Recently finished a 3 year stint on cruise ships (pre-covid) as a very senior officer. I was one of the very few married guys who did not have a girlfriend on board:) Lets just say the moral standards on board aren't the best. There's 3 main categories, those who do it because they have to (for instance people from third world countries who've been cleaning rooms on board for 20 years, just to put their kids through uni), those who've made a career out of it and are very happy with the lifestyle and their on board "family", those (like me) who tried it and left because it didn't suit their lifestyle. A lot of people leave during their first stint and then there's others I spoke to who tried shore side jobs, but hated it and returned to sea. It's a weird place, either you love it or hate it:)

Wow, what a brilliant rendition, i just loved the way you presented, from a 63 year old i wish i had your skill 40 years ago. Well done and keep the info as easy to watch as this one.
I dated a woman on a cruise ship before who worked on the ship and figured out that she was playing with several men at once... and decided that was not the life for me! I would rather be true to my heart!
The first thing I would like to say is, that this is the best suggestion if someone wants to be a cruisecrew! And from first that you mentioned! Be aware of it....like she said ..You are very honest and I love it! I used to be a cruise crew but yeah, so true. 👍 I will continue to watch this video!!!! Well made!!❤️
I’ve been contemplating if I should leave my 9-5 job to pursue an experience working on a cruise. You’ve sold me I’m excited to start soon! wish me luck 😁
Update: DO NOT WORK FOR ACL 😭 My ship sucks anyways, the management is terrible and we are very short on staff so everyone is overworked 7 days a week at least 12 hours a day

Every single thing this girl said reminded me, with a jolt, of how I behaved when I was an officer on a cruise liner. Different night, different girl, different bed. A great life at the time, but not quite the way a guy ought to behave. So be warned girls. Sheis not a bitter and twisted old cow. She is exposing us ships officers as the the immoral, lecherous bastards that we really are.

As an old man, retired U.S. Marine (and married to the same wonderful woman for 35-years), I find quite a bit of 'life humor' in this video...because what you've just described is a mix of 'sea life' (been like this for hundreds, if not thousands of years), basic 'teen dating' (oh, my...he lied to me! imagine that), military deployment service (where are we going now? combined with 'hey, that food is inedible'...and 'they aren't treating us right')... Welcome to adulthood...it gets worse, until you figure it out and learn to live with it. Hey, at least no one is shooting at you for $800 a month!
BTW...my wife is stronger than most men...she doesn't pout, cry, throw temper tantrums or 'throw her hands up in surrender'...nope...she gets a 10-inch cast iron skillet and says, 'ok...now I'm only going to ask you this once, and then the pain begins'...THAT IS STRENGTH...especially when you figure out that NO ONE PROMISED YOU A FAIR LIFE.
At first I thought you were a Dancer on ships. I was a Showband musician on a certain Cruise line and the Entertainment department was mostly English, American and Australian. Everyone in other departments thought we were the lucky ones cuz we worked mostly at night and had some guest Priveliges. I used to grab free pizza up on the Lido deck after my gig. And of course there was the Crew Bar!! I became immune to Hangovers 😂 I still miss it in some strange way and still want to go back out to sea, so I know what you mean about getting hooked on it. I met my wife on a ship, she was a crew member so I’m stuck on land now. LoL
No doubt that cruise ship life is difficult, but it is also amazing. I can only imagine that life on the se ships will only be harder post pandemic. Even tho that this might be someones exit from the great financial problem after the pandemic, this will be a very challenging times for crew. Will there be any shore leaves? How will the crew activities be organised on board with all the social distancing in place? There are many questions, but not so many answers. I am wishing you good luck in your future cruise ship endeavours and I hope that your heart will not be broken again. Love your video!

Its as old as work itself. Every new manager is going to recreate the wheel. They most likely have no idea what jobs need to be done and how so they say things like "just do it this way" then when the mayday call goes out the bloke under said manager gets blamed.
My question is, with the constant change in supervisory staff, how does this affect personnel evaluations, pay, and promotions? Working in a lab I do very technical work. If I had to change processes all the time due to a leadership change as she faces, I'd get nothing done right.
