@@renerodriguez1876 nah he's joking I had been to a friend's Tissot ad and at his store all watches perfectly hit the seconds mark except for I think 3 or 4
I recently got PR100 PowerMatic 80 black face from Tissot in London. My father had an old Tissot watch about 35 years old that I wanted to get serviced , unfortunately Tissot said the watch was too old and parts would be difficult to source. As a valued previous customer Tissot have a scheme called Vintage part exchange of which this watch is available on. I part exchanged the old watch for this watch with some extra money and very happy I did. Also Tissot London gave me an additional £100 gift voucher valid for 3 years on purchase of another watch in the future. All in all really happy with Tissot as a company and far better service received than another famous Swiss watch manufacturer of which I have 2 watches. This Tissot is now my daily wearer and now after two months of wear very happy with it. Go out and buy one , you'll be glad you did. BTW Love your channel !
The first watch I bought for myself was a Tissot PR50 36mm 12 years ago with black dial and arabics. The clasp failed about 5 years ago so it's now on a black strap. Still going strong and LOVE the fact it has Sapphire crystal; banged about but not a hint of that on the dial. Nice one Jody and love the t shirt.
Some people may call this watch uninteresting, but I would say it is a versatile, extremely clean and very legible piece. I love the date window at 6 - wish that it was an option on more, at least dress pieces. It gives the watch a special visual balance. Throw it on a matte croc strap (which of course will cost the same as the watch itself) in the more dressy situations. And think about it - give it some better lume, a screw-down crown, maybe even titanium, and a little thinking outside the box. A budget alternative to the Datejust? No, thats probably blasphemous thinking. Thank you for the review and see you around.
Just letting you know, underneath the box you’ll find a little hole that you can use to slide a finger and get the books out of the bookshelf ;) Just a quick tip from another Tissot owner.
Hi Jody. I can attest to the longevity of the Tissot quartz movements. I have three Tissots. Battery's last about three years. My Tissot PRS 200 is approximately 15 + years old and the movement never has any issues. The lume is brighter than the lume in my Seiko turtle!. I liked the PRS 200 so much I bought the same model in gold with a royal blue dial on eBay about nine years ago (not working) popped a battery in it and it worked like a charm. I picked up another Tissot. A T-classic, last year with box etc from my local pawn shop for a mere $115. A great brand, under rated!
Ordered my PR100 automatic from Amazon a couple weeks ago, and it has already proved more than worth its price of $207. An ETA 2824 base-caliber but slowed to 21,600 VPH in order to eek out every last hour of the 80 hour power reserve. It keeps great time as well, looks like a proper dress watch and is a real Swiss made timepiece. I put mine on a leather strap and it looks fabulous.
Hey jody just a suggestion please review quartz more in the future especially something like seiko tuna or HAQ watches like citizen chronomaster. They're underrated because of quartz but the technology that goes behind it to achieve dead on accuracy is amazing.
You can pick up the Tissot t navigator on Amazon with eta 2836 automatic movement bi directional rotating solid stainless steel compass bezel, 100 meter water resistance watch with sapphire sandwich with stainless steel metal bracelet with butterfly clasp for $250. So Jody, for$50 more do yourself a favor and pick up that Tissot t navigator day date automatic. Or atleast pick it up for review, it's the best deal on a watch there is right now.

I have the automatic version (Powermatic 80) COSC certified. Extremely accurate (-1 seconds every two days). This will be kept forever in my collection. Tissot is really underrated, unfortunately.
I’ve had my PR100 quartz right on 10 years now. Blue dial, date at 3, Arabic 12 & 6, sticks everywhere else. Looks a million dollars. It does me for my everyday GADA watch.
I have had my PR100 quartz for 7 years now. White dial, date at 3, Arabic 12 & 6, sticks everywhere else. + 1 sec/day, my AD says pressure test 100 m still ok, a fine watch.
Tissot just excel at making beautiful, sapphire crystal watches without ruining them with the QC glitches that mar many of the Seikos of late. They remind me of late 80s Honda Accords: Affordable but with that little extra to put them ahead of the pack. Respect my G-Shock 5600, LOVE my Vaer S3 but a PR100 might just be the next one.
I fix watches and a while ago i had to repair the titanium version of this. I ordered the seals but they were taking a while to arrive so i called swatch. They said there was a problem and they've run out of seals so they would just send me a case complete free of charge. I thought fair enough. Few days later the seals finally arrive and i repair the watch. A week or so after the case complete turned up (that i no longer needed) so i managed to find a pr100 dial and hands and eta movement from scrap and built the watch for free for myself. Never worn it.
Great video and review. Looks like it would be a good gift idea. Especially if the recipient is not a watch fanatic. Edit: ...ok maybe even if they are a watch fanatic. It is a nice watch for two bills. Sapphire crystal, solid end links, and swiss made... The three S's.
I reckon a better deal and this might be the best deal in terms of value for money at the moment, would be a tissot luxury powermatic 80 chronometer. you get a very reliable powermatic 80 movement (80 hours power reserve) that is accurate within cost specs. the watch has a layered dial and is finished to a really high quality. The price? $295 only on jomashop for the black dial one which imo looks the best. mine has been giving -1 secs a day consistently
Nice ,elegant and clear watch. I have a little more busy prs200 and it is a great watch too. For some reason, Tissot lower echelon is populated with many superb watches.
I have the Matt blue dial one quartz I love it well made and well put together love it, pity it does not have a sissor clasp but it still has a quality clasp.
Thanks for this review, Jody, I have always valued Tissot as a brand but this one has not been on my radar. Like you, I have a mixture of quartz and mechanical watches in my collection and, as you pointed out, the PR100 is worthy of consideration. It is considerably more expensive in Canada, however.
Can you review the Orient Three Star. I think it's better than Seiko 5 with in house hackable movement. And it's Automatic and it's only about 50-80$ on amazon. The reason why they never mention because they kinda rare. And orient itself kinda doesn't know they made the series but its really good
Willie Falcon wears this watch. He was one of the most successful drug dealers in the 70s and 80s in Miami. He was let out of prison in 2017 and his only public appearence since his release was in the video of a Rick Ross rap song named Little Havana, wearing this very watch. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for you.
There is a COSC version available for $218 on Amazon, though personally not a big fan of the magnified date window. Still pretty cool though as not many brands bother to get quartz watches officially certified.
Tissot makes a lot of nice watches. Bought the Heritage 1936 in 2017. A remake of one of their models from 1936. Basicly a pocketwatch on a lather strap. Just love that watch.
I want to apologise to you for my ridiculous comment earlier! No excuse for it all.You have a great channel I as you know have always enjoyed. Please take no notice and carry on the good work.Len.
I own the pr100 titanium with black dial but it’s an earlier version with the date window at 3, it’s an awesome time piece, I like the weight in my titanium one I definitely can forget I’m wearing it 😁
Must say that I completely agree! I have a number of Tissot watches, including both a quartz Pr 100 and an automatic PR 100; I really like the Tissot counterweight on the second hand. There are other models, including a COSC certified chronometer, a chronograph with tenth of a second, and a dual time zone GMT.
I was considering a similar looking Tissot watch back in 2009. I think that the date was at 3 on that model. I got a Tissot booklet from Tissot and a Certina booklet too. Certina is not that much different looking than an average Tissot. I ended up with a Pulsar quartz with sapphire crystal PS9639X
This is pure understated class. That's why it makes a perfect gift. I'm not sure if it's as exciting as that frankenseiko you showed us a few days ago though
Ha ha! Bed time read!! Subtle comedy again or was that the total commitment to the craft! You Jody are the real deal! Keep it up mate! Cheers from Bengaluru India!
I got it as a present a few years ago. great looking watch, but i barely wear it because i can't stand the ticking seconds of a quartz. and i just can't feel its soul lol. great for going out though as it looks fancy like a rolex , and i wouldn't care too much if it gets stolen
Tissots are good watches for someone that wants a decent "Swiss Made" watch but isn't a watch collector and will wear the same watch everyday. If the watch collecting bug bites, then Tissots are a stepping stone to higher brands and are quickly left behind (even guys that play in the affordable space will move onto interesting microbrands and...Seikos and Hamiltons). For me, I had a quartz Tissot PRC200 Chronograph for years and wore it everyday until I started to be more interested in mechanical watches. I still have it in a drawer and one day I'll replace the battery and use it as a beater watch - great little thing with sapphire crystal, 20BAR water resist and the timer counts 1/10ths of a second as well.
Just bought my wife and I his and her's Tissots for Valentine's dinner surprise. Mine's the black Certified Chronometer T086, and her's is the Black Bridgeport. Men's but she likes bigger watches. I figure they'll be good for formal events, her in an LBD, me in my Prince Charlie and kilt.
What about the PR 100 titanium version? I own that one and prefer it - looks more interesting than just this boring metal color and the anthrazit dial is also more sophisticated. What's your opinion?
Jody, what do you think about this Tissot compared with the much more inexpensive Seiko sgg731p1, which has sapphire and is titanium? Can't decide... thanks!
I disagree. I think the PR100 is close to the perfect all-rounder for people who just want one watch. Suit or swimming pool as the man says. A cheaper alternative? Casio MTP-1183A-1AD
I have a Tissot Visodate, with black dial, gold plated and black strap and don't think it's sterile or charmless, I think it's a great elegant watch with everything well executed. The movement is nicely decorated, the day can be set to show red numbers for the day of a week, the crystal is domed and the second covers all the dial from the center but it's sligthly bended at the end to fit under the crystal. The dial isn't really black but anthracite, the indexes are gold plated applied. The thin crown looks really great and I like the vintage Tissot logo too. Overall, I think it's one of the best for the money (around $400). For $200, that Tissot is a good deal too and it looks a bit like the Oyster Perpetual. I will be looking to add a white dial dress watch at some point, my first choice would be a Visodate, but as already have one would choose between the Seiko SSA343, Certina Caimano Powermatic 80, Seiko SARB065 or maybe Orient Star Classic - which are all watches with charm too. They also have the Tissot Seastar and some nice and very inexpensive automatic Chronographs too. I think that within the Swatch group, Hamilton and Certina have more elegantly designed watches, but Tissot is a good brand too.
For about 5k more you can pick Grand Seiko Snowflake and for about 1 million you can get Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette Watch for Jacob and Co. Unleash your inner Mr. X get them and review them. Also get a small dog called Bond and hold him while you review, it attracts more viewers.
Jody Musgrove , are you anyway related to General Musgrove of the 1800 of Great Britain ? Tissot's are great watches my son has a visodate automatic and it is stunning! Cheers.
I almost flipped out at the price of $200 since I thought you were reviewing the powermatic 80 (which I just got for just under $300). Quartz or Auto, it is a beautiful watch.
The movement is really a deal breaker tbh. I'd like to see if those entry level tissot auto chronographs are any good, the ones with a ETA C01.211 movements. There's the Tissot Carson Chronograph available from Jomashop from US$365 right now.
Great review. A nice watch for the price. I personally don’t like it. This watch has an ETA FO6.111 movement. I looked it up on there website. I found it strange that a Swatch Group watch would have a Rhonda movement. I needed to make sure.
Great review. I have a 2015 version of this watch. It was a gift and I've worn it maybe 3-4 times. That same year and purchased a fashion watch (**cough Daniel Wellington**) and wore it a lot more. It was only until I started doing my own research on watches that my opinion changed. So now I've been wearing this watch again and appreciate it. The DW has been sold.
I wish Tissot would use their old logo (like the one on the Visodate) for these, and also match the date window. The 39mm all-dial looks great on you, but they always look like dinner plates on my 6.5-6.75 inch wrist. I will stick to my Glycine Combat 6 36mm, it is my 'dress' watch for people who don't like dress watches.
Someone surely decided the old logo "looked old" (outdated) and so, plain all-caps block letters today. Ironically, with "1853" forever reminding you "we're old." Another company with an identity crisis of their own making.
You've likely answered this question in a previous thread Jody, but how do you purchase from Amazon at the prices you quote when the majority of American Amazon.com listings don't allow shipping to an Australian address (even if being directly fulfilled by Amazon themselves)? I'm curious if you use some sort of international mailing service/P.O. Box specifically designed for Amazon purchases, just a little frustrated with amazon.com.au and their lack of competitive pricing at this stage.
I have a Tissot PRS516 Automatic Chrono, the one with the 7750 in it, and I love it. That being said, I really just don't find anything impressive with their pieces at this price. $200 for quartz? That's a lot if you ask me.
Can we just admire for a second a properly done quartz, where the seconds hand seems to hit the minute markers quite spot on?
I tried 15 PR100s until I found one where it hits decently. The reviewer got insanely lucky.

I got it as a present a few years ago. great looking watch, but i barely wear it because i can't stand the ticking seconds of a quartz. and i just can't feel its soul lol. great for going out though as it looks fancy like a rolex , and i wouldn't care too much if it gets stolen
Oh man, I've just finished recording a video in hungarian about my Tissot Classic Dream :D
You must read my mind from the other side of the world :D
I voted for this watch in a comment for the most versatile watch under 200!
Jody, what do you think about this Tissot compared with the much more inexpensive Seiko sgg731p1, which has sapphire and is titanium? Can't decide... thanks!
There is something charmless and sterile about Tissot watches. I don't know what it is as I normally love simple watches...
I think you have nailed it. Over the years I have tried to get interested in this or that Tissot, but I never could manage it.
Totally agree.
I feel the same, really can't point out what it is but I simply cannot get interested in a Tissot no matter how much value they offer :(
For about 5k more you can pick Grand Seiko Snowflake and for about 1 million you can get Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette Watch for Jacob and Co. Unleash your inner Mr. X get them and review them. Also get a small dog called Bond and hold him while you review, it attracts more viewers.
very simple and elegant!
Um... Where? I've been looking for a powermatic.
Edward Baldwin jomashop has them on sale right now with a code.
Interesting. Many of the things you mentioned remind me of my SNK361. If I could afford to ship it down to you I probably would.
Great video and love the shirt!!
Great value for money. Thanks for the review
The movement is really a deal breaker tbh. I'd like to see if those entry level tissot auto chronographs are any good, the ones with a ETA C01.211 movements. There's the Tissot Carson Chronograph available from Jomashop from US$365 right now.
*deal breaker for you
Great review. A nice watch for the price. I personally don’t like it.
This watch has an ETA FO6.111 movement. I looked it up on there website. I found it strange that a Swatch Group watch would have a Rhonda movement. I needed to make sure.
I thought this Tissot used a ETA F06. 111 but I'm not certain 😁
James Smith you are right, it says ETA FO6.111 Quartz 0n there website. Thanks. That makes sense.
They do on their Heritage models. I like it a lot better.
Someone surely decided the old logo "looked old" (outdated) and so, plain all-caps block letters today. Ironically, with "1853" forever reminding you "we're old." Another company with an identity crisis of their own making.
get your eyes checked
I would still like to remind everyone Jody damaged a "Seiko" !!
during one of his attempts of modding the poor thing 🐸
You've likely answered this question in a previous thread Jody, but how do you purchase from Amazon at the prices you quote when the majority of American Amazon.com listings don't allow shipping to an Australian address (even if being directly fulfilled by Amazon themselves)? I'm curious if you use some sort of international mailing service/P.O. Box specifically designed for Amazon purchases, just a little frustrated with amazon.com.au and their lack of competitive pricing at this stage.
Better than the SARB033 if you get the auto version?
Personally I just cannot wait to hear what Mrs Jody will say when you do a mod on this one mate! ......Glory be!
I have a Tissot PRS516 Automatic Chrono, the one with the 7750 in it, and I love it. That being said, I really just don't find anything impressive with their pieces at this price. $200 for quartz? That's a lot if you ask me.
