Kinda hard to hear me but the clutch lever is Midwest engineering. They've been around quite a while and had one on my 08 KTM 250 as well. Stock is already relatively light to others but this just makes it butter. Had fun on the Beta of course and that familiar stable feel that we experienced at the demo day. I do like the longer legged feel when able to run a gear higher with great pull. If I added a head to the 250 I think it would hit a sweet spot of added bottom to pull third more in slower stuff while still having the snappier rev happy 250-ness.
SV650 owner, and Kawi KLX 300R owner... Looking to upgrade the 300R tho... Thought maybe I wanted a KTM 350 XCF, but then somebody said it's a LOT of bike...and to maybe check out the 250 XCF... I'm 5'11 + 220 pounds so...leaning 350 but, maybe 250... Thoughts ?!
Well 2 strokes behave a lot different then 4 strokes. They tend to be very twitchy and hyper. The 250 xcf will feel like a rocket compared to the klx. The 350 is just as ludicrous as a 300 2 stroke. If I could compare the power pull. Both the 300 2 stroke and 350 will have the same pull off-road as your sv650 does on road wide open. So it really all depends. For me in order would be 300 2 stroke, 250 xcf, 350 xcf.

Yeah I don’t have much time on a 2-stroke but, when you broke it down on “pull / same pull as the SV on the street basically”, that put it all in perspective. My clutch control is good and throttle control is smooth, so I think I would be able to handle most bikes, very responsible.
@TantoPoint The 350 does come very bottled up. I have done a bunch of mods to gain back the hp which makes it run much better. Although I haven't installed an aftermarket ECU, I hear that makes a big difference.

@@GladiusJon Nice! I have been pining for a Supermoto. Never bought a DR. But thinking about a Drz400sm. Haven't owned a bike in a couple years. Here in Oregon legal trails are a long way off, so I figure I'll have fun on the street with a little illegal nonsense here and there. 😂

Are you riding the dual sport version with mirrors an blinkers by chance? If so, yea that one is slow. Ktm model designations seem to change every year lol! But the 250 in this video has the motocross engine / power. But has enduro suspension. It’s not a 450 power but it’s no slouch.

I must have gotten used to my KTM 350 excf as I don't feel like it has a ton of power. I'll have to try and ride someone's 250 to see the difference.

TE250 carbed 2018 I believe
The Xc 300 has linkage and the exc/xcw 300 has pds (no linkage)
