In your own house , of course you can go barefoot , but not in the street or in other peoples house . Halloween is a modern thing here . We used to celebrate " Difuntos " We went to the cementery , clean the graves , put flowers and candles , and talk to other people doing the same about our dead relatives and friends , and have a meal toguether after going to mass
Even at home it is really unusual to go barefoot, the entire family wears zapatillas de casa, and if you don't then someone will remind you that you can get a cold. Even in summer, lol.
I am Spanish but live in the UK. My stomach cramps just thinking of people eating while walking. The barefoot-ness also creeps me out. Although i prefer them barefoot at home than wearing trainers all day. Many people wear shoes or trainers in the house here, don't they know about slippers?
Heyy!! I was just in London the other week! And yes Slippers are common but when I walk around barefoot my roommates are like wtf are you doing put some socks on haha.
The weather in Madrid changes from one minute to the next during spring and autumn, that's why we stuck to the season. You can see the poor tourists thinking that the moments at 18° are going to bring you summer in February. They wear shorts and sandals in the morning (18°)and temperature drops to 0° at 18.30 in the evening. Fun to look at.
Kat Theo Thank you for checking my channel out! That means a lot. I love your channel as well. I’ve watched so many of your videos! Hopefully we can meet up when I move to España 💜
This is so good 😂😂😂 I just want to say we don't have any sort of phobia to feet, they only reason why we don't go barefoot is because we don't like getting dirty, we are very clean people. We don't go barefoot at home (we use some sort of indoor shoes, like the japanese) because our feet would get dirty and then we would lay on the sofa or our bed and mess the fabric and that's just gross. As for the pool/beach barefootness... the sand and the floor literally BURN because of the constant heat of the sun, whilst indoor pools may be infected by fungi.
It's actually impossible to not wear exercise clothes in public because people including me live in densely populated urban areas and have to get from their apartment to an exercise area - Retiro. I walk I don't go to gyms. I often see Madridleños wearing gym clothes on the street. Coming from Australia its very odd to me to actually exercise in an urban area with shoppers and commuters and in concrete areas but that's the way it is.
hahaha kind of true. I am Spanish and I personally don't like at all kissing people when first meet someone because I think is so fake and sometimes awkward. I would rather shake hands, and often I do so, and don't give a *** if someone thinks is weird.
Not at all. In fact, my answer was for another video from another youtuber. I don't know why it's appeared below your video! There's been some kind of failure. Anyway, being from Albacete is great. My family is from Albacete and they have an incredible sense of humor and delicious food. Congratulations for your work! You're absolutely right when you say we dress for the season and not for the weather :)
@@KatTheo maybe your friends are weird?? haha I go barefeet everywhere.. And of course in the beach eeevryboody goes barefeet. Also, I do wear trainers in the street and I think spanish people do actually wear trainers... anyway interesting seeing your point of view, you are adorable 🤗
Thanks so much for watching! What are some other ways you have been embarrassed in Spain?

Starts at three in the morning?? Nooo I need my beauty sleep especially if I’m going to wake up with a hangover lol
hailey rae hahaha, yeah, in Nebraska the clubs CLOSE at three am. What a difference that was for me !
Yo voy descalza por casa. Deberías experimentar más. También comemos de camino. Y no pasa nada porque alguien te salude con un apretón de manos.

You come up to Madrid every couple months to get your hair down. In Madrid it is so easy!
I miss Madrid so much *cry emoji*

Daniel Moreno thanks so much Daniel! I'm glad you liked it !
Yes!!! Im living in Barcelona and from Nebraska!
This is great advice!
Ohh no way!! Which part of Omaha are you from
The 6 hour time difference was the hardest because you had to remember when to contact your loved ones. 6pm in Madrid would be 12am EST and so on.
VERY TRUE. Are you from the East coast then?
They often dont even put the tables out before midnight.......

This was great :)... but I did expect tipping to be on the list!
I dont do kisses its too unsanitary.
even if it is on the cheek?
@@KatTheo Id freak. People use their mouth for sex who knows what they have.
ahahha! oh my goodness. You aren't actually kissing though. You are just doing an air kiss. Sometimes you touch cheeks but some people do not.

Random question: Have you been to Cuba? I'm going there in a few weeks for the first time out of the country.
I have never been to Cuba but it is sure on the list! :D
Yeah I'm trying to research as much as I can without feeling like I'm spoiling the shock of going there for the first time lol
nice
Well, you look just like you were born in Albacete, for example.
Is that a bad thing?

Do men kiss each other on the check in Spain?
No, just a handshake or a hug with friends
In Spain ppl go barefeet at home, at the pool, and of course at the beach. Some ppl dont, but many do.
The most of my Spanish friends find it weird that I go barefoot at home haha. What about the other things?
