I've never tried this style before, so of course I had to reference the amazing Sakimichan! ( / sakimichanart ) She's the queen of rendering anatomy, textures and characters. This is a beauriful piece and elegant process. I'm not sure if YT may demonitize you for it, but your figure drawing at 0:49 didn't censor the pelvis area too on the top drawing. Just a concern.

Love this actually. I often rant about how impressive certain nsfw artists are from a technical stand point and my friends think I’m super weird because of it. I can’t even look at sakimichan’s art from a non art perspective, it’s just impressive.
I’m not a fan of their art’s anatomy but they’re definitely super skilled in details and color
There is a ton of great artists out there... I'd say the NSFW community has the largest amount of great artists
@@DemonFox369 yes. It looks a little broken. Her style’s a little too rendered for the liberties she takes with anatomy. Her older art works a lot better in this regard and I wish she did less nsfw because I think it hurts the overall quality of the work. That said it clearly sells.
Yeah it’s so impressive. The shading, the light. Also it is super difficult to exaggerate proportions like that and still keep them aesthetically appealing and not off putting to the eye. Personally it’s not my cup of tea but there is still a lot you can learn from it without trying to recreate the style

I love how Ross went about this. He makes it clear that lewd/NSFW art is just another form of art. It doesn't come off as a holy than thou, he's just exploring a different art style

@@syrusangi8743 not talking about the boobs, she often does legs/arms/hands totally out of proportion or distorted. We know she likes thicc girls, but anatomy is not her strong skill.

@@anupambarua3407 We all know that. But one can see when something is purposely out of proportion (like "chibis", cartoony, etc), or when proportions are off because of lack of anatomy's studies.

honestly the simplicity of her tool choices despite the end result being quite elaborate is one of my favorite things about her art
I'm glad somebody talked about this genre of art in a mature way, and actually had something to add about it.

@@RainbowEntropy Artgerm, Samdoesart, Gweiz, Loish, a big enormous etc. Still, I grew up admiring these 3, and through the years I've never seen a small artist saying "I wish I could draw like Artgerm", and is not like he's not amazing or anything, you know perfectly what I mean. I also enjoy Artgerm's art very much 😘 I tried Corel Painter because of him, and guess what, I returned back to Photoshop because of Wlop, and Sakimichan, and Ross.
@@mushistrauss7360 Why do you think their styles are so popular? I personally prefer realism/post-realism and Sakimi-chan's art is cool but doesn't do it for me. Their bodies are too distorted for me, though huge assets are never unwelcome of course.
It's easy to "make fun" of NSFW artists like Sakimichan for obvious reasons, but in all seriousness, she is one of the best digital artists nowadays, in my opinion. You killed it, Ross! Perfect mix of your style and hers!

@@therealyonex532 people are prudes, there's a lot of anti-sex rethoric going around lately, people making fun or treating sexuality like it's the worst thing in the world. TumblR, PaypaL, WebtooN and a bunch of other big platforms actually banned nsfw for example.

@@mangowithagun7900 sadly they do in most of her works, along with tiny heads and broken thigh gaps. Doesn't mean she isn't very skilled though. She just throws out so much fully rendered art (every 2 days) that it's only natural quality is lost somewhere.
So many NSFW artists are sooo good and its a shame there is such a stigma around that style of art. Love this video
It really is ridiculous that people are so easily offended by it. Nudity has been a staple of art for centuries, but it's amazing to me that people still complain even in our modern times. A truly great NSFW artist usually has a better grasp of anatomy, composition, and several art fundamentals than most artists do.

Honestly it’s pretty insane when you’re subbed to her patreon cause has entire terms of photos made twice a month with detailed tutorial videos for each term.
I have a video voice-over of her painting a portrait of Spider Gwen and it's only 2.5 hours. Not edited at all, as far as I can tell. She just painted a fully-rendered whole portrait in 2.5 hours. How?!
Sakimichan and Ross were the first artists I started to follow 5/6 years ago and his art style always gave me Sakimichan vibes!

Lol I didn't know Sakimi-chan is that famous. Also about NSFW... as time passes I slowly getting more and more confused about it. It's not a bad thing showing less or no clothes on your characters when you draw them, because a drawing of just a nude human isn't bad thing, there is 3 things called, anatomy, references and most importantly - human esthetic. In my opinion what makes them truly NSFW is what the characters do

These were my thoughts as well. Personally, I don’t think this piece that Ross did is “NSFW”. Like you said, I don’t think something should be called “NSFW” unless they are doing something explicit.
@@mingautumns4238 Well the whole term of “NSFW” doesn’t necessarily mean explicitly lewd/engaging in sexual acts, it just means “Not Safe For Work.” Meaning that it’s stuff that you shouldn’t be looking at while working. Everything from just naked models to actual porn and gore falls under NSFW. Even if the model isn’t in a sexual situation, it’s still taboo to look at naked people in any context when you’re at work.

totally agree, when I first followed Sakimichan she wasn't drawing insanely huge tits or butts, I really loved her style back then, when she started her 100% erotic style, I had to unfollow her :/ still admire her skills tho, just wish she draw normal bodies from time to time...

NSFW art is one of the best ways to expand your art, the fun way. xD and a good way to erase the mental barrier of the opinion of others in your art developpement. This is a good way to just say "I am free to draw whatever I want and you people are not in position to judge or force me not to do draw this or that".
But in skin texturing for NSFW art, my favorites are Logan Cure and Neoartcore. Even the veins under the skin are represented and that's amazing.
it has been a while now, i wanted to do those Really cool sexy pinups with nudity(Not porn tho), but i always get shy AF if my parents ask me to show to them, i have nothing against nudity, i actually appreciate the human form but i dont know about them.

I'm personally not a fan of SakimiChan's art just because it doesn't really appeal to me with the way proportions are overexaggerated to reach an audience that is... not me, lol. From an artistic POV obviously extremely impressive, but just not my tea.

I really like how Sakimi renders thin cloth. Usually find her pin ups where the character is more fully clothed far more sexy than the nude drawings.
Must be because fully nude stuff leaves nothing to the imagination. Like, what else is there to bare if you have nothing left on your body?
@@NayrAnur I don't think it's that for me. I've seen plenty of nude bodies in my years of taking life drawing and there's something really beautiful about getting to see someone naked. But that's probably unique to seeing them irl. Seeing a naked body on an image isn't special. At least not in this day and age. This is more so true with naked anime girls because they're streamlined to be absent of any quirks or flaws in their body. Sure I like me a feathery soft looking boob but it's not anything special when they're all drawn the same way.
I think maybe I find the clothing more sexy because it is an expression of character desgin. There is a visble sense that the artist put time an care to rendering a specific look and desgin for the character because when it works it WORKS! And it adds so much more to the look of a character. Plus lingerie is clothing that teases the eye and a tease if far more tantalizing than something that is just there and fully within reach. A tease gives a sense of mystery and yearning there's a process there. But a nude pin up there's just not much going on there. Granted this is probably more of a pin up issue. Because it's not the nudity that makes it one note but the way it's used.

Mm all her artwork is generally with the character in clothes and than she makes renditions of that character in nude for her patreon subs. I don’t know if a lot of people realize that. You only get the nsfw version if you’re subbed to her.
@@ygs497 I'm pretty sure most people do know that; she makes censored posts of the nude ones to promote her patreon. That still doesn't change the fact that I think the characters look sexier in the various outfits outifts she draws them in rather than the fully nude versions.

We need to appreciate Ross and his work, he is a legend!
One of the main views of NSFW/Adult work is that people still see them as "taboo" and "icky" when there's nothing wrong with those forms of art they just are appealing to a different demographic of people, specifically adults. The issues come when people scream "but the children" when those artists make it as clear as day that their work is meant for adults with warnings and all and when people scream "They're not real artist" when they put endless amounts of hours and studying and learning to make the work they do. Some people just refuse to believe that there are artists who actually enjoy drawing these types of mediums simply because they were taught or told to feel gross about it. There are tons of artists out there who draw some unique things or things I don't understand but just because I don't get it doesn't mean you aren't an artist. (Of course, only do adult work if you are an adult) 💙

what i actually like about Pinups is that you need to be creative with very little.

Pose, Expression, Camera angles is what makes a good pinup, you just cant throw in an huge amounts of gadgets and details on the character, you actually need to be conscious of what and where you are putting your details.
