Yes ridiculous they are. Also heard people complaning about silly things of wich i can only think... how spoiled are you 😀😂🤣 about your last complaint... every ship, including cruise lines, are obligated by maritim law to help people in life threatning situations at sea. And if not obligated... they should do that to.
My favorite cruise complaint story: I was on a transatlantic cruise - the itinerary clearly showed 7 "at sea" days. In the elevator, I overheard a young lady - 20-ish - say "I can't believe we've been stuck on this thing all week without a single stop anywhere! How can they get away with that?" I laughed to myself and showed great restraint for not saying "what part of 'transatlantic cruise' don't you understand?" or "did you not read the itinerary before you booked the cruise?" or "where, exactly, would you want them to stop to let you off?" hahahaha
I was on a cruise once and heard the craziest funny complaint ever, firsthand, while waiting at the purser’s desk. The man in front of me had come down to ask to be moved from one outside cabin to another. He said he was promised an ocean view and all he can see from his cabin is the dock and the city (New Orleans). I could not help bursting out laughing. We hadn’t left port yet! The poor person behind the desk having to explain to this dolt of a man that when the ship leaves port, all outside cabins are ocean view, with me evidently not helping as I was actually laughing out loud. Could not help it! Still chuckle at that memory.
The stupidest question I have fielded was on embarkation day in Port Everglades. Man ran up to our passenger services desk and started yelling at the front desk staff. I came out as the Passenger Services Director and said sir what is the problem? He said he wanted an ocean view cabin and he paid for one but he didn't get one. I said show me your cruise card and he did. He was in an ocean view cabin and I showed him the deck plan. He said well why when he looks out does he see a parking lot? I told him the ship was still moored alongside. We hadn't departed yet.
On our last couple of cruises, we found out in advance which languages would be used on the ship and the ports of call. We downloaded phrases in those languages and also a number of short videos as well. My wife and I had a blast communicating with people we met, exchanged email addresses also. Don’t complain, make it a cultural exchange!
We as a gay couple were placed at a table with a really “salt of the earth” Texan couple into the hunting, shooting and fishing lifestyle. On the first night it was a bit awkward but we all made a big effort to understand where each other were coming from. It ended up we loved our time with the Texans and were very sorry when the cruise ended. Table sharing requires effort but it’s worth it in the end 😄
Sounds like you guys had a great time! I think if I didn't like/get on with my table mates, I think I'd just shrug and go eat in my cabin. Why make a huge fuss out of nothing?
I understand both sides of this. We had to share our table with another couple and it’s an odd thing to be thrown on you. I had no idea we would be doing this. It’s almost like they are punishing you for coming as a couple.
I run a tour company and in the past 17 years we have a “greatest hits” of silly complaints. One of my favourite came from a tour to an event in Valencia Spain: “The food, especially the breakfast, was too Spanish”. We blacklist customers who complain unreasonably or inappropriately/rudely (especially when they do it to other guests) - thankfully this list isn’t too long. For a few truly horrible guests, we have informed fellow agencies in the field. We take complaints very seriously but be aware that “the Customer is not always right”!
This is hilarious, Emma. People are such babies. I often think they are just complaining to see if they can get something for free. The people expecting everyone around the world to speak English have no business traveling to other countries. Sometimes trying to communicate past the language barrier is a really fun experience. I tried to talk with a French woman at a shop in Paris and we both were crying with laughter because of my horrible attempt at French. We had a blast! This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and am looking forward to watching more. Love it!
I once heard a co-worker call a customer techno-peasant (after hanging up) not nearly as frequently as luddite, mundane, or the like. We were working as tech support for Microsoft at the time.
Wow....I love this! These people do walk the earth! Yikes. My wife and I (USA citizens) decided to take a chance on the new MSC Divina from Miami, FL on a 10 night Caribbean cruise. I saw the negativity in Cruise Critic reviews, and also their forum. The price was good, and the ship looked gorgeous. It was everything we thought it would be, and we actually enjoyed being the "minority" and listening to all the languages, and meeting people from all over the world. I truly does make me wonder what people have to complain about. Any day on a cruise ship is better than just about anything else!
Very funny Emma, the funniest I heard was someone phoning customer services complaining they couldn’t get their microwave to work, they were asked by a puzzled agent where the microwave was and the agent explained that was their Safe unbelievable lol, I will post that in the group as well cheers Pete
First time a had a pod coffee maker in a hotel room I couldn't get the pod to fit into the machine! The welcome info didn't mention anything. Finally the pod slipped out of my hands and dropped sideways into the machine, perfect fit! Couldn't get the coffee hot enough though😆
Re: safe vs. microwave, I guess the pax had never seen a safe in a cabin before and confused it with a microwave because of all the keys on the control panel.
Hi Emma. Waiters will invariably remember your name if you show them respect and patience. They regard it a pleasure to serve you because you have made their day just a little bit better. I sailed on a Silverseas cruise around Iceland and the waiters all addressed me by my name from the first night. You give some, you get some. I didn't get everything I wanted but I enjoyed the cruise immensely.
I'll admit, I felt for the guy complaining about "discrimination." No, it wasn't discrimination. Yes, it makes perfect sense why it happens. That said, I know I would be pretty darn disappointed if I went on a cruise to see all these sites only to discover that, "Nope, sorry, we cancelled this tour because there weren't enough english-speaking people interested." That's a possibility I would want to know about before I spent money on the cruise because, if I knew, I probably wouldn't spend the money and find a different cruise that could pretty much guarantee it (or arrange it on my own). Now, I'm not a cruiser, so maybe this is "normal" but not something the cruise lines like to mention. Maybe you need to watch videos like Emma's to find out these little tricks and tips. I have no idea.
@@petermerchant4439 well if you read the small print when booking any cruise, you would read a part that says any part of the itinerary is subject to change depending on circumstances, whether it’s a lack of people, restrictive weather conditions, or a good old fashioned virus outbreak. You are expected to understand this when booking. So while I could understand this particular guy being disappointed, blaming the cruise company is extremely petty.
Some of us English speakers (not me) are very presumptuous that way: of course everyone in the world should speak English! I'm sure that, say, Czechs don't expect the whole planet to speak their language.
@@EmmaCruises In England, you only have to take a ferry over to France, to hear French. You can buy DVDs from 52 different countries in their native languages all region 2. In the racist USA, we are required to only have region restricted crap that insist only region 1, and the only non-english options on those DVDS is canadian french and spanish. I'm not even sure if thats mexican spanish (which is should be!) or the non-mexican spanish we learn in school here, if we want to (I didn't.) Thus, Americans are used to American English only and think everyone speaks our language. They don't! And yes, I would take a excursion with Germans speaking German only or whatever language. I don't make sense of what people yammer on about intellectually (stuff I want to know and learn) when outside because the wind gets in my ears, so what language they are speaking is inmaterial. I'm not going to understand it anyway. ROFL Only thing is that I wouldn't want to make a mistake and misunderstand a direction I should be doing. Read if you want, but no worries! Its a bit of a rant. Sorry! Personally, I want to learn as many different languages as I can and see movies and tv shows from all different cultures in their native language with Closed captioning for English or native language as an option to choose between. I think it would be awesome if I could get this! I can, if I order online from specific places, but good luck in playing those in racist USA! You can't! VLC doesn't always play them, and your PC no longer plays DVDS and the dvd player that did work, is no longer buyable on amazon. Thus, I have to bend over backwards to get a new laptop that I would keep region 2 and then buy a 2nd one, that would be region 1 OR get off of disability, find some way to heal my brain from my mom's evil shaken baby syndrome and move overseas where racism is not law! For the record, Sweden and Hollywood are the 2 countries enforcing our racist laws of hate and discrmination banning region 2 dvds from working! United Kingdom also supports this racism, technically. I can't watch The Tomorrow People because of Roger Price and racism. :P Oh well!
The comment about having to sit with total strangers is very funny. Getting to sit in the dining room at a large table with many people is one of our favorite things about cruising. The conversations about where people come from, what everyone did in port, and the different customs is just enjoyable to listen to while dining. We always request a large table, unless we are with a group or our family. We took a 2 week cruise from Southampton through the Baltic in late 2019 (just before Covid) and had requested a large table when we filled out the online forms for the cruise. But when we showed up the first night, they had us sitting at a table for 2. They were nice enough to put us at a larger table starting the 2nd night. My wife told the Maitre' D that she gets to sit with me for dinner all the time and she is ready for someone new to talk to! Thanks dear!
Agreed. Hudson looked great on Emma's video. My family once owned a tabby that looked like Hudson, and fortunately for Emma, Hudson allowed her to pick him up. Our tabby, named Pounce, seldom allowed us to hold him for long after picking him up. My own cat, named Deanna, seldom allows me to hold her much less to pick her up.
If you dont want to use the sink in the bathroom im sure you could take it to any open bar and they would rinse it out for you! when i sailed on Princess i would get coffee every morning in my own travel mug and the worker at the bar would rinse my cup for me every morning before she made my coffee!
@@FoxDren this was stating they will rinse out a personal Item of yours that you bring with you. Most wouldn’t do it for you before. At Disney we’re not allowed to take anything back over the counter. If you touch something and it’s the wrong order it’s yours. Bc it’s trash to us. So touching a personal mug of someone’s is out of the question. You’d prob get fired as a cast member for trying to rinse someone’s mug for them.
We were on our first cruise in 2000 on a P&O ship when the Captain came on the tannoy to announce that someone had complained that the ship was rocking from side to side and up and down and they didn’t like it. Well, at the time, we were cruising through a flat calm Bay of Biscay. The Captain replied with saying something like he would try and make sure that the ship didn’t move too much and would let these passengers know if they were likely to start moving about a lot. We all on deck burst into hysterical laughter. It’s a hollow container on a moveable substance, what did they expect!!!!
Hudson can appear in any video at all... my two kitties would probably love to see him! I actually did get a kick out of hearing ridiculous complaints... my favorite was the one complaining that not enough Chinese people- in China- spoke English!! And then the folks who took an Italian line cruise and complained similarly. Thanks for sharing these silly things- I needed a smile this morning!
Emma- thank you so much for inquiring after me... I have up and not-so- up days... but I have found that your videos can cheer me up - in addition to educating me. You are TERRIFIC at this- I'm glad you decided to do this full time. I have learned so much and hope to take one of your courses one day. Thanks again. 😊
I read one on cruise critic where a cruiseline 'lost a loyal customer, have cancelled all my future cruises' because people were wearing OPEN-TOED SANDALS! and openly flaunting that they would NOT follow the dress code!
Heard a comment from someone who enjoyed their cruise who then added, "but you could be forgiven for sometimes thinking that you were in a care home". My wife and I looked at each other and said, "sounds perfect". :-)
There is another UA-camr who has done complaints video and this one had me laughing for ages: "A couple complained because their inside cabin didn't have a window and wanted to be moved to another inside cabin that did have a window." What!? Oh and also Hi Hudson.
Haha! Is there? Maybe I should find the other video. I heard somebody complaining on a ship their room was too small and they wanted upgrading. The reception staff explained that they had paid for this room... And the measurements were on the internet... 😂♥️
@@EmmaCruises Its called Don's vacations. He is a Canadian guy and a travel agent in Canada who seems to specialize in cruising. It is an entire video on silly complaints.
Thanks for this Emma. Some people just don’t research enough. We have been on a few holidays where English speakers were in the minority. On one we were the 1st couple in the hotel from the UK for 6 months and were treated like royalty 😀
Not only do people not conduct enough research about deck plans, ports visited, shore excursions, etc., they also expect to be spoonfed info by travel advisor columns and travel chat sessions. How many times have you read travel chats and the most common questions involve, "Hey so-and-so, what sights are must-sees in X city in Y country? Guess who does lots of research about X city in Y country , but also has visited the place frequently to know what I haven't seen or what I want to see again? That's right! I'm that researcher!
@@shepwillner7507 me too :-) we have a cruise booked out of New Orleans next April and I have a huge list of things we want to try and do and places to see both in Nola and the ports on our cruise. It is easy to research these days. I love researching places we are travelling too :-)
I saw the title of this video and didn't think I would enjoy it. I watched it out of curiosity and, MY GOODNESS, what a hoot! I work in the tourist industry here in Florida (not Disney) and it's just so funny to hear what people will complain about. I'm convinced that some of them are bound and determined to have a bad time (there are people like that...I'm looking at you, New York). But you can be awash in complaints all day and all it takes is one kind compliment or sincere thank you to wash all the negativity away.
This is why it's so important to do your research b4 you travel. Not only will it make you realistic but also more confident. I can remember a trip I took where I spent so much time tracing an overcharge that I didn't enjoy the trip as much as I could have. Never again
I know a person who absolutely complains about everything. These are people who've learned that most people are generally kind and try their best to make other people happy so they go through life getting a little extra here and a little extra there from kind people. The worst part is they're never grateful, they feel entitled to the little acts of kindness and immediately do the same thing again to someone else. I like your chill attitude. You seem like a person who would be an excellent travel partner. Uptight complainers should be kept under house arrest.
The 84 yr old mother one had me chuckling out loud!! A few years ago Don Terris from Don’s Family Vacations did a video about complaints received by guest services - one person repeatedly asked why maintenance couldn’t come to his inside cabin & add a window into one of the walls, and another person wanted to know why they couldn’t open their porthole! Amazing that these people found their way to the cruise ship (lol) - takes all kinds!! I’d gladly cruise with Hudson -I’m sure he wouldn’t complain if no one else was talking cat (meow)!
Emma Cruises - exactly!! Such an awful thing to say about a parent - just mean (which for some reason I thought was funny - maybe I was remembering my last trip with my mother when she was in her 80’s)!
I love this! Where did you find these treasures Emma? On a side note, your content is just getting better and better. You’re one of my favourite UA-cam channels. 😘
You do you, Emma!! If people aren’t interested in what you have to say, they don’t need to watch!! I know an obsessed, sad person just like these people. They’re miserable. I like to hear your reviews. Thank you for what you do. 👍🏼
4:29 - I can 100% confirm that restaurants that cater to the elderly season their food very bland relative to others. It avoids having the food sent back unnecessarily if they don't like it. In particular we avoided salt (although it was freely available on the tables) because of how many guests were on no-salt or lo-salt diets. It wasn't worth the risk. Elderly people GENERALLY do not like strange, spicy or complicated food - they prefer it to be served early, in smaller portions, and in formats that they recognize and don't cause them dental or stomach troubles, such as casseroles, salads, soups, soft vegetables, etc. Many of them are very "set in their ways" and have specific dietary limitations due to medical conditions (high blood pressure, kidney problems, diabetes, etc). Even the names are important - we found that they would avoid paella until we took out the shellfish and renamed it "Spanish rice and chicken casserole". I have no idea whether the actual substance of the complaint was accurate or legitimate (not all bland food is intentionally trying to appeal to the elderly, obviously) but yes, it is a real thing to serve them softer, smaller, blander portions with simpler names, and that might well offend somebody who expected a big, spicy elaborate feast.
With a cruise you need to be flexible as ports can and do change in your itinerary (believe me they will). If table sharing isn't your thing request a table for two but you may need to wait a while. I normally dislike sharing a table but make polite chat knowing I'll most likely not sit with the same lot twice. However, to my surprise I came to realise others aren't keen at sharing either ! We've met some lovely people table sharing so give it a go, you can always eat somewhere else if it really is not your thing but do try at least once. Above all be polite to other guests and smile, say hello to people, chat with strangers it costs nothing, go with the flow, cruising is one of the few real adventures in life we can afford, you might end up discovering a place you love unexpectedly. For those constant moaners I'd advise go work with the general public in a retail environment, it might change their altitude to staff. Great reviews though and pretty easy to find such comments online but never be put off by them.
Hi Emma. I just recently discovered your channel and am going back through the older videos. This one cracked me up. Reminds me of one of your references to peaches in another video, but I can't recall which video that was. Cheers.
Came back from a cruise with AIDA some years back. On the same train was a couple who vented their frustration about the fact that they only had buffets included in the cruise to the other passengers in the train departing Hamburg. As though AIDA kept the fact, they only had buffets included (at the time at least) a secret...
I have heard some very strange complaints in the past .Like a coupe who arrived two min before a show and complained they could not get their preferred seats???. Well done Emma the passengers can provide unlimited entertainment by the strange things they complain about. A couple who enjoyed ball room dancing complained that the ship moved whilst they were dancing???
Depends on your disposition. I don't think I would enjoy it very much. Glad I found out it's a thing. I would either just not go to the dining room when bust, or try to meet some agreeable people beforehand and sit with them.
@@Cheepchipsable I think it is a common practice in Europe. I went to dinner at a restaurant in Germany, and all of the tables sat eight people. We were the first two at the table, but then other people were seated at the table without even asking us.
Once. But every dinner for the entire cruise? So this happened to me when I went with a friend. What if we were a couple and courting each other? I would’ve been very upset. That wasn’t the case and we had an ok time but an ok time isn’t very woke imo.
I’ve been on two P&O cruises and the food was different quality on both ship but that didn’t put me off going on another P&O cruise and the staff remembered us after a couple of days . Love cruising .
Most of these are pretty funny in an "oh my these people are selfish" kind of way, but that last one really pissed me off. I mean, there is a point where cruise liner crew stops being your entertainment and starts becoming sailors, obliged by the rules of the sea to help other mariners who are in distress. Apart from the obvious humanitarian issues, the captain could have faced criminal charges if they had refused to assist. Those utterly egotistical pricks that value their own holiday more than the lives of other people.
I got the impression it was more about "Why did they need to pull service staff for that, rather than just the sailors, if it was just 13 people?" or something, not the mere concept of stopping at all. But who knows.
Hi Emma. I have enjoyed a few of your cruise videos. (I'm an ex Brit from near Canterbury who has been living in Canada (Alberta) since 1978). I am 66 years old and have only ever taken two cruises - the one a 10 day trip on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner in the Mediterranean the other the Regent Seven Seas Navigator in the Western Caribbean. My wife and I enjoyed both cruises immensely and I also understand that these were not cruises on the more "Budget" end of the scale. (Regent Seven Seas Cruises are simply fully paid for - one and done - and there is no departure "Sticker Shock" - after all that sticker shock was built in up front and once accepted the rest as they say is just whatever you can do to fill your bucket list wishes... I have a few questions as I am always curious. Have you ever taken one of these? The second - now as a retired senior (cough) and one who is now single (I lost my wife to a neurological condition - MSA - in March 2020.) and (cough) on a more budget lifestyle - there are a few things I would like to do. One is to take a European River cruise (Amsterdam to Bucharest) the other is maybe taking my sister on an Alaskan Cruise (She is 76 and lives in Vancouver B.C. never been on a cruise - never really had any great holiday either!). I have gained a whole new appreciation of what you have talked about the various more bargain Cruise Lines and what to expect from them from your videos - I have also come to realise that many of these floating "cities on the water" may not be the chaotic human zoos I have always been led to believe they could be from the news and tabloid depictions. I do like the smaller cruises - but I also realise that one pays a King's ransom for the "no worries" aspect of the premium brands. What are my best choices as a single cruiser on both the Rivers of Europe or the open seas? And if you were to take an Alaska Cruise yourself - who would you go with? (Not personally - I'm not that cheeky - but which cruise lines? What would be the biggest changes I might expect (other than saving a ton of money perhaps) by taking the more middle of the road choices of cruise lines? Thanks.
Table sharing turned out to one of the biggest joys of our first cruise and we embrace it every time. Who would want to share a table with this person anyway.
When I travel I try to learn enough of the langauge to be polite. Usually, when people hear you trying trying, they will be much more receptive to you.
I've invested in a language learning service and am planning to learn "enough" of as many languages as possible before I travel again (and keep learning until I die). Besides being polite, and a great way to make new friends, it's good for the brain. : )
@@bluegreenglue6565 that's so true! Many people don't realise that it's currently regarded as the best way to guard against dementia in the over 60 demographic
Also it's the quickest and easiest way to learn a new language - being surrounded by its native speakers. And learning even a few phrases of a new language is NEVER a bad thing
I have read hundreds, if not thousands, of cruise reviews. Most of the complaints are about things I’d probably never notice. Some of them loved everything except had a bad experience boarding and they let that ruin the rest of their cruise. My favorite was a person in a Haven suite on NCL who had a “fantastic” concierge who anticipated their every want and need. He really seemed to “get” them. Their complaints centered around the butler who didn’t speak great English and didn’t share the talent of anticipation with the concierge. They also complained about having to be unavoidably exposed to some of the non-haven guests occasionally. I hope their mothers are proud. Techno Peasants!
No doubt some of those daft complainers will now complain that a gorgeous ginger cat interrupted their viewing of your video. I think the problem here is that some people truly believe that the world revolves around them; anything that spoils their day HAS to be someone's fault. These ungrateful pillocks should be made to work as a room attendant for a couple of days, then they would really have something to complain about. Keep up the good work, Emma.
Aboit the food tailored to old people, i did see on another cruise video that the cruise lines run an algorith on the passenger data and make adjustments to the menus. For example if a sailing has 600 little kids theyre going to stock more chicken nuggets than the same cruise with mostly seniors.
"We missed our religious services because they were saving the lives of thirteen people..." Seems like these people aren't getting the message from their religious services.
The Christians who missed out on their religious services to save 13 lives have a very non-Christian attitude. Not good Christians by any definition. Question they need to ask themselves frequently is What would Jesus do?".
i dont know what a donations collecting meeting has to do with caring for others. also they had to maintain the religious act to protect the religion financial assets, instead of risking their supporters to contract that widespread dissease amongs those refugees and others comming from poor countrys.almost all come infected of hypothermia and can cause a lethal outbreak.
If I was in charge of running a large cruiseline I would put Hudson in charge of Customer Complaints! Our cat, Foxy, is quite sure about what she wants from life...plenty of warmth, sleep, treats and cuddles otherwise she would make a complaint against us! 😺🤭🚢
Love the video and 99.9875% agree! Our last cruise was up the USA East Coast in October 2019 on Princess. That was our first experience (10 cruises so far) with "Table Share" and we loved it! Every night we enjoyed the company of people from all over the world. UK, Germany, Norway, Australia, Brazil and a few other places. People from Europe are used to it but most Americans only get to meet people from the North or South of us. We are retired (pensioners for you Europeans) and are repeatedly told we look and act younger than our ages. In our experience we have found that people younger than 30 create far more turmoil then any other age group.
Oh, yeah, right. Just try to find a CD these days holding a clipboard containing cruise ship decks and helping people find their cabins after boarding the ship, especially on Embarkation Day. Never happens. CDs seldom get heard from until the first announcement goes over the PA system regarding the muster drill and the Sail Away. When Muster Drill happens, the CD goes on the PA system and explains what to do after hearing the 7 ship whistles: Return to your cabin, put on your lifejackets, dress in warm clothing, and take your meds with you. Then come to your assembly stations. The Captain expands that explanation and tells people to be safe when climbing stairs and stop tossing cigarette butts into the water because that habit can cause fires aboard the ship. But the first time you actually see the CD, he or she will be MCing the Sail Away, dancing with the entertainment staff, and making guests feel good about the fact they're on a cruise vacation.
I do think it would be nice if they give you a small thing of dish soap and scrubber for your soda cup. I pack my own scrubbing tool (and a travel size shampoo works well for dish soap) but if you’re new to cruising you might not think to pack that. I wouldn’t expect it but it would be nice.
As a Cruise Advisor for over a decade, I have had my share of complaints for things NOT implemented by the cruise line. The most common is the missed port complaint you discussed. I try to explain to my clients that the Captain of the vessel is responsible for the guests, crew and the vessel...IN THAT ORDER. If the Captain feels it is unsafe to port due to sea or weather conditions, it is for the guests safety. The bottom line to that is that it states in EVERY cruise contract the guest agrees to that the cruise line has the right to bypass a port for any reason. Guests must understand they are paying for a cruise, the ports are just an added bonus. I've been on many cruises personally where ports were substituted with other ports. When doing a 15 day T/A from the U.S. to the UK, we had to skip Bermuda as a port and went to the Azores instead. It happens. Did not disrupt my cruise experience one bit!! Great videos Emma. I subbed...
Hello pretty lady. Yet another video I really enjoyed. I love your reactions as I find, I am doing the same thing. I also watched your mean comments video. Too funny really. Why any random weirdo would expect to call you names or assume your character is beyond me. Sometimes, It can be really funny. Big love Rob.
I have worked in travel for 15 years, and part of that was as the customer service manager for a cruise line and an amusement park. The things people choose to complain about are insane!
True! I can remember standing in a line at a hotel to make a complaint about something (the aircon I think) but after overhearing the whacked complaint of the people in front of me I decided I'd rather put up with it than be associated with those crazies merely by proximity
We have been on a few cruises and been greeted by waiters and cabin stewards that have been on previous ships and were shocked that they remembered us from other ships , I always ask my beloved if she had misbehaved and I had missed it
After 20 plus cruises , I have found the waiters and the room stewards to be wonderful people. The go out of their way to insure we are having the best cruise experience possible.
COMPLAINT! Not enough Hudson in this cat video!🤣🤣🤣 Love your videos and loved these crazy complaints. I’m a nurse so have dealt with many crazy crazy people.
OMG! Were those people who complained about missing the Christmas service, to save thirteen poor souls at sea, possibly named Scrooge? Good video Emma. I guess you might say there's all types, sometimes, on cruises. 👍👍👍
Yes, where is that famous Christian compassion there? I mean, it could be they are of the "Christmas traditions" more than "faith" segment when it comes to celebrations, but still...
The ship should have let those 13 people drown so that these passengers could get their Boxing Day service? If you value a sermon more than people's lives your religion hasn't taught you anything worthwhile.
We've had people that died and their children because I'm going on cruises and right now it's just not a safe time to go but you wanna go but you're going to own risk and your risk your children's lives too ain't nothing worth that because you can go and never come back
I recently saw a couple bring their little baby to the pool, carrying a little inflatable pool that they set in the slash border and the baby was quite happy to splash around "in the pool". When they left they emptied to inflatable in the shower. Great solution.
To be honest the term 'Techno Peasant' sounds like some kind of medieval rave. Just imagining something like a Tabors being beaten as fast as possible while some serfs have to wave around candles of different coloured waxes and occasionally somebody shouts something really loud. Then again, who would win 'Techno Peasants' or 'Rap Knights'? Now we just need to work out how to combine more discotheque styles with classes of the feudal system.
I've been on 10 cruises? Maybe more. Mostly with Carnival. I've never had a bad meal and the service has always been excellent! Excellent value as well. Spend 8 days at the New Jersey shore. You'll need a second mortgage.
Emma, I lived in Italy for four months and I never took an Italian lesson but I figured out what the Italians meant if you read listen carefully and read their body language.
On one cruise, a fellow passenger made a serious error by assuming my wife, who was wearing a white blouse and dark slacks, was a serving staff member. She handed her a seriously overloaded food tray and asked my wife to take it to her table. My wife told the other lady that she had too much food and she could carry it herself. “Show me your name badge”, she demanded. “Sorry, but I do not work here”, was the response. Never assume!
You’re very entertaining to watch. I enjoy the videos. Most of the comments are definitely absurd however coming from hospitality I would argue these are people who the staff didn’t recognize there was an issue and confront it. There’s a thing called beat the greet. If you approach and discuss with guests who feel these emotions you can end most or all of their anger towards the situation.
These were hilarious! Thanks for sharing! PS. That last guy probably feels that ideally, the Titanic survivors should have been left to drift off into heaven.....
Yes this is why you shouldn't just be guided by ratings, you need to read the reviews to determine the kind of people writing the reviews - get a feel for what they value, whether they're realistic etc When I read reviews I go thru all the bad 1s first and work out whether the things that are being complained about are actually important (to me). Then I'll start on the good reviews and try to guage the type of people writing THOSE reviews and whether I value the things they liked
Thank you for another great video. Loved the comments....and Hudson. Bit concerned about the person who was upset because the ship he/she was on stopped to pick up refugees! It’s the law of the sea, no choice! How would they feel if the situation was reversed?
Sharing tables can be hilarious. I like to go for the main dining room breakfasts with a full table service from the waiters. One time I got on a shared breakfast table for eight. One elderly guy, on his own got a bowl of cereal first and there was only two milk jugs, one full and one half empty. He empties the first jug into his cup ready for when tea comes round then comments that there is not enough milk. He takes the full jug for his cereal saying "I wonder if there will be enough milk in here, there's not much" Then he empties the second jug completely on his cereal saying "Oh yes, that was lucky just enough". I just look at all the other breakfast companions and wait for a reaction.
Those people were so ridiculous and funny! I've read and heard some crazy complaints! LOL! This was great!
Haha! Thanks so much. I wasn't sure if I should post this as it's just filmed casually on my sofa but it amused me so thought I'd share 🤣👌
@@EmmaCruises it's great! You should make more like this!

@@EmmaCruises YOUR WHATS APP NUMBER SEND ME PLSS MAM..
My goodness, what do you do with somebody like that? 🤣🤣🤣
Now that is a ridiculous complaint! 😅
He would likely have complained if he got the other side as the side of the river opposite New Orleans is mostly industrial.
🤔🤣🤦🏼♀️
Lol
Ooo that’s nice! I’ve found sometimes some people just don’t want to see the other side 😂👎🏼
Sounds like you guys had a great time! I think if I didn't like/get on with my table mates, I think I'd just shrug and go eat in my cabin. Why make a huge fuss out of nothing?
if people don't want to table share why go on a cruise with 5,ooo other people
Another approach is to ignore the other people at the table, which is what I do. Either way it is not a big deal.
I understand both sides of this. We had to share our table with another couple and it’s an odd thing to be thrown on you. I had no idea we would be doing this. It’s almost like they are punishing you for coming as a couple.
Some people are so self absorbed and expect to be treated like they are the only person on the ship.
Think how weird it would be if you were the only person on the ship!
Am not a cruiser but love hearing these 'Tales of the Entitled'. Keep them coming - you have a great channel
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks John!
You can’t make anything foolproof because fools are very ingenious.
Oh dear!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love it!
Haha! Hey Shelley! 😁✌️
People definitely are funny. A lot of the time they do want free things yep...
Emma, I'm a cybersecurity engineer. Thanks for the new term "techno-peasant." I'll start using it.
Good isnt it? 😂😂
@@EmmaCruises : Yes, it's interesting work and it supports my cruising habit. :)
Are those who techo-trousers are for? 😉
I once heard a co-worker call a customer techno-peasant (after hanging up) not nearly as frequently as luddite, mundane, or the like. We were working as tech support for Microsoft at the time.
It conjures up visions of a rave in a field. Ah, the good old days....
Yea!! So so true. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Very funny Emma, the funniest I heard was someone phoning customer services complaining they couldn’t get their microwave to work, they were asked by a puzzled agent where the microwave was and the agent explained that was their Safe unbelievable lol, I will post that in the group as well cheers Pete
My goodness. It's amazing these people exist 😂♥️
OMG - this actually happened? Humans!
I am cracking up with some of these, especially when people complain about people not speaking English in their country of origin.
Yes! I have no idea. Can't understand that one at all 😂👌
I'll admit, I felt for the guy complaining about "discrimination."
No, it wasn't discrimination.
As a Crazy Old Cat Man (we're much worse than Crazy Cat Ladies) this was worth watching just for Hudson.
That is such a good point! I hadn't thought of that ha ha. Thanks for your comment 🥳♥️

Thank you Emma for a humorous 10mins. It never ceases to amaze me the logic behind some folks complaints but they do make for good entertainment.

Haha! That sounds super 😍♥️

These have had me howling 🤣🤣 really brightened my day during lockdown
I hadn't seen this before, but it popped up. Thanks for the laughs.
That was one of your best videos Emma, got a good laugh out of it as found quite a lot of them petty complaints
Thanks so much Ben! I might do more. Very easy to make and fun too. Thank you 🥳♥️
As a handicapped senior I appreciate the assistance of the wait staff in cutting my meat and the waiters are always willing to help me.

Yep! Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks Viktor 😁♥️

Came back from a cruise with AIDA some years back. On the same train was a couple who vented their frustration about the fact that they only had buffets included in the cruise to the other passengers in the train departing Hamburg.
LOL Dining with strangers is not that bad. Its actually a great way to meet people.

Depends on your disposition.
I don't think I would enjoy it very much.

But who knows.
just found and subscribed to your channel, even in lock down you made me laugh

My GOODNESS! Indeed 😂♥️
What gets me is when someone writes this rave review about everything from the amenities to the service then only rates 2 or 3☆ - this baffles me
No doubt some of those daft complainers will now complain that a gorgeous ginger cat interrupted their viewing of your video. I think the problem here is that some people truly believe that the world revolves around them; anything that spoils their day HAS to be someone's fault. These ungrateful pillocks should be made to work as a room attendant for a couple of days, then they would really have something to complain about. Keep up the good work, Emma.
Haha! So so true Colin. I definitely couldn't do the jobs that cabin stewards and waiters etc do (well, I'd give it a go but I'd be awful 😂♥️)
"How dare a cruise ship pick up stranded castaways while I have to pay for my excursions like a sucker"! 😂
Aboit the food tailored to old people, i did see on another cruise video that the cruise lines run an algorith on the passenger data and make adjustments to the menus. For example if a sailing has 600 little kids theyre going to stock more chicken nuggets than the same cruise with mostly seniors.
I worked in customer service and used to get some ridiculous complaints.. love your kitty.
This was fun! Thanks Emma and Hudson!!
😀💕
I love listening to you
I love reading your comments! Haha. Too kind 😍👌
Thanks so much for the laughs!
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
"We missed our religious services because they were saving the lives of thirteen people..."
Seems like these people aren't getting the message from their religious services.
That's exactly how I read it too! Crazy 😂😂😂♥️
Yup they completely fail in their religious beliefs

Hahaha! I like your trust in Hudson 😂♥️
Thanks for watching and 99.9875% agreeing 😀👏🏼
As a child every girl wanted to be a cruise director just like Julie on The Love Boat lol. Fun times
🤣💕
I subbed...
Yes! Thank you so much. 😀❤️
This is so funny and has made my Sunday evening some people will complain about anything
Haha! So glad to hear that Wayne 😍♥️
Technopeasant, I like that word. I´ll start using it from now on :)
Ms. Emma - one hint; IGNORE the haters and be TRUE TO YOURSELF, real cruisers know stuff can happen and stuff happens.
COMPLAINT! Not enough Hudson in this cat video!🤣🤣🤣
Love your videos and loved these crazy complaints. I’m a nurse so have dealt with many crazy crazy people.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We've had people that died and their children because I'm going on cruises and right now it's just not a safe time to go but you wanna go but you're going to own risk and your risk your children's lives too ain't nothing worth that because you can go and never come back
Love your videos. What is "Boxing Day"? I see it on my American calendar, but have no idea what it is.
I recently saw a couple bring their little baby to the pool, carrying a little inflatable pool that they set in the slash border and the baby was quite happy to splash around "in the pool". When they left they emptied to inflatable in the shower. Great solution.
I think some people don't realise that they will eventually get old? madness. Love your videos and attitude Emma
Maybe they don’t 😂 Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
This is your best video yet. Had me laughing the whole time.
Loved seeing Hudson!
Eeek!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
very enjoyable with your video~~Thank you for sharing this for us!!!
Very welcome! Thanks for watching 😁
These were hilarious! Thanks for sharing!
PS. That last guy probably feels that ideally, the Titanic survivors should have been left to drift off into heaven.....
Yes this is why you shouldn't just be guided by ratings, you need to read the reviews to determine the kind of people writing the reviews - get a feel for what they value, whether they're realistic etc
When I read reviews I go thru all the bad 1s first and work out whether the things that are being complained about are actually important (to me). Then I'll start on the good reviews and try to guage the type of people writing THOSE reviews and whether I value the things they liked
Yep! That’s the best way to do it, very sensible 😀❤️
Thank you for another great video. Loved the comments....and Hudson. Bit concerned about the person who was upset because the ship he/she was on stopped to pick up refugees! It’s the law of the sea, no choice! How would they feel if the situation was reversed?
No idea! 😂 Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
