Lovely video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried - Riddleagan Piano Master Remedy (probably on Google)? It is a smashing one off guide for revealing an easy way to learn the piano without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my old buddy Taylor after many years got amazing results with it.
I think this is the first time ever that I understand how to interpret what time signatures are despite having it had been explained to me so many times. Wording it as the bottom note equals what type of note gets to beat for some reason clicked for me. all the videos I’ve watched have been saying the same thing but her wording for some reason got through to me. It’s weird how the brain works.
Thanks so much! Since I will be playing in the Seton Hill Youth Honors Band, one of our pieces (Simple Gifts) is in 3/2 time and I have to count a bunch of rests
it is a whole rest, but since this is in 3/2 time that only counts for 2 beats. I would have to say the other beat is at the end of the piece as a pick up note; being a clip of a piece we don't see the end to find the extra beat :)
Tbf your left hand is supposed to do a 3/ (either 2 or 4, doesn’t matter) time signature and your right is supposed to do 2/ you just did 2/ on both hands.
what an interesting way to put it, u must have figured it out but yeah essentially just adding another half beat or minim to the bar instead of 2/2 itd be 3/2
If you mean as 6/4 time, then you can actually, technically you can rewrite it in 6/4 and it sound the same... 'technically'. The purpose of doing it in 3/2 time though, is because it can be read more efficiently for certain pieces, and it can give the music a different 'feel'
lol damn you jumped from basic math to calculus in your examples

That flute was prog af

Thank you soooooooo Much!!! You helped me get past my addition!
second measure of the first example, were all the notes you played supposed to be on the metronome chimes?
Why would you use that loud flute which effectively eclipses the click track?
There was a hymn we sung in church today in the this time signature, I struggled with it.
Hey it's been awhile since reading and understanding theory, so my question is can 3/2 timing be also be written out as 6/4?
I found a 3/2 time signature in my The Lion King Jr. script in the song The Stampede.
electric counterpoint!
The most helpful time signature video if ever watched
May I ask you a stupid question please. Is the rest on first bar "whole rest" (4 silent beat)?
it is a whole rest, but since this is in 3/2 time that only counts for 2 beats. I would have to say the other beat is at the end of the piece as a pick up note; being a clip of a piece we don't see the end to find the extra beat :)
hey. what's the second song called?
caught my eye :)
fleurdenina Electric Counterpoint iii. Lol 1 year later

glad you found it helpful :)
Why can’t it be 6/4
That would be 2 groups of 3 rather than 3 groups of 2. In 6/4 a dotten minim gets the beat as opposed to a minim in 3/2
Thanks for the help!
this helped me a lot, thanks
What song is that?? so nice!
Thank you!
this was really helpful
Thanks so much.
I finally understand this! Thank you! :D
So 3/2 is basically cut time in 3?
what an interesting way to put it, u must have figured it out but yeah essentially just adding another half beat or minim to the bar instead of 2/2 itd be 3/2
Omg... I am hearing it like 4/4
Da dada / da da -da / da da / dadada
dear...thanks!
I am here bc of Sondheim
No explanation of which beat to stress + poor diction.
why can't you just count a fast 6
