I'm from a time when we had to hand make almost everything we needed in our operation. These days everybody wants to make money on beekeeping. Beekeepers money.. they don't make honey but they are happy to take your money..
In rural America and with out good internet service! Thanks for doing a video of it. Wish I could see the comments for the side chatting between followers.
Hi kaymon enjoy your vids quick question how late can I use formic acid. I'm using 3 infusions a week apart 30 mil on pads kill rate is great but she is closing down on her laying I'm using full depths 6 plus frames of bees temp is around 18 to 22 degrees tempt we are 1month away from winter.. cheers
I installed a new package. Upon the last 2 inspections I’ve had what appear like supercedure cells , both inspections empty. I removed them. I saw the Queen and there’s eggs, brood etc. Is this normal? I In south central Idaho and we just have apples blooming.
Hey Kamon, I was in and out of chat last night. Catching what I missed now. Question though. I split into a 2 frame Nuc and immediately put 1:1 syrup on them. I realize now that was a mistake. There were still foragers on the brood frame I moved. They found the syrup and told all the friends at the parent hive. Robbing was in full swing. I noticed a ton of activity into and out of the Nuc, which I knew wasn’t right. Foragers should have been going home, not into the Nuc. Watched flight path and sure enough they were back and forth from Nuc to parent colony. I immediately removed the feed. Today it seems normal, not much activity at the Nuc. Caged queen still in there. Anything else I should do. How long should I wait to put feed on, if at all. I put a frame that was mostly brood with honey in the corners and a frame of empty drawn comb. We have a very light flow right now, not much coming in. Main flow is about 1-2 weeks away. Central Oklahoma. Thanks!
Just realized you answered the question right after I left. Thanks Kamon! It was a jar at the top of the lid just for information. Similar to a bucket on a standard hive
That was a hilariously bad Amish joke :)
Your smack on Pocahontas' "high cheek bones" excuse was even better!

Do you raise capped honey super when adding another super or just put new super on top?
Jeff long he said he does both
If nectar is converted to honey by the 🐝, what sugar syrup is converted to by the Bees as to nectar?

What is this. You have your chats to early. You need to do them real late so I can join in when you I am done with my work
In the long run I think you'd come out better if you broke the whole video down and posted the clips on UA-cam.
