This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

Awesome! My charging port was bent to **** from kids flipping the cover open while plugged in. Picked up the part from eBay for $7.50, replacement took about 20 minutes, mostly because I was being slow and very careful. Excellent video - 100% accurate.
I just replaced my charging port. Worked perfectly. A new charging port was only about $5 so well worth it to at least give it a try. Thanks for this video- saved me a lot of money!!!
Hey, it worked! Took some persistence and looking at the video very closely--to see that i needed to open alligator clip when re-attaching, among other things--but it worked!

The only thing I had a little trouble with was sliding the ribbon cable into the flat connector (4:13). There were two small metal tabs on the side of the ribbon cable connector. I had someone press down gently on the ribbon cable while I used a X-ACTO blade on each tab to push the cable into the connector. Also, my cable came without the charging port housing. Had to reuse the old one.

I replaced the charge port a while back, but nothing was working. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery fixed the issue, although it took a couple of attempts. I can confirm that this helps.

Just replaced my charging port and battery.. this is a definite diy project.. paid like $25 for a battery and new charging port.. for galaxy tab 4 10.1..

@@cheezybread7783 my charging port was bad, at first we ordered just the wee silver plug in port piece, but after watching many videos, we decided not to use the little port piece which requires quite intricate soldering, and ordered the entire ribbon piece which just pops in easily held by 2 screws. Many people including me, encounter a touch screen or home button malfunction, but more video watching said to wiggle & fidget about the ribbon connection points/plug ins some to get a good connection. Which I'lI be trying after I post this. Personally, I wouldn't get a new battery until you try this port thing first, as it's super cheap on eBay. Also did you use a magnifying glass to look very closely into your port to see if it's full of lint or other debris that you can pick out with toothpick or tweezers? I once found a very tiny white quartz rock in one of my charge ports 😯 but I've pulled shit loads of crap out of many ports over the years. There's many video tutorials on how to do it, here on UA-cam! I use a guitar pick to crack open my tab 4. Good luck!

Can you replace the ribbon connector alligator clip?
I am sure that is replaceable, however you may need to microsolder. If the pins are still there, you may be able to carefully fit it into place.
The little white ribbon clip on mine broke SUPER easy when i touched it. I think the quality of the plastic was degraded by heat, or maybe was just super cheap plastic. I sure would like to know if it could be replaced. That is the only thing preventing my repair from being completed. :-(

Took my tablet to repair shop..they quoted $127.00 to change port..With this video and a 6.00 part off ebay I was able to do it myself in 10 minutes !!! THANK YOU!!!!
I actually ended up throwing my tab at the wall after 1 minute of that shite music. Problem solved, new tab required.
