if only techs were as good and thorough like you, good stuff as always..!
It’s all time and experience.
This video is a FANTASTIC!! I have been trying to figure out where I can find this particular solenoid and you made it easy!! Thank you :)
Very good video all around Hector. Well explained.
You are absolutely correct that with proper info plus understanding how a system operates you can fix it. You just provided that info.
To find service documents can be a challenge.
Thanks a bunch for taking the time to video and edit so nicely.
Great stuff, this is current problem on my 05 Colorado, same system as this will be my go to vid for testing, thanks for posting
Nothing but gold! Top shelf!!
Very good video explaining concepts of the EVAP system.
Awesome LoL!! Step aside and question yourself and the "SMACK" sound effect LOVE IT!
I learned wtf on my vehicle , thank you

By the way your video is the best I have come across trying to diagnose this damn code. Your a great help man , I appreciate you
Thank you for supplying additional information than the others. I have the Topdon Artidiag 500s, almost the same. Now I should be able to fix my problem. I replaced both valves but not getting the command for valves.
Bien explicado Hector 👍👍👍👍👍good explanation
Awesome video really helps out a lot tbh.
Good information Hector, saludos 👍🏻
Another great video for me!, nice work
good detailed video! keep doing what ur doing. thanks for info and knowledge
Gracias brother contigo se aprende siempre.
So on that trailblazer did you find the large leak? I'm having the same issue with my '04 Chevy trailblazer new purge new vent valve new gas cap
Amazing video. Extremely well explained and visually documented. Best part, this was my very issue on my 99 LS1 SS.
Awesome video.
The video was awesome. Thank you
I like how you explain . as soon as i got half thru video an hit subscribe.
i like how u walk thru 👊
Excellent DIAG HECTOR
Bro you rocked this video👈🏾💯
Excellent video
Great man, so swt
EXCELLENT video
Looks like the large leak was fixed by the purve valve...so the vacuum drop doesn't seem too bad...may not even throw a code...or will it? Seems the problem wasn't fixed? Fuel sensor?
i have a p0455 on a 05 kia sedona. my scanner show tank pressure show -15 in both key on engine off and running. bad pressure switch? also when I smoke test with key on egine off i get smoke from the top of the tank, but its not the fuel pump gasket. any advice would be great
Question yourself? Yeah, I do that all the time.
Hector! What do you use for schematics etc?
Honey,
We really like your videos, very clear and patient. I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a video of our inflatable paint booth. Free for you to use our upgraded inflatable spray tent, even indoors, the double-layer EPA-certified filter cotton and the elephant nose filter system can achieve a good filtering effect. Please reply me if you are interested. thanks
On my 04 car my check engine light came on and the car is running good po 316-301 with 455 -457 and I replaced every sensor on the car new cop and spark plugs new canister purge valve every dam thing new fuel injectors but still getting the same codes and the car is running good very good so I just took those stupid bulbs out of the dashboard and case closed
My p045 code comes on about every 600 miles after the code is cleared. Is that normal for it to take that long to appear?
I am having issues with this p0455, I tried just about everything. Would you mind emphasizing at 7:08 your back probing the dark green wire. But you switch the test light from negative to positive and that is suppose to test the command to the purge valve? Is this correct? I was a bit confused about swapping with tester from neg to positive on that same dark green wire, without short circuiting anything. I just would like to confirm that this is ok to my understanding.
yes he is right. he connected the connector , key on , command the computer , which means there is 12v up to the solenoid. which means complete circuit (the 12v goes through 10A fuse to orange wire to the solenoid going out to dark green wire to the chases ground
Do you have link for the tool you used to back probe
They’re linked at the end of the description.
Would be nice to know how do simple checks of the evap system without these scanner tools.
Visual inspection of hoses, connections, valves. I have seen a pseudo smoke text using vape smoke, interesting but I don't vape, and a handful of people spraying a soapy water mixture around pertinent areas...seeing bubbling is indicative of a leak.
My mom has that same exact code on a 2017 Kia soul and it has me frustrated,I already replaced fuel cap with OEM cap, purge valve (OEM) fuel tank pressure sensor OEM as well and the code keeps coming back, I'm doing a smoke test tomorrow any pointers on where to connect?I was thinking using the vent line under the hood that goes to the tank or back, should I pinch of the line at the end before the canister or should I not? I'm not a mechanic I just like to try and fix things myself.
what did you end up finding with the smoke test? did you get it fixed?
So what was the other problem that you had? I replaced purge valve, vent vale, filler neck. Went from po442 to a p0445 bought the tank sensor but don't what else it could be. 2004 TB. Thank for any help.
Ever figure it out?

I'm so confused now. I have P0300 P0455 & P0456. Seems the causes overlap one another. I've watched videos for each & just more confused. 69-yr old trying to make sure the maintenance shop doesn't rob me blind for something the car doesn't need. But your vid was good, clear except I have 3 codes.
I know that he said simple check, but at the end he leaves this video without an actual fix. It's obvious that p0455 can be any of the things that Hector mentioned, but it also shows that it can be another part of the fuel system. It could be the evap canister, it can be a hard line, it could be a soft line aka rubber hose. It also could be a simple gas cap or it could also be a bad tank. You should also check all your fuses and more possibilities.
It is simple to check all those things..
@@CUSOCOOL I know people can say it is simple and for the most it is. I say it is because I did everything an ASE shop would do and did...perhaps even more because if the problem persist that's after I did all same work a shop did. I don't like taking it to shops because when I know there is a problem still, I pay and the and the shop tells me that there isn't anything wrong or that it must have been that I didn't clear the code correctly that must have been the problem...that's an insult to my intelligence. On top of that the shop has the nerve to tell bring it back so they could charge me more if the problem persist...I say no thanks.
By the way I actually found the problem and permanently fixed it something that a real professional would have and should have done in the first place.
So as simple as it may seem just to do a check. I would argue checking and fixing are two different things.
@@freedomthinker3041 you have a point
How much would you think it would typically cost for a tech to find an EVAP leak like this ?
I would like to know what it cost to fix. My purge valve is broke right off
@@crystalseymour7054 They are super easy, and it's like $20-25 at the parts store, depending on your vehicle.
I just got a full tune up not even a week ago.. then suddenly the check engine light is on? I bought a scanner awhile ago so I used it and got the large evap system leak code,,,, I don’t smell gas inside and only outside for like 10 seconds… I do not overfill it. I don’t even drive it much actualy. Couple times a week and not far.. but this wasn’t and issue a week ago.. so could it just be the cap???
When I start it is when I smell it for a few seconds but that’s it.
I got put this on my car 🚘
Why didnt you continue showing things to check for with your basic scanner. You said it still had a leak and the video was over???
I have a P1126 P450 P446 and a P430……. 1999 Lexus LS400 and not sure what to do about it so tired Of wrenching on this car.
Start withe basics Friend
#1 check your fuel cap..make sure it sealed tight.
#2 check you throttle body connection...make sure all connections are connected securely
#3 clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner
#4 check the wiring to your o2 sensor(s) and/or possibly inspect & clean the sensor with the throttle body cleaner & wire brush.
#5 clear check engine codes
Hopefully this basic maintenance can help you with your codes. They seem to point at your throttle body, evap & 1 of your O2 sensors
Don't give up!
Yea man dont give up..focus on one at a time..study it,understand it..don’t just throw parts at it..when u figure it all out and u will..the feeling of accomplishment is ecstasy..
Then what happened
I feel dumb as a diyer doing this stuff , anyway I can study up on this non officially ?
Donde estas ubicado mi carro me da 30 codigos 😂😂😂😂
That sound lag out and interface is almost exactly the same as my launch Millenium master🤔 how much does that scanner cost?? Or retail for?
Somewhere around $250.00
They’re all sharing software…
I got juiced by my Mac dealer. I paid 500🤦🏻♂️
@@Rene_W204 Avoid tool trucks at all cost, high cost🧐
To be fair not many people have any of this equipment at all, calling these checks simple was highly misleading.
Great vid, but missing some humor.... No "chingadera's" were heard :-(
In other words, get a new car

Sounds like you replaced the purge valve solenoid and are still getting a P0455 code along with poor engine performance? Yeah. Me too.
@@staynelasteele6487 hey God bless you I hope that if you're having car issues and gets better for you
I can't subscribe to this bro you got way too many commercials popping up in my face
