    But if I slow down the tempo of the 2/2, it will naturally become like the 4/4... so why do we need 4/4 or 4/8 or 2/4 time at all...???? Everything can be fitted into slow or fast tempo 2/2.. and in slow tempo u can count like 1 n 2 n. Is there any limitations in this way? Cheers❤

      2/2 and 4/4 are not the same. The pulse/beat is different. Yea you can fit the same notes in each but they communicate a different way of feeling the pulse/beat.

      @@dsan94 yea that's a tough one. I don't have a good answer. I've heard people say that beat one is emphasized more heavily compared to beat two in 2/2 time than it is in 2/4 time. I know that's not a very satisfying answer. The other reason that the composer might write in cut time is just because they may find it easier to write 8ths instead of 16ths, 16ths instead of 32nds etc. Someone may have a better answer but I don't know it.
