I got mine this week and I’m way impressed. Butterscotch Blonde, pine body, made in Indonesia. Looks, sounds and plays beautiful. I own 2 Les Pauls (Gibson and Epiphone), 2 American made Strats. This this thing holds it’s own against any of them and then some. Has the signature Tele twang on the bridge pickup, warm bluesey or jazz tone on the neck, and crunchy rock tone in the middle. Easily the best 400 bucks I ever spent. If you’re looking to add a Tele to your arsenal (like I was) buy this guitar, you will not regret it.

And yes, the body is made out of pine - but here's what you may not know. The very first Telecasters were made out of - drumroll - PINE. Not Alder, not Ash, not Mahogany, nor some other exotic wood - PINE. So you're getting a Telecaster that very closely matches the ORIGINAL Telecaster Leo Fender made. So if you are on a tight budget and you can't go the Patriotic route, I suggest you go to Guitar Center and play this guitar. I liked this guitar so much, I also bought the 72 Thin Line Classic Vibe Telecaster from Squire (its actually more along the lines of the 69 Thin Line as it only has single coils in it instead of humbuckers and it just drips Outlaw Country music, but you can play anything you want with it). I use them both extensively, from Nashville Super Picker Chicken Pinkin' to modern rock and roll. And if you want to go Deep South Blues Man with a de jure Mississippi String Tie, then tune this guitar to either Open D or Open G and grab you a slide and plug into an amp with a tremolo - you'll have'em feeling the blues from the Old School.
@@powbobs You may like a "C" shape neck - not the "modern C". The Modern C is slightly thinner. I had a Mexican Tele that I sold because I stopped playing for a while. I just bought this squier because I did not have the budget for a fender but the thing is that I am amazed by this one
I watched an Epiphone video from Namm this morning and was amazed how close Epiphones' Original & Modern Collections mirror their Gibson counterparts. Good times 👌
Great review! Thanks for playing slow, deliberate chords through each of the switch positions. Much better than 1 million staccato notes through all 12 of someone’s boutique pedals. It was all about the guitar, and only the guitar. Ace job. 👍🏻
The last 45 years I've owned 68s, 67s, 72, Esquires, Mex,China, Japanese.......And I have to tell you, my Classic 50's vibe has outplayed them all. Great guitar.
I have used my Classic Vibe over the past few years and love it more each time I play it. I own over 250 guitars, many high end and this is one of my favorites. In fact I liked it so much I bought four of them and they all play great. I even got my hands on a special one thst Fender made for a very short time with a Jazzmaster pickup in the neck position and a Jazzmaster neck and thot is one of my go to guitars.
They all have their own character. For me its a matter of how I feel when I pick one up. Im toying with the idea of the Anniversary Squire or the Cafbonita Paranormal maybe even a Road-worn Tele
After watching your review I decided to buy the Classic Vibe '50s Tele. I received it today and it is absolutely beautiful. I expected it to be nice but it's much better than that. This is a high quality instrument. I was most happy with the neck. I love the high gloss finish too. Not sticky at all. The negatives are it came poorly set up. The action is too high but I can deal with that. The neck is somewhat thin but it fits my hand perfect. My first good guitar was a new 1974 Tele with a clear natural body and a Rosewood neck. I paid $399 for it. I always regretted selling that guitar but it was way too heavy. Not this one. I like this Classic Vibe even more. It's ironic I paid $399 for this guitar too 45 years later. The one I received was dated 4/28/20 and it was made in China. Outside of the setup I couldn't be happier. Landon, thanks for the review.
I started playing electric guitar when I was about 14 years old. That was over 40 years ago. Entry level guitars back then were crap. I wish I had one of these as my first guitar. I've had one of these for about a year now. It's about my 15th guitar. I absolutely love it, it's a keeper. It would be a fantastic first guitar. It will probably be a guitar you will keep for decades if you play for that long. Good enough to play any gig with. Good luck with your guitar playing, I hope it brings you as much joy as it has to me. There's a good reason so many people play teles. Great guitars. Mine has brass saddles.
This is a fantastic first guitar. And actually is a guitar you can easily use for live gigs and holds up great! So Im sure you will always want to keep this guitar with you. And the great thing about this guitar is that the neck profile is very comfortable and an excellent choice for someone that is starting.
I think the 50s classic vibe series squire is what Leo fender had in his head before any tone was ever heard to the public. It sounds traditional and looks the best of all 3 butterscotch variations including the affinity series and the player series telecasters.
the guitar reached my hand yesterday. satisfied me with both its quality and its satisfying voice. At first I was caught between the strat and tele. but after watching Landon's comparison video I got a telecaster. I would recommend it to everyone. thanks landon
I’ve revisited this again as I bought mine back yesterday. Great video ! Truly a great guitar for the money. I will never sell again. Thanks for deep dive 👍🏼
Being a lefty this is one of the few guitars I've played in a shop. This was several years ago and I was surprised by how great it felt and how easy it was to play. It looked amazing too, though the neck did feel a sticky.
Yah, Squier doesn't do gloss necks very well. They're always sticky for me too. Thankfully they have next to no resale value, so there's nothing to be lost by taking a scrubbie pad to the neck and taking the gloss off.
Been watching this video now for about 2 years and I decided I had to get one. I just received mine today and I am totally blown away. Amazing-looking guitar the wood grain the feel the neck I even like the pickups on it sounds really nice. I think the only thing I'm going to change on it as I'm going to go with a brass saddles just to give it that more vintage look. Other than that I am really impressed with the guitar I think it's beautiful, it sounds amazing I'm totally happy with it. I think I just found my new favorite guitar. Thanks again Landon for everything that you do.
I found one at a pawnshop a few years ago. I love it! Sounds great, plays great. The previous owner did a couple of mods to it. I just finished fine tuning the setup and it’s playing like butter! They really are great guitars!
I've Been A Stratocaster Man My Whole Life. Recently My Brother In Law (Who Has Been Playing Bass Since 1972 & Has A RIDICULOUS Bass Collection!!!!) Asked Me If I Had A Telecaster. When I Told Him "NO, STRATMAN TIL I DIIIIIE!!!!" He Gave Me A Disappointed Look. I Guess I'm Going To Have To Make Him Happy After All....AND MYSELF, TOO!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!! 😛
A few weeks ago I bought the same Classic Vibe......GREAT GUITAR!!!! .....418 euro. I change the tuners for Hip Shot tuners and the bridge for a Wilkinson. Thanks for the great video, best regards from The Netherlands.
I have brass saddle , great guitar , i have two , open g , open e , standard an open d on the 6 stringer and i replaced both input jacks right away , the only problem , i have alnico 5's on both
I like the vox , i bought a monoprice 15 wat put in a jensen mod 12 70 wat an reverb mod tank an jj elec tubes it is equal to a fender blues jr which is almost $700 an i have $400 in my monoprice, it sounds just as good as the fender blues jr
Great guitar , scotch brite the neck an drop in some electrosocket input jacks in , stock sucks an try ernie ball 2221 an you will be happy happy happy , hell i love them
Plus i bought an empty cab an put another jensen 12 70 in an run the x cab off the monoprice , x cab is solid wood ply an twice as big , cab $120.00 speaker $75.00
I got one for Christmas a good few years ago and it has serve me well, I’ve got guitars which are ‘better’ in terms of quality but that telecaster i can never get rid of or upgrade it to fender. There’s something about this guitar that has a unique charm and sound that I can’t stop thinking about!!!
I just got one for $300. It was from a guy on Facebook, but it’s brand new. It needed a setup. But after I worked out the radius and action of the strings, it plays like a dream.
I love me a tele. It was a Squier classic vibe strat that I bought new for $279 about 10 years ago that got me back into playing electric. I swore I would never part with it until I did for a classic vibe tele. They are great guitars but I do prefer a bare wood neck. So many great guitars well under a grand these days. Peace
I bought one a couple of years ago. I swapped out the electronics, and got a Fender brass saddle bridge. It's absolutely brilliant. I can't imagine that I, as a relatively new guitarist, would ever realize a benefit from switching to a Fender branded guitar. the Squire CV series looks great, sounds great, and is affordable.
I absolutely love mine I bought a couple years ago. But mine has the brass saddles, which I really dig for the “vibe” of it. And I think it was made in Indonesia. Even tho I may eventually buy a Player, this is my #1 Guitar to play live with!! Again, another great review!
Brass saddles and tonerider pickups. The old ones were a win. Put gotoh vintage tuners, CTS pots, fender switch ,orange drop condo, treble bleed and rewire all. Killer beast for a few dollars more yeah!
I love mine! Got it 2 years ago and this one affordable guitar that is crafted perfectly and sounds great! I have not changed anything on it except the strings. Switched to 10 but will go back to 9s. Cheers!
I went to a local shop to play some new Fenders. It was until I hung up a pretty damn good guitar that I really liked playing that I saw It was a Squier CV. It was hanging with some Fender Vintera's. Well, I could have never guessed with my eyes closed that it was a Squier. They nailed it this time ;-) They really did!
@Keith Clark ...I've been playing for over 50years and every American made guitar that I have picked up here in Australia has been absolute rubbish. I wouldn't buy an American made guitar with someone else's money.
I was never a Tele guy .Been playing since 1979. I was checking out a used Strat at Guitar Center and out of the corner of my eye I saw a used classic vibe just like yours. Mint condition $250. I played it and had a moment. Tuned to open G Started hitting Keith mode and bought it. A little late to the party but better late than never, Great Guitar, Keith approved. Been jamming to Exile ever since. Next up Roy Buchanan & Danny Gatton. That should keep me occupied. Oh and came with a PRS gig bag oddly enough.
I get one Squier cv 50´s in the same colour... it was yesterday. I think its a guitar very well done for the price, only 375 euros. Thanks for your video, from Andalucía, Espain.
21 Tele in olympic white, maple neck - brand new in '72. I've owned more than 100 guitars, including Fenders similar to the one this one intends to emulate ('52 Vintage Reissue, for example). I've owned dozens of other Strats and Tele's, from Mexi's to Custom Shop models. Somehow Fender has elevated these Vintage Vibe models to the point that they exceed the Mexi's consistently, and often match or exceed the American-made versions. I have a Vintage Vibe Tele Custom, having owned an original '72 model (bought new), a later Japanese version, and then a Mexi. Of the latter three, the Japanese model was the best, but the Squier VV comes very close (the original being the dog of the bunch, lol). These particular Squiers are a steal at a minimum, and better guitars than even the Americans in some cases.
I have one too. The only mod I’ve done is Obsidian electronics it might be my imagination but that change made it sound better and the new pots are like butter.
At the price it’s a steal, well put together good sound pups are fine. I agree about the 3 way selector, I’d probably swap it out but it’s not a big deal. Not much to complain about as for the neck a light sanding to stop that sticky feel would be a must for me. I was also impressed how neat the soldering was and the good the shielding
Here in 2022. I absolutely love my butterscotch MIC CV 50s Tele. It's been my main workhorse for years. I have the two-tone burst MIC CV 50s Strat as well, and it's a killer too. The CV line is absolute bang for your buck.
I have a made in china one that I bought a few years ago, mainly to use with Rocksmith. It is a beautiful guitar. Mine has the bass saddles, also I noticed the knobs on mine have more of a dome shape on top, and the logo on the neck plate is a little different. I love it!
I really like the Classic Vibe series. I’ve got a 50s P-bass. The pickup sounds great. It’s fairly light. The colour (lake placid blue) is amazing. The neck is amazing. The stickiness goes away over time.
That comes across as one fine instrument Landon. Great sounds and it looks very comfortable to play. The sticky neck is such an easy fix. Can’t wait to see the affinity and others comparisons 👍
OutRAjious sand it down. If your not comfortable with the job a repair person can do it with no drama. Just enough to take off some or all of the finish, not anything drastic to reshape the neck contour.
OutRAjious start with 200 grit sand paper and sand for about 3 minutes all over the back of the neck. Touch it up for a minute or two with 1000 grit and you’ll have a fantastic neck in no time. Just sand even and you’ll be fine. I did it to my CV 50’s Strat!
This squire classic vibe 50 telecaster is not like the ones problem about a year ago back... It had brass saddles medium jumbo frets ALNICO 5 pickups... The one here has pop metal saddle tall narrow frets ALNICO 3 .. WHY... TO SAVE MONEY. PLUS WENT FROM 379.99 TO 399.99....
I have a Classic Vibe Custom Sunburst. It's double bound. I love it. It's based on early 60's models. Plays great. The original alnico pickups have grown on me. The sunburst and wood grain are very nice and there are no knots. Only complaint is some really ugly grain on the back of the maple and laurel wood neck. The neck is really well made and comfortable to play though. People that don't know about guitars think it's my nicest guitar. I have a black MIM Tele that I play a lot more because I'd rather scratch it up than the Squier.
Squier hit it out of the park with this one, I've had mine for a year now and it's been a go to guitar for recording, happy with the pick ups and electronics, plays great, I did sand the neck a bit, did the same with my Squire Cabronita, I've had for a couple of years and it really helps the playability. Great review, mate!
When I was in the market for a Tele 72 Deluxe, I looked at the Classic Vibe and the Vintera, which is the most affordable Fender-branded Deluxe. For me, a non-gigging home player, I couldn’t see paying more than 2x for the Vintera just to have the Fender logo on the headstock. My CV Deluxe is awesome in every way. They are great guitars!
I noticed that for this 2nd generation CV's telecasters vs the first-run 50's Teles ( mine is a 2014 ) that the string tree has been given a shift. In the first generation run, the tree is next to the 'r' whereas this one is next to the 'S'. It makes a difference. Next, the first generation came with brass saddles, not just any brass saddles, but with grooved brass saddles so the strings won't move. These features make a difference. This one is nice and it comes close, but not the same. Cheers!
I traded my USA tele for this model primarily because the neck was much kinder to my arthritis. I may change the pickups down the road but for now they will be just fine. I don't gig so it's okay for the music room. Overall very pleased.
Like the other guys that gave this guitar a thumbs up, I too have had a ton of guitars. I ordered the one I have from a guitar shop in Tenn. I live in NC. It was a floor model that everyone played in the store. I got a great deal because of this. I think it was around $350 with shipping. I was kinda freaking out waiting on it. Finally the day came and it was everything I wanted in a Tele!!! I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone. I have two very expensive american Telecasters and this one is my number one. I love it! Squire is one of the most underrated builders in my opinion. It has to many good things to list here' but I will say that on mine the neck is all one piece and not a glued on fretboard. No one has mentioned this. Anyway for your first guitar a definitive YES!!!!!!!
Heh, I've ordered Squier Classic Vibe '70s Telecaster Custom few days ago after watching your review. Now I want to order this one, as it sounds more twangy and the color is so nice.
Got my Telecaster and it's really good looking guitar. One thing is bothering me though. 3 barrel saddle bridge seems a bit high. I really need to squeeze those strings, almost like an acoustic. Is that normal or should I have it checked out by an expert? Thanks
Amp is everything. That guitar sounded thin, but i know it is not because i have a classic vibe and am playing it through a fender amp and it sounds fuller.
Thanks for taking your time to make this video. Although it is 2 years later, I just ordered the same guitar today. I 've watched several of your videos and love them all ! Excellent productions...
A brilliant guitar by tone, looks, tuning stability and feel! Competes with higher priced guitars easily...I have the brass saddle version with new electronics and other pick ups " gristle ton" that thing is a beast! Great deep dive love it!👍
I have one. It’s an unbelievable guitar for the money. I have american fenders and Gibson’s and play this just as much. Probably more in fact because it’s relatively inexpensive so there’s no real worry if it gets damaged lying around - and so I use it to practice or compose.
@@landonbailey Yes, but to play devil's advocate we are seeing price raises in product that far exceed the rate of inflation. At the same time we are seeing salary stagnation or raises that are less than the rate of annual inflation.
I'm a Squire fan. Have the Dou-sonic,'72 Tele custom, the Jagmaster, and a couple strats. Also a replica of the 97' Hendrix Tribute. Jade with Squire parts. But the owner did some wiring that makes it sound amazing. Squires have smaller necks. Good for a hobbit .... like me.
Another great demo / review! Beautiful guitar. However, everyone that I have tried has that heavy pine body. Somehow I woke up one day and I was old. I prefer the Squier Affinity Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster. It is lighter in weight and I think I like the string top load better. As always, You Are Great! I enjoy your videos.
I had purchased one of these in early January this year and I have to say that this is one of the best guitars I have played for a decent price. I was in the market for a budget guitar and I got more than I wanted out of it. The pickups sound great and I don't plan on changing them, the review of the neck in this video said that it felt a little sticky because of the finish is quite possible but I didn't find that on mine. As far as the switch goes I would say it could use an upgrade but I think there pretty solid just stock. I would definitely gig with this guitar and put them up against some of the more expensive Mexican Fenders. I'd love to try one of the Stratocasters. Over all these guitars are very well built and have no problems showing off that it's a Squire. Brand snubs should check em out I don't think you'd be disappointed. Squire really have gotten better as the years go by and this Classic Vibe line is one of the best.
I got one earlier this year too and its been great so far. I'm pretty impressed with the bridge pickup, and the quality is pretty close to my made in Japan 50's style strat too
I don't know if they've made any changes in it since I bought mine in 2013 but I love that guitar. Mine has brass saddles and it looks like your newer one doesn't. A few years ago I had to sell off 2 of my guitars and four of the five amps I had, keeping the cheapest of each, the CV and Boss Katana 50. I'm glad I kept them. The only change I made on the CV was putting a real bone nut on it. It's on the heavy side and I've thought of modifying the body with cutaways, which would also make it more comfortable to hold. I like the stringing set up. Looks good. I keep thinking I'm going to strip off the finish on the back of the next so it plays easier.
Just bought one a week ago and love it ... thanks for this video.. it helps hearing it though good equipment especially Vox and playing Radiohead 🍻 cheers it’s why I got one
The neck is a bit slim for a Tele, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The jack on mine wasn’t great so I replaced it with a better one. Some of the metal tarnished quickly. Otherwise it’s the best value in a guitar I’ve ever seen. Far better for and finish than a Fender Classic Player Strat I bought since. Fretwork is lovely, stats in tune, lacquer was perfect. Pickups are great as well. Just a well made guitar. Absolutely good enough to gig or record with.
From Leo: I have been pretty impressed with the Classic Vibe Squiers. I have a Strat and Jazzmaster CV and they have been great. I agree about the classic tuners, I like them, and you never have a sharp string end poking you. I don't know why some modern tuner company does not make a version like a vintage so you can get the 18 to 1 ratio with the hole in the middle.
I ordered the blond Squier Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster and should get it sometime tomorrow. I'm a complete beginner, but I thought this would be a perfect guitar to start out on for me. Thanks for your review video.
I've been playing one of these for about 5 years. Mine came with the brass saddles, which I think look a little better. I haven't had any problems with the pickup selector switch. It's a very playable guitar, and I like the tone just fine. I did sand the back of the neck with some very fine wet/dry sandpaper. It was quite quick and easy to do, doesn't look bad at all, and makes the guitar much more playable. Although I like the vintage tuners, I think the guitar needs a little more tuning than my G&L ASAT Tele, which I actually play more than the Classic Vibe. Don't get me wrong. The CV is a beautiful guitar, which I'll never part with, but I find the pickups in the G&L just a little more versatile.
Actually they seem to have downgraded the saddles, as they're not made of brass anymore. The other difference I noticed are the adjustment screws for the neck pickup, which are above the pickguard now, so you don't have to take it off anymore to adjust the pickup - which is good.

I think Epiphone is stepping it up in 2020 because the Squier line is so good.

Here in 2024 to say I still love my 2015 MiC CV 50s butterscotch Tele, and its sister 2016 MiC CV 50s Strat in two-tone burst rules too. Love ‘em!
This is my favorite ever Fender product. I'll take it over both 60s and 70s instruments I've owned.
Landon, thanks for the review.
nice! ya I never consider a setup a terrible thing, can always be fixed to your liking
Bought one at a pawn shop for $109 best guitar ever
The neck on this is done so well, love the gloss look and feel
considering getting one of these for my first electric, seems like a lot of bang for the buck when looking for a Tele style.
RebSike YES YES YES YES!!
@@visitorstoourbirdbath2272 Thanks for the insight and good wishes friend, I just got mine today, it's a beaut. I'm excited to learn on it!
Very nice!
I’ve revisited this again as I bought mine back yesterday. Great video ! Truly a great guitar for the money. I will never sell again. Thanks for deep dive 👍🏼
Just ordered one yesterday, it's tough to wait. Thank you for the reassuring review!
Hope you enjoy it!
So good to have a sound demo without clean tones. And not so much shredding.
Thanks again Landon for everything that you do.
hey cool! enjoy
I have the classic vibe custom. New pots and a new capacitor and it sounds even better!!!!!! Highly recommend!
even in the mexican version those are the changes (y)
I own to Classic Vibe Tele’s, a 70’s Deluxe and an Esquire. I could not love a human child as much as I love those two guitars!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I found one at a pawnshop a few years ago. I love it! Sounds great, plays great.
The previous owner did a couple of mods to it. I just finished fine tuning the setup and it’s playing like butter!
They really are great guitars!
I bought one about two years ago. Absolutely love it. Amazing guitar.
Thanks for the great video, best regards from The Netherlands.
cheers!

I have brass saddle , great guitar , i have two , open g , open e , standard an open d on the 6 stringer and i replaced both input jacks right away , the only problem , i have alnico 5's on both
What pick ups are on that 19
I like the vox , i bought a monoprice 15 wat put in a jensen mod 12 70 wat an reverb mod tank an jj elec tubes it is equal to a fender blues jr which is almost $700 an i have $400 in my monoprice, it sounds just as good as the fender blues jr
That Vox Sounds great with the Tele
ya it's great!
Peace
did you end up sanding the neck?
Lando27Music yes I did remove the sticky finish
Again, another great review!
thanks!
Brass saddles and tonerider pickups. The old ones were a win. Put gotoh vintage tuners, CTS pots, fender switch ,orange drop condo, treble bleed and rewire all. Killer beast for a few dollars more yeah!
someone on another review suggested the saddles are plated in nickel but brass.. possible? misinformed?
I know that's the case for the Fender Ultra line, but not sure about this one
Mine is a Chinese 2019 model with the brass sadles, Indonesian ones have the plated saddles. Different frets also.
I love mine! Got it 2 years ago and this one affordable guitar that is crafted perfectly and sounds great! I have not changed anything on it except the strings. Switched to 10 but will go back to 9s. Cheers!
nice!
I agree, 9's sound terrific on this guitar. Wouldn't trade mine for anything.
Unless you plan on pawning your guitar,
I see no reason to pay Fender prices when the Classic Vibe tele ROCKS.
ya there’s money in the Fender name for sure
I sold my Fender Strat and kept my Squier Classic Vibe Strat. Crazy good stuff
🎸👍
I went to a local shop to play some new Fenders. It was until I hung up a pretty damn good guitar that I really liked playing that I saw It was a Squier CV. It was hanging with some Fender Vintera's. Well, I could have never guessed with my eyes closed that it was a Squier. They nailed it this time ;-) They really did!
I just got the green today, butterscotch was the other choice. That was so tough. I love it
Good choice!
Really like the alnico pups. Nice clarity while retaining that tele sound. Goes well with OD too. THANKS!
cheers!
So they are alnico?
Squire will take you higher. Classic vibes 50's beast mode.
I had one. It soon became my go to.
cool!
had one since 2011. got it 4 $200 w/tweed hardshell case. tuned to open G (keith richards' tuning). i love it
nice! 🎸👍
Better than any American made high end telecaster or any American made guitar.
Oh and came with a PRS gig bag oddly enough.
best year ever! ua-cam.com/video/yuj5eMoL2e0/v-deo.html
I have the 60s custom tele... I love it :3 the classic vibe gives quite good quality for the money
I get one Squier cv 50´s in the same colour... it was yesterday. I think its a guitar very well done for the price, only 375 euros. Thanks for your video, from Andalucía, Espain.
Sorry for my poor english.
cheers! don't apologize 🎸👍😊
I can’t remember commenting on this one for some reason. I think it sounds really good! Squier has come a long way.
The only mod I’ve done is Obsidian electronics it might be my imagination but that change made it sound better and the new pots are like butter.
hey cool. it probably did make it sound better. that's one of the claims on Obsidianwire's site. clearer tones.
I'm here too!
@@landonbailey Lovely! I'll never sell my CVs. Love 'em!
The stickiness goes away over time.
nice! thanks for the tip re; the stickiness. I'll see :)
That comes across as one fine instrument Landon. Great sounds and it looks very comfortable to play. The sticky neck is such an easy fix. Can’t wait to see the affinity and others comparisons 👍
Tom Corr how to fix the sticky ness ?
OutRAjious sand it down. If your not comfortable with the job a repair person can do it with no drama. Just enough to take off some or all of the finish, not anything drastic to reshape the neck contour.
OutRAjious start with 200 grit sand paper and sand for about 3 minutes all over the back of the neck. Touch it up for a minute or two with 1000 grit and you’ll have a fantastic neck in no time. Just sand even and you’ll be fine. I did it to my CV 50’s Strat!
@@HenryPipes thanks for the info on turning a gloss neck into a satin
Exactly the info demo video I was looking for ✔️ thanks ... I think I can live with this squire
glad it helped!
Best Squier EVER!!!!! It has better sound and look than a MIM standard.
Thanks Landon for being my all things Tele go to guy!! A budget guitar for those who don't have an unlimited budget.
cheers Peter!
Thank you sir!
I have a black MIM Tele that I play a lot more because I'd rather scratch it up than the Squier.
that model looks great too 🎸👍
Just bought one today. Always wanted a butterscotch Tele. Gave my 93 MIM Tele to my son.
nice!
Great to hear!
Mate I am so glad you left a green mile and started doing guitar reviews. Classic vibe is shipping my way! Great review thank you!
ya it was too depressing there and the benefits package wasn't great 😆
Landon Bailey haha love it!
They are great guitars!
nice!
I think you got the better guitar anyway!
Cheers!
Also it has the medium jumbo frets not the tall and narrow they have now
It’s made for classic Country lets make Guitar great again!
play what works for you! 🎸👍
Hell yeah, I wonder if it's as thick as a fender. Might be able to get a string pull on it!
I had one of these plus a Squier Classic Vibe SFR in Gold Bronze . The latter is my go to.
nice!
I just got one. Amazing. I did replace the bridge with a hot rail and a brass bridge. It’s unreal.
nice! 🎸👍
Damn this thing is so bright! Like the sun!
this is an older model, the newer model crafted in indonesia.
Heh, I've ordered Squier Classic Vibe '70s Telecaster Custom few days ago after watching your review. Now I want to order this one, as it sounds more twangy and the color is so nice.
ah cool! ya they are both good
Got my Telecaster and it's really good looking guitar. One thing is bothering me though. 3 barrel saddle bridge seems a bit high. I really need to squeeze those strings, almost like an acoustic. Is that normal or should I have it checked out by an expert? Thanks
Amp is everything. That guitar sounded thin, but i know it is not because i have a classic vibe and am playing it through a fender amp and it sounds fuller.
ya the amp is a huge factor for sure. it's the last step in the chain
foxybrown2 I use a Fender Champ 40 Amp with a Spring Reverb pedal and it sounds great.
Thanks for taking your time to make this video. Although it is 2 years later, I just ordered the same guitar today. I 've watched several of your videos and love them all ! Excellent productions...
Glad I could help!
A brilliant guitar by tone, looks, tuning stability and feel! Competes with higher priced guitars easily...I have the brass saddle version with new electronics and other pick ups " gristle ton" that thing is a beast! Great deep dive love it!👍
thanks!
I have one. It’s an unbelievable guitar for the money. I have american fenders and Gibson’s and play this just as much. Probably more in fact because it’s relatively inexpensive so there’s no real worry if it gets damaged lying around - and so I use it to practice or compose.
Fender keeps raising their prices. They’ve about priced me out of a player series. This is a good guitar for what I need.
Everything in the world raises it's prices 😃🎸
Lando27Music which is why i can’t afford it anymore.
Look for used first. Lot of deals to be had
@@landonbailey Yes, but to play devil's advocate we are seeing price raises in product that far exceed the rate of inflation. At the same time we are seeing salary stagnation or raises that are less than the rate of annual inflation.
very clear sound . Thank you Landon .
Love that Radiohead.
I saw a model on Sweetwater that was just under 7 lbs! so they vary from guitar to guitar
I have a classic vibe 70s tele and I love it.
nice!
I'm pretty impressed with the bridge pickup, and the quality is pretty close to my made in Japan 50's style strat too
Very nice guitar. I bought one yesterday and i love it. Much better than my 1968 , which i sold years ago.
Rock on!
These are kick Arse brother. I played one. Want one. Will go nicely with my Classic Vibe 60s strat Chinese masterpiece. Squier vids are booming. Lol
@Harry Newman 2015 here! 3tone sunburst awesome man!
I have the CV thinline Tele, the one I have says Indonesia. China makes just as good guitars now, it just depend on the model. The strats are great.
I’ve just bought an affinity telecaster from Thomman and I love it . I can get some fine tones.
Nice. I like this new model with string through body. The previous model is not string through and has a top loader bridge.
So the previous model is a '58 reissue lol 😊
David Kastin The CVs have all been string-through.
@@johndemko4051 Ok I'm mistaken then. Thanks
🎸👍
Do a comparison of the Chinese and Indonesian vibes tele.please
Just bought one a week ago and love it ... thanks for this video.. it helps hearing it though good equipment especially Vox and playing Radiohead 🍻 cheers it’s why I got one
Great job on the review. Pretty tough to beat the CV 50s tele for$350 new.
great value!
I don't know why some modern tuner company does not make a version like a vintage so you can get the 18 to 1 ratio with the hole in the middle.
they are my fav tuners!
I ordered the blond Squier Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster and should get it sometime tomorrow. I'm a complete beginner, but I thought this would be a perfect guitar to start out on for me. Thanks for your review video.
cheers!
The CV is a beautiful guitar, which I'll never part with, but I find the pickups in the G&L just a little more versatile.
cool thanks for sharing your experience with it!
By far the best review video on the CV Tele. Thanks for doing justice to this awesome instrument.
Please do Fender Player Tele vs CV Tele.
thanks! appreciate it. I have a comparison video in the works
Actually they seem to have downgraded the saddles, as they're not made of brass anymore. The other difference I noticed are the adjustment screws for the neck pickup, which are above the pickguard now, so you don't have to take it off anymore to adjust the pickup - which is good.
ah cool! thanks for the info. the Affinity adjustment is still under the pickguard
but not so vintage anymore
Yes and mine has medium jumbo frets plus ALNICO 5s with brass saddles... butterscotch ...both made in China...why ????? Did they downgrade them.???
