I like how at the end screen it shows all the bosses, seemingly fine, showing that they were nice people, it’s just that when they heard that the two brothers were coming for their souls, they just fought as hard as they could to save themselves. And the ending shows no hard feelings. A happy ending for all

Now these are amazingly well paced boss fights They give you just enough time to really appreciate the cool artstyle and backdrops always showing you different bossforms so you won't get bored and by the time you have seen everything of the boss you already beat him and the next one follows. I bought this game a couple of days ago and I played immediately. After 10 minutes I was crying because it was too difficult for me, but then, trying and trying, I beat the first bosses and moved to the next island. I would have never thought that I could have made it at the biginning.
What I love so much about these boss battles is just how funny it is that all these cute characters made deals with the devil. Even a carrot. A freaking Carrot made a deal with the devil. I guess that shows the true stakes of this game, they all know they gotta answer to the devil, and they’re are going to give you a lot of shit before they’re willing to bow down.

I love everything about this game. The music, so jazz and the art is so good with the goofy kinda older style of cartoons, characters are amazing. This game is truly a piece of art.
Hilda Berg might also be inspired by the boss, Noiman Cascade from Contra Hard Corps. They're both turn into Signs of The Zodiac with exact same choice (Taurus, Sagittarius and Gemini).

I love how stupid the ending is- I don't mean stupid in the usual sense, but think about it: the brothers just got done kicking the crap out of the entire town and they're like "Hey everyone! We know we kicked your asses and everything, but we beat the devil! No hard feelings right?" "Hooray! Those two people who've been massacring entire groups of things and kicked our teeth in saved us! Let's parade them around town as heroes!!!"
That didn't change their personalities (at least not entirely), those contracts were the same as the brothers, debts and souls the devil needed paying XP.
