Such a lovely couple! Of course, Jonnie handled it all with ease. With such a healthy budget, I'll wager that they would have a gardener and housekeeper to care for the mystery property. In both aspects one would finish all that would be required and literally have to start all over. That staircase is impressive to look at, but circular stair cases can be a problem. It would be a huge challenge for me to care for the home, entertain, keep up the holiday let, give piano lessons and knit/crochet. Good on Jonnie for this success!
Love this program. The mystery house had far too many stairs and will cost a fair amount to maintain those beautiful grounds. Love the character and warmth of the first house. Would be wonderful to know their final decision.
#1 is absolutely stunning, and had everything in a family home, plus the holiday let, and the amazing property views. Just gorgeous. A sweet couple - I would like to rent one of the holiday lets!! ❤😂🎉
Wow! That mystery house!😮 Stunning, but that spiral stairway is a big downside. The views you get from the "tower" are breathtaking though, that would have been my favourite room! That property just kept on giving! Truly epic, as Jonnie said. God bless him! All homes were beautiful in their own way though, #1 had great potential, wonderful views and was super cozy. I'd have chosen that with their budget (ha! one can dream). Again, thanks for sharing this!😍
All lovely properties in their own way. All i see is upkeep!! Weekly cleaning service, garden service, so that expense to consider. Then the holiday lets, laundry and daily cleaning. What a pain!! Time for hobbies? Relaxing? Love to know their decision!
It would be nice to know what they decided about the properties that were shown to them. The usual expectation is to have some kind of closing comment about their decision.
I was torn between the 1st property and the mystery house. The mystery house was grand, and having the additional bonus of a swimming pool, hot tub, beautiful ensuite master and those amazing views would be quite lovely. On the other hand, having just 3 bedrooms was a downside. However, picking the 1st house will not just be saving money, you would have extra to make it look as grand and beautiful as the mystery house.
Very interesting episode with great properties. House 1 seemed perfect for them, had a great kitchen and already up and running holiday lets. I found house number 2 a little too minimalist for my taste. Mystery house - wow! Never seen anything like it on ETTC. From the outside, it looked chunky and vulgar. Inside was impressive and some amazing features like the room at the top with the amazing views, and great walk-in closets. The cherry on the cake was the fabulous landscaped gardens. It's the kind of place that I could enjoy staying in for a few days for a luxury weekend, but to live in - no thanks! I wonder what they did in the end?
House number one is the most outstanding. Of course the land in the mystery property is wonderful, but I didn't like the house at all. It is impressive (the amount of money spent) but it looks like an american house- and the finish is very 80's or early 90's regular spec. I also did not like the layout or stairs..or railings and spindles, tile choices etc....Nevertheless, everyone has their own tastes. They were a lovely couple, and I really hope that they chose house #1 which was just so breath-taking, and gave them a gorgeous house to live in, as well as a phenomenal letting business...along with a place for breeding their alpacas.
Absolutely agree! Loved #1 and it gave them everything they wanted but in a manageable package. No way the mystery property can generate the income to balance what it must cost to upkeep. Let alone to cover some of their living costs.
House number 1 is perfect. I wouldn't even need to do much redecorating, just move in. The mystery house was rather vulgar, in my opinion, although the grounds and view from the tower were impressive. Lovely couple. I hope they ended up with something wonderful.
£1.1 million is a healthy budget? I'd consider that closer to immortality! Ok, forget everything except the mystery house. Who do I have to bribe, blackmail, beg to get this house? If this couple doesn't take this house I'm ordering a sanity check!
First house all the way- the mystery was ghastly bourgeois. The facade was more builder than architect, just pure vulgarity. Spiral staircases (stuck in the middle of the entrance hall) are useless. Jonny is just the smoothest presenter on this show,
The only thing I liked about the mystery house was the surrounding land and the pond! The house was horrid, especially being in the country. I doubt this couple would be having many village friends living in that monstrosity!
I am totally thankful for his friends as nd the police dept for all their encouragement support of building self confidence in Lil Michael and the wonderful support of dept and the school and local paper as well . These bullies should have been made clean the school they really need ro crack down on such behavior as a result of the ugliness of bullies
Ahhh I personally think the mystery house us awful! Hideous from the outside and nothing warm about the inside. For such an ostentatious house the kitchen was small and basic...and ugly. Bathrooms were basic too ..nothing sleek. I was shocked they liked it. 🤷♀️
Completely shocked! Especially after he said that he liked #1 because it was manageable. The mystery propoerty is anything but manageable... in addition to being ghastly.

Great episode. All 3 houses were fabuless
There is no competition here! The mystery palace!

If the couple never get in touch to let the show know what they decided, then the ending goes straight to,” If you would like…”. It’s that simple.😢
The mystery house is amazing!
Yes I'd say like Jonnie : How fascinating this Hydrolic Funicular! Truly a brilliant Idea !
that mystery house just blew the others away
I like how these couples say they're going to retire so they can pursue their Hobbies more and Holiday Homes and pursue sailing LOL😊
Highest tides in the world is the Bay of Fundy (N.B., Canada) where tides can reach 53 ft (16 metres).

👍👍👍 Real full episode including end credits. Every episode of Escape To The Country should be of this audio, visual and editing quality.

Just saying: according to feng shui principles, a spiral staircase is very bad luck (like a screw being driven into you).
Videos keep cutting off.hope it stops soon

100% agreed! Wasn’t them at all! And that kitchen, what kitchen?😂
@@Lil-Jack-Jack Exactly! So horrid! Or I guess a kitchen you have in such a house if you don't cook in it yourself. Yikes.
I so agree!! It was god-awful!
