Looking forward to your videos on Queen Rearing! We don't need More plastic. If they are made from recycling, then maybe a small ok. We are wasting the earth because of convenience and wanting these plastic things. (like plastic bags) Looking along any highway and you see these bags hanging from trees and bushes. Kamon, how do You pack All of that Knowledge & Wisdom into that smaller type body. You are a well educated man, with scores of wisdom. Thank you for sharing all that you share!

Some of the old bee keepers around here would catch the swarm, remove the queen and dump the bees back in the hive to keep max nectar coming in. Not everyone wants more hives to fool with. I guess it worked as I have no reason to doubt them. I guess they didn't worry about getting a mated queen back .

@@danskisbees7348 , As far as bees, as little as possible. I am not interested in trying to make splits and sell bees. I can't sell all the honey around here and Oklahoma law will not allow me to let someone else sell it. I'm concentrating on putting food up for hard times.

They used to have a bee club in Cookeville.
It's hard to find rubbing alcohol for mite washes, now with this pandemic. Good thing my wife hasn't been in my honey house. Stocked up when,I bought some last fall when I did washes.
Funny, I used to be a organic market farmer here in Tulsa and that's how I got into bees, myself.
I enjoyed watching the recording. Maybe this winter I can catch a live chat.
May God bless you and your family, plus protect you all from what's going on in the world today.

Hey Kamon, I've had good results with all my mann lake unassembled deeps except the commercial grade. I bought five of those over the winter and had the same issues with fit and wood splitting that you had. Their select grade were always great.

Hi Mathew thanks for watching! It thankfully doesn't encourage your bees to swarm. Once the conditions in the hive to swarm are met they will be very attracted to good swarm traps which is awesome!

Try develop highgenic bees especially bees that develop bald brood treatment for varroa. Swarms that one gets from swarm traps are the first to go the following year and I am a bit long in the tooth to be chasing after swarms. Develop none swarm y bees that stay at home 90% of the time makes more sense. Time the bees sort out the varroa problems themselves. Keep the chat going its great for beginners.

This will be my first year with bees. I was excited to find that Dadant was only an hour away from my home so I placed my first order. I was disappointed to find that my order of wax went from Paris Texas (1 hour from my home) to Pennsylvania, to Dallas Texas (an hour and a half) from my home then finally to me. The package arrived in decent shape but long after I expected it. I am sorry you are having a difficult time with them! Us newbies sure do appreciate your review of products and your honest opinions. Thank you!

Hi Kamon. I really hate to bother you, but you are one of the folks I trust. How can I prevent swarming without having to purchase more hive boxes? I am 74 and in my 5th year with the bees. Sometimes I think I know what to do, then I don't. I have 5 colonies. They are packed. I live in PA. I have a small yard. I am at a loss. And you need to slow down. I love watching your videos and Live Chats. You looked a little peaked at your last Chat. Don't die f for us. Christ already did that. You guys are young. Enjoy it. Be around later. I know you and Ian S. are super hard workers, but don't over do it. Ian doesn't look so washed out, but you best slooow down! Thank you for all you do. I was going to write you, when you gave the world your address on the CHAT, but I forgot it already. Thanks.
