    Giving me some motivation to get my VL done. Only around the corner from you blokes! See you driving around soon. Or maybe catch you at the koombana car show and shine 👌🤙

      Absolutely Jay! We're hoping to get out and about while the weather is good. What have you got left to do on the vl?

      @@TorqHub still far too much. The rust is all cut and replaced. Got the ls conversion kit last week, need to paint the engine bay and throw it in. Its still a bare shell though

      Heaps of fun left to do then. At least the rust is all fixed. That's a major hurdle most never get through. Ls powered vl is a good weapon of choice for the street!

    I seen a white VK (not an opel) with a group a, or a group 3 kit in just commodores 25-30 years ago with a 350 chev. It looked mint. So I’ll have to dig through the storage because I suspect I’ve still got the magazine 👌

    Nearly 100k for a VH sle roller is pretty insane. I was just about to buy a roller for 14k before I watched this, now I'm spinning out....

      Don't let it scare you too much mate. Depending on your expectations and finding the right car, your costs will be ALOT less than what I've chosen to outlay, less than half even. But sometimes even 'good' shells may have hidden horrors. As with all old cars you just have to treat them as 'buyer beware'.

      @@TorqHub I've just been watching all the VH vids, such a huge help for when I'm looking at a car to see some of the common problem areas. Fantastic content, thank you so much! I was hoping to complete the whole build for under 100, it appears that a good shell is a big part of that goal.

      You absolutely can build a nice car for under 100k. Hell, there's some ripper finished cars out there which would leave you with change in your pocket! But if you're like me and you just enjoy making poor decisions 😅 spend the time trying to get THE BEST blank canvas you can find for the least money.
      I probably should have spent 40k on a finished roller, but there wasnt one available until I was already balls deep in this resto... and hindsight is always 20:20 lol

    How was Sean from @MotoringBox. He got stung on the painting for his M. Mmm. Mm. M. I can’t say it. Mmm. Mm. Magna. A guy with a bit of a profile and ouch. A heap of hard to come by money, gone. He gets his car back and it’s a mess. A hard thing to get through. Left him shook. Can happen to anyone.

      It sounds like an all too common story! Workshops biting off more than they can chew, or having no intentions of bring able to meet the brief, which doesn't become apparent to the customer until they're bucket loads of money into it.
      Very thankful to have such a stand up bloke like Simon in our corner, with rock solid advice and delivering gold standard results 🙏

    I think the real question is "how long till the cars done" 😂

    • @TorqHub
      @TorqHub  9 місяців тому +2

      Lol, that's the million dollar question! Honestly, if it's done in 18 months I'll be impressed.
