be with her, however I know she is reunited with her husband my grandfather, and I hope they are at peace and eternal rest now.
This was one of those rare moments in a game when it transcends the medium it's usually delivered in and becomes something more. Playing this game, it primarily consists of violence, dark humor and lore. But this stood out from the rest not simply because it's so different, but because it was so beautiful that you forgot about the rest of the game, or indeed even that you were playing a game. I wish I could experience this song during the game again for the first time.
You just described Geralt. A violent monster slayer, feared and seen as a cold blooded killer, a dark and displeasing figure on the outside. Yet in the inside a continuous fight to hang on anything that keeps him human, on the feelings that the mutations were supposed to eliminate ( Yennefer - erotic love, Ciri - fatherly love, Jaskier - friendship ). Thats what makes his character really interesting and complex . And thats what makes this game special.
I couldn't agree more. I forgot I was playing a game. This has never happened before to me ever I don't think. Anyone got any more examples of this in any other games?
I really dont know any other perfect way to describe my feeling towards this scene then how you did it just now it was just so peaceful till the bar wench had to ruin it geralt just looked so at peace

I love how you can hear the beginning of this song in “Fields of Ard Skellig” it’s such a nice dose of nostalgia for our time in Novigrad, as well as a reminder that we’ve come a long way.
This game, people... its like 5 years.. but.. this game.. is literally masterpiece, this game is standing alone on a level which is reserverd only for that masterpiece. None of futre rpgs will come close to this art. I mean.. wow, this game has a soul.
There might come a game at some point that will steal the place only The Witcher 3 has right now, but with the way the game industry is heading im not sure. But The Witcher 3 will always be a game that made people scream for more Single-Player RPGs with a great story. The Witcher 3 sold a a shit load of copies. Meanwhile EA: Players just don't want single-player RPG games anymore.
I’ve yet to find another story that creates as riveting a romance as the Wild Hunt did. It is so nuanced and mature in its presentation. Especially for newcomers who find Yen to be aloof and cold while Triss is far more spunky and openly affectionate. If you pass up Triss but are still kind to her, the game drives home the point that these two individuals have that spark and affection for each other and it’s heartbreaking to reject her advances. But then you continue on for a while, thinking “I made a mistake!” Until you finally pick up on the dynamic of Geralt and Yen. You can tell that there is real history here, it’s the kind of love that is a much slower burn. These are two individuals that are content in their love for each other, they are fully independent and trust each other’s abilities fully. Even far apart they act like how a family acts. A father searching for his wife and daughter, the reasonable one. The mother desperately seeking her daughter, comforted in the calm her partner brings. It’s beautiful. And Dandilion and Precilla!! Oh it’s so sweet to see young love. For the sex hungry and arrogant man to be absolutely floored and in awe of the talent of someone else and to even pass up the opportunity with a woman because he desires his counterpart. So precious. The writers of this game nailed the beauty and complexity of many forms of love and it’s a joy to experience
I was emotionally struck harder by denying Shani than Triss. Shani was well played in her emotional responses. As much as Triss is infatuated with Geralt, I feel Shani "felt" more for G. I mean I think back to W1 when you n Triss do the dirty like 5 mins in lol
This song was beautiful. Shame it's inspired by such an unlikable character. I'm fully aware of Geralt's history with Yennifer from the books. Still don't think there's anything remotely mature about her character or the relationship she has with Geralt. Yen is so guarded with her emotions that Geralt practically has to move heaven and earth before she's willing to show an ounce of tenderness towards him without juxtaposing or masking it with sexual innuendo or taciturness. To me, that doesn't make her a deep character or particularly endearing. It makes her a tragic, damaged character with loads of trust issues. I've dated women like that, and it's never once been worth it in the end. Within the continuity of the games, Yen is the last person I would ever romance. Since Shani wasn't an option past a hook up (which is really a tragedy), I definitely would choose Triss every single time. It's not even a contest.
I red books for the first time like 15 years ago. Its my all time favourite. And let me say, for 15 years I waited for Geralt to dump that raven haired harpy. And in W3 I had a chance to undo his last wish - I didnt hesitate for a single moment. They are held together only by magic of that wish, nothing natural about that. And, frankly, any man who likes a relationship like that has a problem.
well said, really good points you have here. and to proof your points: people are discussing why they chose triss or yen 5 YEARS after finishing the game... a true masterpiece (*spoiler: i restarted the game when i realized triss really left after the scene at the pier - i just couldnt handle that :-))
The rage i felt when Priscilla was attacked and how Dandelion asked Geralt to avenge her...damn i was so pissed i was sprinting the whole time from that quest.

Currently reading the first book, and it discussed this topic. Both swords are used for monsters in the literal sense (not humans). The only difference is some monsters are weak to silver instead of steel. So, unless I misunderstood or forgot something, he could use either sword. However, depending on how you interpret it and if you take into account Geralt comparing men to monsters quite often, the steel is still used for different types of monsters both human and beast :D

Whenever I listen to this song I feel like I was there, in Novigrad, living by the sword, that Priscilla was singing MY story. But then I remember it's just a game, and I feel so sad... This game has touched me, more than I'd like to admit.
This is my personal number one game series of all time. I don't think anything can top the Witcher 3 as a game though. The only thing that could come close is a 4th Witcher on next gen. Geralt's story is just amazing. He's badass, tough, has a tough exterior and regarded as an emotionless monster hunter. But, when you delve deep, you realise that he's more human than the majority of human characters. He does feel. Probably even too much at times but never let's people see he cares. This is portrayed so well in the books but in the games, they got him down to a tee. Geralt in the games is exactly how I'd imagined him reading the books. A tough gravelly voice and his sly sarcasm go hand in hand. This series will never be the same without him. I am sure though, when they do announce a witcher 4, we can expect it to centre around Ciri with just a Geralt cameo or maybe flash backs or a brief meeting. The series will have to evolve and become bigger than the witcher 3, somehow. I am sure CD Projekt Red can achieve it though. Going from the books to the games was one thing. But now Henry Cavill has brought Geralt to life and made it mainstream. The Polish witcher show was ok (yes I watched it all), but what Netflix have achieved is proof at just how great the story of Geralt is! It's not a perfect season by any means, but it is brilliant! I had that song from episode 2 stuck in my head through the rest of the season. Moments like those define the witcher series. The brutality and death through wars and monsters is gripping, but what grabs you by the balls the most, is the tender and usually musical moments like these. Dandelion risking his life for his friends. His songs telling the somewhat exaggerated stories of Geralt and Yen. Priscilla performing this song in the Witcher 3. These are the moments that make the series the most magical series to exist yet. And the bards song in episode 2 of the series was yet another one of those moments that probably hit even harder than it should have. This is a series in so many forms that I wish will never end. The games, the books and Netflix's series. Long may they continue! Toss a coin to your witcher.
This is the song that made me decide that Yennefer of Vengerberg was the one for Geralt. Every time I do another playthrough and decide to be with Triss, I change my mind as soon as I hear "To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy; Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep", that does it for me. Every. Single. Time.
It's really open to interpretation. When I listened to this for the first time, the line that really sticks out to me is "the wish I whispered when it all began, did it forge a love you may have never found". The camera cuts to Geralt, guiltily looking down. The song has really somber chord changes too. It makes sense that the first thing Yen does in skellige is break the wish. I chose Yen in the end because I would feel so guilty if Geralt, the one who made the wish, ultimately left Yen. In my story Geralt couldn't tell Yen the truth - that the wish was all that kept his infatuated love going. He replaces the wish with a lie.
@@person906 The Wish wasnt about them loving each other, it was about binding their fates together, and as you probably know, Djinns are malicious creatures and will not grant your wishes in a good way, so none of that ''The wish bound them together by love and they loved each other forever and lalalala'' that kind of good fairy tale kind of wish doesnt exist on the witcher universe, the Djinn always try to grant the wish in a perverse way, in the case of this wish, the djinn bound his fate to yens, so when yen died, he would die as well, in the end of the books geralt is stabbed and yen gives up her life to protect him. The love has nothing to do with the Wish, geralt was madly in love even before the wish and yen literally gave her life for geralt at the end of the books, so it's pretty obvious that she loved him, and considering the ''afterlife'' dialogue that they had just reinforces that their love was legitimate, since the last wish geralt made self-fulfiled when he and yen died together and when they spoke in the ''afterlife'' they werent under any bound of magic and still felt just the same and wanted to live together with each other forever.
It's extremely sad when you know a lot of people who played this game only once skipped this song not knowing how incredibly emotional and great this scene is. First time I played the game I was like who fucking CARES. But second playtrough I decided to listen to the song and I realised the beauty of this moment. Teared up when I realised the song was about Yennefer and Geralt. From that moment I realised there's nooo way I'll ever pick Triss over Yenn lol
@@ForgotMegun I know that bud!! What I'm saying is a lot of people skipped it and probably never watched it in its entirety. Never fully experienced this amazing scene. Never seen a game nailed such an emotional moment even if it doesn't have anything to do with the main plot.
Nazareadain It's probably there to remind non-bookfags that "Yen is still out there so don't just fall right for Triss so soon". It also makes more sense for Priscilla to meet and work with you since she's already familiar with you through Dandelion.
Bo Tan as an independent product it seems a little too heavy for a reminder as the player has yet to make any real connection with yen yet. Not that I don't like the bombast.
Exactly, no connection, the song is to help build the connection. It serves as a placeholder for the "Geralt+Yen" love theme for future interactions. In my opinion, so far (got Dandelion, just went to Skellige) the game is pushing the "canon" romance for Yen and constantly tells you that Triss is over with 6 months ago. This song would be one of those "push". I do think it's more for the latter reason, though: to give an impression of Dandelion being a blabbermouth and explains why Priscilla would open up to you.
Nazareadain Because developers know and respect what Sapkowski wrote. Geralt needs and loves only Yennefer and Ciri. Triss choice is just a choice to make the kids who didnt read the books happy. Nothing more. If Sapkowski wrote this scenario in his book Triss could have only the one role - a friend. And not the best friend.
You guys forgot about that mission of killing djin who helped to cast that spell so that they can see if their love is true. After killing it they both still were in love so ....

I rolled my eyes when I first realized this scene was a music scene, because i thought it would be as bad as Skyrim's bard songs. But then I was struck dumb by how incredible it was
Funny enough, I play Skyrim with a mod that replaces most of the music with the Witcher 3 OST, and one of the tracks is an instrumental version of this song. I always slow down when it comes on and listen to it, because no matter where I'm wandering, it adds a sort of mystic beauty to it.
+brazwen that's because game or movie music are meant to make the game or movie more immersive and is not held in that cycle of "ok, this is hot, this is selling, you make this or you're out. mainstream music also builds on average people's low expectations towards music. "make it sound not completely unbearable, but even if it does, we'll tweak it some in the studio. who cares anyway? is it another love song that sounds like shit or is it another love song that sounds like shit? it'll sell alright" (this priscilla song proves there are different levels to love songs though) most mainstream artists don't even care what their music sounds like. fuck mainstream music.
+overdose that is SO well said. modern music industry should be illegal ffs, but even worse is the mainstream audience. sheep who dont respect music for shit just listen to some "catchy" song in the radio that plays 200 times a day. and the money keeps on coming...
MrWhite yeah, and these idiots don't even listen to music for music. they turn on the 120 minutes long love song remix by Dj Asscrack and vibe out in the club. I'm not knocking that, right? that's cool. or would be cool, if it wasn't practically everywhere. my electric toothbrush started singing "You turn me on", know what I mean? some of us who listen to the type of music you can actually listen to hear that same brainwashed bullshit everywhere. I wouldn't care if they didn't force the musical taste of others into our ears, but they do. all about the money. if "everyone" felt like tucking their penises between their legs and jumping around like a frog, media would build on that and in a year, those who kept their shit together would be "weird". and now I've the right to be a hater :)
+overdose I agree you know whats the crazier part is game companies go as far as highering whole orchestras that make master pieces example the Witcher games, Halo the list can go on.
This scene made me appreciate the fact that I haven't yet skipped a single dialog in the game. 46 hours in 3 days, I really need help but I don't want it. Fucking marvel of a videogame.
I love that moment in 2:54 so much. When the song's lyric stated "The wish I whispered, when it all began. Did it forge a love you might never have found?", Geralt's expression suddenly changed and he seems like reminiscing to that very moment when he and Yen bounded by fate. I think Geralt suddenly remembered about how much he loves Yen, about how much Yen has changed his live, and about how much important is Yen to him. He became pensive and reflective about Yen until he is awaken by Zoltan at the end of the song. I just like that moment a lot and it actually make me bit a little teary, remembering all the moment Geralt and Yen's have been through together. Thank you CDPR!
In The Last Wish side quest Yen also questions if the wish forged their love. They tame a djinn and based on the player's choice they stay together or separate. It was interesting to see Geralt wonder that too when Priscilla sang the song.
Why? Can you explain what part of "creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts, expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power" (wikipedia) does not apply to videogames?
Actually I would say the Mass Effect series was better, especially 3 as controversial as that is. No other game has made me cry so many times (Mordin's death, liara's "I did just write your name in the stars", the PTSD commando, even the cheating wife and so many more and thats not even mentioning how you can create a relationship in the first game and watch it develop through the series, how liara is reluctant in 2 until you kiss her) However the witcher 3 comes second. Skyrim has some great music and the first time I played it I couldn't put it down but it doesn't have the depth of story that the other 2 have. The main thing skyrim has is the dovahkiin song which is amazingly stirring but that's about all. That said I don't think WItcher 3 actually lives up to its own cinematic, the "a night to remember" cinematic had more depth than the actual game does
I like the way the Witcher sits down, like he's thinking 'Right, so what the f•ck's this all about then?' but still showing a genuine curiosity about what he's about to see or hear. And his movements during the performance show him slowly sinking in meditative and contemplative thought, unable to withstand the effect of the emotion of the music, despite being a Witcher.
Nah geralt has emotions this song is about him he just began contemplating when the djinn wish line came up because that’s a subject that had troubled him in the past
moments like these make me wish i could experience this game for the first time again. this part came so unexpectedly and left such an impression on me man, i know it did for all of us. so beautiful.

He endures pretty harsh torture for much longer than most could to protect Geralt in the novels too. Dandelion is a fun juxtaposition of whimsy and loyalty
In The Last Wish he goes to the mat for Geralt when they get ambushed by elves and are almost killed. Dandelion would have rather died with Geralt than go on living without his friend.

I am gasping how the story is well done, completed everything in White Orchard, I was completely speechless by the quest in Vizima when I met the emperor (voiced by Charles Dance, one of the most iconic actors and the voice I would remember anywhere), then Velen was so harsh and frightening ( I've had a hard time just to go to the The Orphans of Crookback Bog), then the Bloody Barron storyline was fabulous, and now deep in Novigrad, already questing here for the entire day and I just lost my shit when I heard this song. Now it's like I don't want to continue because I know this masterpiece will end at certain time and I won't be able to have this feeling of being amazed by the unknown and unexpected beauty.
It keeps getting better and better and better. Then when you think it can’t get any better, it gets even better!!! When you eventually get to Toussaint in the blood and wine expansion you will feel like you’ve died and gone to Witcher heaven!
I remember this scene... Zoltan insisting to go to the show... Her stringing her lute and me expecting something along the lines of the broken-voiced bards of skyrim... And then she started singing. O.o I knew the game's music was amazing, but this was downright epic. And it sounds epic in all of the languages in which the game was translated.
Is it about Geralt and Yennefer?→ Indeed, and not just that, but the narrative is from Geralt`s point of view. We could say that this song is sung by Geralt and expresses the longing after Yennefer when he lost his memories of her and she lived in him only as a collection of vague impressions of "scent of berries, stormy raven locks, violet eyes" and the feeling of misplaced passion he showed Trish Merigold. The song beautifully conveys the feeling all of us had when dreamt about something elusive yet familiar and woke up with a strange longing in our heart.
this song is about Geralt and Yennifer. in 'the last wish' Geralt fights a Djinn together with Dandelion, and in the end Geralt may use 3 wishes. thanks to shit happening (don't have all the details) the entire city where they stay is ending up being destroyed whilst the Djinn tries to kill Yennifer. Then Geralt makes his last wish: I wish for her fate to be the same as mine, something like that thus saving her and the town.
I love how everyone is crying but geralt is like "damn I'm living this shit"

Geralt: "Witchers are stripped off their emotions",
Also, Geralt: does a standing ovation.
Geralt can pretend he doesn't have any emotions all he wants, but anyone who knows him knows that's a damn lie.

But alas! How they butchered my boy for Assassin's creed.
You know a game is a work of art when developers put so much detail and effort on music in scenes like this
It's not just this scene though ... just look at the amazing DLC, arguably better stories than the main game with terrific new music, creatures, bosses, characters, actors, situations ...
And the direction of EVERY cutscene is movie quality (a very good movie at that) - even for the most mundane scene.
The writing is fantastic -
I don't think this level is repeatable - even if you gave a studio 2 billion dollars to "make the best ever RPG" ... it would be technically perfect, but it wouldn't have anywhere close to the heart of this game. It wouldn't even come close to Witcher 3's better side-missions.
The music. There you go, unrepeatable.
There is so much of Poland/Eastern Europe in the soundtrack, played on real folk instruments.

You would have thought I would be tired of the Gwent/tavern music? No way.
Gaunter O'Dimm's theme and Lullaby of Woe are perfect.
Unrepeatably perfect.

Yet in the inside a continuous fight to hang on anything that keeps him human, on the feelings that the mutations were supposed to eliminate ( Yennefer - erotic love, Ciri - fatherly love, Jaskier - friendship ).
Well shit i wouldn't expect a Witcher 3 Romance Review here in the comments 😂 thanks for aharing

silver for beasts, steel for real monsters.
Where is that line in the game?
I thought he said one are for monsters and the other are for humans
Currently reading the first book, and it discussed this topic. Both swords are used for monsters in the literal sense (not humans). The only difference is some monsters are weak to silver instead of steel. So, unless I misunderstood or forgot something, he could use either sword. However, depending on how you interpret it and if you take into account Geralt comparing men to monsters quite often, the steel is still used for different types of monsters both human and beast :D

10/10 Would let Triss wipe my mind so I can listen to this for the first time again.
That's one fucking underrated comment
I would do that for almost game
Whenever I listen to this song I feel like I was there, in Novigrad, living by the sword, that Priscilla was singing MY story. But then I remember it's just a game, and I feel so sad... This game has touched me, more than I'd like to admit.
Gary Show us on the doll where it touched you.
Gary i know man. What a great game. Imagine this in VR. I'd have a hard time leaving it
This is my personal number one game series of all time.
Oh you've got no clue how it felt to reach the end of the books, it was a horrible void. Almost felt like ending a relationship.

Every. Single. Time.
"Yennefer of Vengerberg was the one for Geralt"
Always has been.
I like Keira Metz most, then Yenn, but Triss is not my type at all.
Pfft. Yen treats Geralt like shit. If that's the kind of thing that lights your wick, well, there's no accounting for taste.
Totally caught me off guard during the game, my jaw dropped.

HalloLeute wow cool :D
The song is based on Dandelion's songs, and Dandelion always talk about his witcher friend, soo she composed this song :)
Yes, you're right!
One of the best games ever made hands down. So many moments like this.
I find it funny the developers decide introduce this song about Yennefer around the time you meet Triss and try to make you care about her.
Yeah, I was like "I love you Triss" f Yen..she is never around.
'The wish I whispered when it all began. Did it forge a love you might never have found?' Damn! Right in the feels
Yen better should listen that
The thing is, I read the books first, and when I went back to this song and heard that line my mind was blown.
You guys forgot about that mission of killing djin who helped to cast that spell so that they can see if their love is true.
After killing it they both still were in love so ....

That moment when you realise the music in games are better than mainstream music.

There's 24 hours in one day, 3x24h=72h. It's you.
I guess you're right
I would have played it 3 days straight if not for uni, work, and not dying in real life lol.
Thank you for the goosebumps
Oh come on now i regret choosing triss
Best original song in a game ever. Just hauntingly beautiful.
I pity the fools who say gaming aint art !
Witcher was a masterpiece on so many levels. I was literally awe struck with the scenery at the beginning of the game (overlooking the balcony).
Why? Can you explain what part of "creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts, expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power" (wikipedia) does not apply to videogames?
true,true
skyrim is good I agree, some good songs there too and the dragonborn is epic though.
That said I don't think WItcher 3 actually lives up to its own cinematic, the "a night to remember" cinematic had more depth than the actual game does
My boy Dandelion can sure pick em!
you deserve more likes.
and then he drops them like a stone, play dandelions mission.
Brilliant
I would have thought he was gay
I think he's bi, but I'm not sure
I like the way the Witcher sits down, like he's thinking 'Right, so what the f•ck's this all about then?' but still showing a genuine curiosity about what he's about to see or hear. And his movements during the performance show him slowly sinking in meditative and contemplative thought, unable to withstand the effect of the emotion of the music, despite being a Witcher.
I mean it was literally about him
Nah geralt has emotions this song is about him he just began contemplating when the djinn wish line came up because that’s a subject that had troubled him in the past
moments like these make me wish i could experience this game for the first time again. this part came so unexpectedly and left such an impression on me man, i know it did for all of us. so beautiful.

Your scent berries tart, lilac sweet
To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy
Of violet eyes, glistening as you weep
The wolf I will follow into the storm
To find your heart, its passion displaced
By ire ever growing hardenin into stone
Amidst the cold to hold you in a heated embrace.
You flee my dream come the morning
Your scent berries tart lilac sweet
To dream of raven locks entwisted, stormy
Of violet eyes glistening as you weep
I know not if fate would have as live as one
Or if by loves blind chance we have been bound
The wish i whispered, when it all began
Did it forge a love you might never have found

Your scent berries tart, lilac sweet
To dream of raven locks entwisted stormy
Of violet eyes glisting as you weep.

I think it's the same day I installed TW3! I'm almost at the end of the story, this game is one the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life ❤
I remember this scene... Zoltan insisting to go to the show... Her stringing her lute and me expecting something along the lines of the broken-voiced bards of skyrim... And then she started singing. O.o
I knew the game's music was amazing, but this was downright epic. And it sounds epic in all of the languages in which the game was translated.
Is it about Geralt and Yennefer?→
Indeed, and not just that, but the narrative is from Geralt`s point of view.
Well put
Val Suto Geralt singing😃😂
this song is about Geralt and Yennifer. in 'the last wish' Geralt fights a Djinn together with Dandelion, and in the end Geralt may use 3 wishes. thanks to shit happening (don't have all the details) the entire city where they stay is ending up being destroyed whilst the Djinn tries to kill Yennifer. Then Geralt makes his last wish: I wish for her fate to be the same as mine, something like that thus saving her and the town.
2:29 Zoltan is feeling the beat
We are all Zoltan.
There is no beat, you mean melody
You know the game has soul, when this song has more views than the official launch cinematic
