    Thank you! I've just started running and love this app. It's been really helpful. This video really showed me how to use it as a tool rather than just a tracker. Also, I love the treadmill function. I trained for my first half marathon on a treadmill. The app on the watch is so effective and I was glad that could get "miles" tracked indoors. Thanks again!

    Hi Jaymes! Thanks for the video - I just started getting into running and absolutely love the NRC app. The guided runs have been clutch. Question, though: On the speed runs, it doesn't seem to count the recovery minutes in my total distance. I run through the recovery minutes in between intervals (At a slow pace, of course, but not slow enough to pause the run), and I want credit for those km! Is there a setting to change this? I've been avoiding the speed runs because of it, which is a shame. Please let me know if you have any advice. THANKS!

    I used the NRC app for the first time today. I was wondering if I can use Spotify while using the NRC app. I found I always had to go back and restart my music in Spotify after Coach Bennett was done talking. The only info I found on line referred to using your Apple Watch to help with this problem but I don't have an Apple Watch (prefer nothing on my wrists when working out). :) Thanks. Great video!

      You sure can! On the main home page where you start your run, to the right you should see an icon that will let you select your music. It will sync to apple music or spotify. What's really cool is that you can also find playlists on spotify that are specific to running that are synce with different paces. Its pretty neat.

    Good stuff!, I've been using NRC running with my phone for a while now. I'm really thinking about getting a running watch like the Garmin 235 or 245. • @jaymesrogers

      The nice thing about Garmin running watches is they will save automatically Nike Run Club and strava if you want. Most running apps or geared towards garmin. since you’re the best medicine for running. I encourage you to research the functions that each of those offer to see if there’s one that fits you a little bit better but I wouldn’t worry about the Nike run club piece cause you’ll be good to go there

      @@madriraju1426 I ended up getting a Garmin Vivoactive 4, ditched the Nike Running app, now I use Strava and Garmin Connect to track my runs and bike rides. Strava ties in with Garmin Connect so I track my exercise on the watch and the activity is automatically transferred to Strava. Vivoactive 4 supports music, so you save music files on the watch and pair Bluetooth earbuds with it and listen on your run. I chose to still use my phone for this just because it gives me more listening options and I can use it in case of emergency. So I got a running belt to hold my phone and I'm hands free when I run.

      Hey Vanessa! Typically with indoor is does track differently for some reason. I’m not too sure why but I’ve noticed that it tracks the distance faster than what the treadmill states. I used to update my runs on the app to match the treadmill but then NIke started taking away any badges or awards won so I just leave them as is now days.

    I have the Garmin Vivoactive 3 and loves the watch, but the rewards, badges, and motivation to run isn’t there like Nike Run+ Club. Nike has a huge friends list to compete and run hard, run level color that shows your running level, coaches, personal goals, weekly challenges,, weird and funky badges etc. I just ordered a 42mm Series 3 Watch and and can’t wait to return to Nike Run club! Garmin is good but its bare bones. It also has sync problems every other day with my iPhone XR since Garmin’s database attack 2 weeks ago 🤦🏽‍♂️.

Thus I tried solving the issue by putting the data from my health app into the Nike Run Club app and it let me but it wasn’t logged to the challenges, it was just there. Is there anything I can do to put those 2 miles the app didn’t track into the challenges. I had my phone in my shorts the whole time! Where am I supposed to place it if not there? @@ssaaaaaall2457 i feel your pain. So nike made it to where people can't change miles on a run when it comes to challenges because people were cheating the system. For me i have to physically hold my phone in my hand when i run on the treadmill. Be sure to change your type of run from outdoor to indoor. When you first open the app and it is on the start screen, push the little cog to the left and make it an indoor run. That is the only way it will track on the treadmill. Hopefully this helps.

    Jaymes - thanks for this. A question about the Apple Watch NRC app: I’m confounded by the fact that sometimes when I launch the watch app and go run the interface (numbers) are Nike Run Club yellow and sometimes they are blue. When they’re yellow, the UI works completely differently than when they are blue. When yellow, the display toggle is managed by the watch crown, and when they are blue, I can tap on the individual read outs to change the display. And frequently when the app starts out blue, it crashes mid-run and I lose my run data. Does this sound familiar and do you have any explanations for this? I never know what color/UI I’m going to get and it’s super frustrating. Can’t find anything about it online. Thanks!

    Can I set a distance on the app and it stops when I reach that distance. For instance I want to run a virtual 5k and I want the app to stop once I reach the required distance. I dont want to keep looking at my watch to see if I am close or not.

    • @jaymesrogers
      @jaymesrogers  3 роки тому

      You sure can. When you are on the main screen to start the run, right underneath the start button it says “set a goal” which will allow you to pick a set distance or time frame. The app will then tell you congratulations once you hit your goal as long as you have the audio feedback turned on which can be found in the settings.

    Hi jaymes, i found something rather odd in the challenges section of the app. In a 100k Challenge i see people in the leaderboard with 800 kms in just 6 days. I dont think that is humanly possible at all. Have people found a way to cheat the app or how do they do it ?

    • @jaymesrogers
      @jaymesrogers  4 роки тому +1

      My best guess for those high numbers are people who use the app for tracking miles while cycling. To your point, it’s not humanly possible. That’s where I think strava would be better for them because it has a specific option for cycling versus NIke.

    • @jaymesrogers
      @jaymesrogers  3 роки тому

      I’ve noticed for me that it depends if I’m running outside vs on a treadmill. Outside typically is more accurate vs indoor on a treadmill. I’ve also had to take off the auto pause feature if I stop when I’m running outdoors because it will screw up my time. Not sure if any of these scenarios apply to you but that’s been my experience with the Nike run club app.
