as a game designer, i feel obligated to say this, theres 2 wastelands that a lone gamedev should not travel upon, the first on is battle royales, and the second one, is MMO, you are in for a terrible journey that will test everything you have as a gamedev and as a person, this is a type of project that only a few survive to tell the tale, i wish you good luck, but dont be optimistic.
I'm loving these updates. I'd also be interested in hearing your game dev goals post Noia's release. Do you wanna start a game studio? Work at a big company? Never touch games again 😅? Etc.
Just a few thoughts after playing for a bit. First, holy cow it's amazing just how much you accomplished! Seriously, what an inspirational success story this project is. With that said, I was wondering if a few things could be considered. Could you please consider making an option to disable click to move? It's very frustrating when I try to loot a body but instead move because of click to move. Could you consider making it obvious what enemies are hostile and which are neutral so you know which ones will automatically agro if you get too close and which ones wont? Maybe an icon next to the NPC's name or even the color of their name would indicate this? Could you consider a "Press and Hold" option for casting spells/abilities while you have a target selected? That way instead of rapidly spamming an ability you can hold it down and as long as you keep it held down it will cast once it's off cooldown and as long as no other ability is attempting to be cast? Love the bow but man is it tiring spamming the shoot ability over and over and over. I also found it hard to tell when line of sight was broken or not. Some of the objects that break LoS are so small that it's kind of surprising, specifically the small rocks. They look like something you should be able to shoot over top of. Could objects with LoS be a bit more obvious? Pillars of stone make sense but the small rocks seem strange. This is purely personal opinion, now that I know its easier to consider but for a while I was confused when my ability would not cast as there was no clear indication that I did not have LoS on my target. Aside from that, as mentioned, Noia is absolutely stunning! Seriously, this project is inspirational in showing that if you put your mind to it you can achieve amazing things! Keep up the awesome work!
@@noiadev Its been a treat watching your videos after learning of this project and I can't understand just how inspirational as someone who is currently learning a new engine and wanting to make my own projects. I look forward to seeing even more from this passion project of yours! Keep up the awesome work!
hey just stumbled across this channel after watching your one year of progress on this mmo. ive always been a huge fan of game development and thinking of ideas on how to make a good game. being a gamer for 20 years now gives me lots of experience in the area of ideas and story telling. what did it take for you to get involved with programming and coding a game? did you go to school? im really trying to learn how to do this type of thing. any info would be appreciated!
Hi Dane! I've been checking out your devlogs and think this game is super fun, and would love to contribute my talents to it. I'm a hobbyist voice actor, and would love to talk to you about helping with voice acting if thats possible. If not no problem! Keep up the good work!
Another great update. I'm motivated to keep work on my own projects
Sweet! Thanks for the update. I'll be playing more tonight. Looking forward to see what you've done creatively for the new forest map quests!
Great update Splosions. Excited to try Noia out on mobile :)
I tested the work in progress MMO game called Noia. It is really fun!
The game is coming together great! Love the stuff with the art design and guidelines :D might have to mimic that myself!

I think a studio would be necessary. If anything to have an artist full time XD
Hi Noia! I'm ready for an update 😉
Great video! You are very entertaining. I enjoy your videos.
Looks and plays very nice. Reminds me of fantasy online :)
