Ikr? Mr. seemed positive with each property but Mrs.? I found her very critical. I mean who mentions to an artisan weaver that the automated machines do it "perfectly"??? Mrs. did, smh. I also didn't like when Mrs. remarked "I could see ME living here (in the sitting room) instead of US. Perhaps there was too much inspiration for visitors and they'd be distracted from Mrs.' "workshops". I could see spending time with easy going Mr. and his photography and certainly time with the weaver but I'll pass on spending any time with that Mrs.
I've been noticing with series 17 how many beautiful properties were available then. After Covid hit in 2020, they went very quickly and few really exceptional ones are left.
I can't believe they didn't take the first house, it was everything Janet asked for. Which IMO was a pretty big stack of requests. Plus it was beautiful and hugely under-budget. Jeff not being able to manage the garden is the only downside I could see, but you can pay someone for that esp with 100k in the bank...
Margherita is delightful! With their list of requirements I can't believe how fantastic each property was. Well done ETTC! Of course, it's the luck of the market, but they surely hit the jackpot this time. Hope all turned out well for this charming couple.
House one was lovely. I would have removed the modern kitchen and make that the lubrary. House 2, had it been the original house only, was gorgeous. Being attached on both sides took it out of the running. The Mystery House was, to me, perfection. Location, views, garden, and the annex for her library and workshops, plus 2 bedtooms for guests. Ideal. The bungalow itself was beautiful, and could easily have been made into my dream home. Adding the garage, possibly with studio above, would be the icing on the cake for me.
@@jennyc1846 (Joan here). She actually did not rule out a 2-storey but did say it would have needed to have potential on the ground floor for a bedroom.
Devon episode - 2015. First one was great - annoying to have to remove the other kitchen but with the price they'd have the budget. Loved house 2, right up my alley, love a Georgian - no back garden though but the garden they DO have was great. Mystery house the location was outstanding. Liked the bungalow.
I love the host, Margherita, who was ever-so professional, positive and personable to the mediocre househunters. I especially liked the commentary, and was wondering if the hosts write their own scripts? And, the videography is sublime!
Great to revisit the area. My Uncle had a lovely house upon the hill in Dawlish. Great yard with apple and pear trees. Sigh.... oh if only one could go back eh?
I wonder if they found something? An endless list of wants: 1. Minimum of 4 bedrooms, one of them to be ensuite and on the ground floor 2. A photography room for hubby 3. A writing room for her 4. A library or other space to house thousands of books 5. A low maintenance flat garden, but big enough to put tents for guests 6. A place to receive guests for storytelling workshops 7. In walking distance to a community, but on land that must be flat as she can't walk uphill Did I forget anything? I'd have gone for house number 2, but in the gorgeous setting of the mystery house! 😉
My Mum and Dad bought a property near Uffculme in the 1960s for £2000 when they retired: some years later they sold for £10000: I wonder what it’s worth now 😀😀😀.
What a gorgeous purpose built house and cottages (no:1) for Janet and her hubby I do so hope they get to buy it.... said before watching the rest of the show.... I do wonder though why nearly every episode freezes in the middle and we miss the most vital parts of the show its becoming very annoying... 2nd house...2 storey...she didn't want stairs with her back.... I liked the mystery house too, especially being near the beach for views and her guests....I cant understand why they would choose either the 2nd - 2 storey one as well as the mystery house as contenders...I bet they don't choose either. I think number one was made just for them...oh well... QUESTION: When presenters say "let us know what you bought" do they ever let us know eg do they do revisits??? I cant find any... Gosh Britain has some stunning countryside...maybe in my next life... After watching shows like Border security etc I can a understand why folk are moving away from cities and heading to the country...cheers from Western Australia
They didn't want to get in a car to get to a shop or pub and all of these weren't walking distance to a village. Lovely houses but it's annoying when they don't seem to listen to what the people want.
I like the mystery house view but it was so new. I liked house two the best but having two attached houses other people live in is a no. House one wasn’t bad either. For them probably the mystery house.
"I've been packing books in boxes for months" (That's why there's 46 boxes in the garage, bless the dear Man) "I'VE GIVEN AWAY A THOUSAND BOOKS" ... I often get a bad back... twice in one sentence.. can't do steps, stairs nor slopes.. handy that ME, ME.. What at best were they shown..! #1 was reasonable. #2 had along walk down and all the aforementioned.. #3 had no issues, she'd get plenty of Sea Air.. the butt was.... That Man is a quiet Martyr.. Yes Dear.
Did this episode freeze for a moment for anyone else when they revealed the price of the first house?! I didn't get to see their reaction.
Froze twice on me
Yes and it never came back. Now something new
It came back .

Yes. Very frustrating.
What a wonderful episode. I find it hard to believe that out of those 3 beautiful homes they couldn't find one to suite them. Love Margareta

Oh Leslie, Yes!😂
I find mrs. controlling personality
@@judylamantia9741 I felt the same, she seems the kind that 'must be accommodated'.
Margherita is always so enthusiastic and friendly. The mystery house with those hard to beat views was stunning.
I loved the 1st house. The bathrooms weren't as updated as those in the others but it had a lovely kitchen, more space, detached and was the cheapest.

What a lovely husband. I hope that the husband had some influence on the decision.
She's a bit annoying.
@@Ionavan1943but not as bad as many I've seen on the show.

I think you did an EXCELLENT job finding these properties.

don't forget it was 2 storey which she didn't want because of her back, then made it one of her choices at the end....

Not only no back garden, #2 is attached on both sides! What a shame.
@@tinacollins2055 I don't mind that it's attached - used to that having lived in UK most of my younger life lol.

The setting of the mystery house was magical. And fit what they said they needed. The hotel across the way on the island was on the market last year.
What a lovely couple hope they have found a property worth there ❤️ love for life❤❤❤❤😊😊
Loved the flax lesson!
Like all your hosts - Nikki, Jules, Sonali, Jonny, more - but this one (whose name I know not) is especially lovely.
They tell you the names in the credits at the end...I do wish they would introduce themselves at the start ..her name is Margherita
That was lovely. Thank you.

Nice to do follows and see how the buyers went
and who knew linen is SO BEAUTIFUL !
House 2 was Beautiful
Uploading glitches after 15 and 32 minutes marred this otherwise episode of good audio, visual and editing quality.
The seashore air adds 10 years to your life. The mystery house 🏠 is the only choice.
Why show a two story house whent they didnt one?
You could rent out one half of the mystery house and that would pay for your lifestyle by the sea

😊😊lovely program a pity we do not know their final choices..abit limited
loved them all

Another comment..first house did t have a village close by.....walkable. Not showing what they wanted.
Sorry but don't like this episode. This woman might as well move in by herself because everything is about her and her wants
AGREED - irritating is the kindest thing to be said about the "dear" woman
