It would help to mention that taking out the ac brackets and power steering brackets would help with having more room great video but just adding my 2 cents to the situation, I have a 2002 protoge5 and it was a SOB I used your video combined with another which talked about the ac brackets and power steering brackets without you guys ide be stuck still thanks for the video
*doing it while the engine is in the car* Follow the first steps, jack ur car up and you’ll have better access to bottom bolt for alternator remove tensioner bolt completely for now and move the alternator back and forth untils it’s off, it will not fit thru the bottom so you’re gonna have to pull it thru the hoses and everything, once u got ur new alternator position it right where it will fall in cus there’s no space putting in the alternator so ur gonna have to just be careful but squeeze it in there get bottom bolt in first from the bottom and don’t forget to remove passenger wheel you can position the alternator with both ur hands from those access points and wiggle the bolt in and a impact can fit to remove the 14 mill bolt so I used an impact due to lack of space to break the bolt loose and tighten but don’t tighten too much then put tensioner back and that’s how I did it today

I was stuck after removing the bottom bolt, and couldn't see or feel why I couldn't remove it.. Turns out that I just had to yank it out.. Thanks again!

having trouble installing alternator bottom bolt not able to align it to add bolt, any tricks would be appreciated .
Well you just pull out the engine, put it on engine stand and it's much easier.... LoL... I agree with you, this guy is as usefull as a screen door on a submarine....
If I want to just tighten up the belt on the alternator do I have to loosen both the bottom and the top bolt before using the tightening screw?

Not hard at all. The 14mm bolt on the alternator bottom can sieze. Unbolt the cruise control bracket and move to side. If you have ramps or jack stands it's real easy. I had to use a bolt extractor to get the bottom bolt off of the alternator on one of my Proteges. Harbor Fate has them for cheap. Better than my Gear Wrench extractors.
If just the belt needs to come of do I need to take bottom bolt off??

Couldn't understand a word you were saying mumbling. No mention of unplugging it. Lack of room makes it very difficult to remove understandably why you had the engine on a stand btw most engines are not that clean. Camera work was horrendous. Tilt down so we can see.
Mumbling? I understood every word this guy said. Having it on a stand helps with knowing where all the bolts are. Other videos with the engine in the car just used a shaky phone with the guy saying something like "that bolt there" while showing a maze of hoses and wires. Wait, what, where? Combining this video with those others gives a good overview.
