I'm 69 years old, and I have been a fan for 49 of those years. God blessed you, and you bless us with your beautiful spirit filled music. From a Christian brother, thank you. I also listen to Leland Sklar, and he can't seem to say enough about how much he loves Phils music, and how much fun it was to play bass on Love Broke Through.
Love the interview!!!
Keaggy you're gett'n old man..ha ha i did too Bro (holy kiss).
Thank you gents.
It's on of my great joys to have Phil as a dear friend. From our first meeting in 1974 he has been an example of a "True Believer". It was a great honor to put Phil together with Tony Levin and Jerry Marotta to create The Bucket List project. Watching the 3 of them create was beautiful.....love you Phil!
Phil’s music literally shaped my music career. I’ve had the pleasure to meet him several times and get to know him years ago. I headed into the secular music biz in the 90s after spending 10 yrs in CCM. I’m thankful to be still working as a producer/songwriter/musician to this day - with much thanks to my early chops by simply learning everything that Phil recorded. Thanks for sharing this interview 🙏
I love the ❤️ of Phil Keaggy. As a pastor, what Phil said about those that need to come to Christ, repentance, etc. Has encouraged me to do even more in the Great Commission
Phil Keaggy's Music had a huge impact on me. I was doing radio in the mid 90s and was fortunate enough to meet him, Super nice fella!
Same here and I did countless 'station introductions' at shows, including a handful of Phil's concerts. And I had to smile when he once said backstage, "Hey, I know you." 😀
I was fortunate to see Phil Keaggy for a couple of solo acoustic shows at local churches in Nashville. He was having a ball and those of us watching were absolutely awestruck! He did a version of 'Here Comes the Sun' WOW!
What a treasure Phil is to all Christians and lovers of music. Man, Agape Love is a wonderful song, he still has it going on…Nice to see him and hear his story. Thank you for highlighting him.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ God Bless Phil & Bernadette Keaggy 🎸♥✝
He is Awesome !!!
Phil mentioned Canton and the start of my knowing anything about CCM started in Canton in '78 when I was there to work overnights at Top-40 WOOS FM 107. The program director knew I was a young Christian, so one day he told me to start dubbing from vinyl to reel a weekly one-hour CCM program called Jesus Solid Rock hosted by Jerry Bryant and that was one of my favorite tasks ever. And it seemed to be a new music underground, as it were. And ha, when I shared in young adult Sunday School at church that the station was playing that show early on Sunday mornings, well, I got crickets, nothing but crickets, O well, I was still enthused. Phil and his friends gave us great Jesus music and I was hooked, as we used to say. 😀.
I've been a longtime fan & consider PK my fav artist. Once I went to see him perform in a Christmas program @ a local church, this wasn't the first time I saw PK live, but this particular night we sat 2nd row off to stage left. PK came thru a side door & sat in the empty seat beside my daughter, waiting to take the stage. I was wanting so bad to say hello, & what a huge fan I am, & offer to shake hands. At the same time not wanting to appear all starstruck. So I didn't say a word. Of course ever since then I've regretted not doing so. He did some wonderful looping that night & my daughter who was a young teenager @ the time was so blown away by his talents. It was her 1st PK live experience❤ Btw I am a LMT & do neuromuscular massage therapy & I use all 5 of the albums he recorded with Jeff Johnson in my practice. The music is so relaxing & I feel very appropriate. Plus I also use a few of the acoustic instrumental mellower albums too. But my favorites are Crimson & Blue & Find me in these Fields! Of course I don't play these for my clients to relax to. I also have so many other favorite albums by PK & never heard one I didn't like & also have become a fan of glass harp❤ Not only inspired by his music but also listening to him speak in these interviews. What a great testimony!
I'm a Christian singer songwriter and I can relate to Phil Keaggy over the loss of his triplets because my wife Janet and I experienced the same thing,in our case we lost twins through a miscarriage and my most popular song on You Tube Stay By My Side is a song I wrote about that experience and how we would get by just the two of us if we couldn't have children,God blessed us though a couple of years later when our son was born,he's a true gift from God as is my wife,as it says in the Bible, all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and it's true, trust in Jesus, also when I wrote and recorded that song we owned a Christian book store and we use to sell Phil Keaggy's records!,true stuff. Bob
Thanks, Phil, for your inspiring message of God, Love and Life❤
Great interview! Thank you for sharing. 😊👍🏻💜👏✝️
Fantastic
Love Phil! Real person Real.Christian
“I Will Be There” from Getting Closer would make a great Calm song (a channel they have on some airplanes that have remixes of peaceful songs) .
I would have been interested if you had asked Phil how he responded when he first realized his hair was falling out.
I know that the late great Rich Mullins got to know Dr Scott Hahn at The St Paul Center in Ohio. Maybe Phil Keaggy will find his way back Home too.
Anyone that wants to hear Phil on the electric, he recorded with Chris Christensen back in 1982 for his album "Gift of Gladness". Title song is here: ua-cam.com/video/4jAMc9dA08I/v-deo.htmlsi=JOXI9qegfkuihrT7 . Everytime I tell a Phil Keaggy fan about this, they are like what? Phil Rocks! Enjoy. Chris went on to become the leader of the worship music movement in France.
Does anybody else wish Phil would move out of the way a little bit so you could see exactly everything that’s in the rack behind him!!
Chris the sound quality of your mic compared to scott well, it’s like with you. I’ve got cotton stuff in my ears.
Kind of funny(strange) when God sings, Phil vibrates and that about sums it up.
Jimmy Hendricks basically said that Keaggy was the greatest guitarist
That was never said!
Phil Keaggy in this very interview here says that was "a bunch of hooey" and that Hendrix never said that.
Urban legend
Never happened
Phil debunked that story
