I'm so glad to have finally found a cleaning channel with someone who has a normal sized house, a normal job and realistic house messes! Everything about your channel is so relatable and you're going to just keep growing!

Wow; I don’t even know where to begin to describe how amazing you are. You are the Mother Teresa of struggling house cleaners, depressed souls, those who beat ourselves up, judge our failings and all who are barely hanging on by the skin of our teeth! Thank you for your kindness, gentle words of support, acceptance, and love. I wish you were my next-door-neighbor. You seem like the best of best friends. I recently found your channel and have been so inspired. Please keep sharing your gift and uplifting the world. You are an angel!!!♥️♥️♥️

I am one of those clean people who haven't been blessed with a husband or kids yet. I want to thank you for explaining how your mind works, how the mess is made, and taking time for self care. I was mostly judgemental of people who couldn't keep a clean house, but you have changed my perspective. I like how you said you wouldn't look back on your life and think I wish I would've cleaned more. I just found your channel and watched all of your videos. I can't get enough of your voice. Thank you for helping me understand, and it makes me want to help the moms in my life. Cleaning videos relax me and you've helped me so much.

Yes preach! 👏🏻 👏🏻 I remember exactly where I was standing when I realized I would never be happy with my housekeeping when my expectations were so high. That’s perfectionism telling me I’m not finished until the whole house is done. I was standing in front of the washing machine when I realized the only way to be “finished” with the laundry is to be naked! How ridiculous is that?! Perfectionism is the worst :(

I appreciate you, Remi. When I was a young mother,I made the mistake of choosing to try and keep a clean home over spending time with my youngest son. Now my youngest is almost 27 years old, on his own, living in New York, having his own life, and it really hit me hard when you said that you cherished quality time with your boys over cleaning. I wished I had let those dirty dishes in the sink wait when he was calling out to me to play with him. If given a chance to do it all over again, I would choose sword fights with my youngest over folding clean laundry. Time is fleeting, Remi. Always choose time with your boys over anything else in the world. ❤❤❤❤

My exbf once said "you know... I hang up my clothes as soon as the dryer is done..." while side eye-ing my mountain of unfolded laundry. Well yeah, yours is like 3 shirts, two pairs of jeans and a towel. Mine is 7,000 pieces of tiny-person clothes. That night I brought the basket in to fold while we watched TV and he was like "oh, okay.... this takes forever. My bad."

@@Its_me.89 , I normally do a short walk about the place to see what is most important and then I look for cleaning products and materials to clean. I start and end with the toilet so the product in the toilet can do it work. Dry cleaning before wet cleaning. Dirty things after cleaner, vacuum cleaning before mopping the floor. Windows last if you have time and energy.

I’ve tried to motivate myself in many ways but to no avail. I think getting a few good products that you love (thinking Method but only when on offer) & some washing up gloves helps but being too regimented doesn’t work for me. Doing just 10 mins against the timer in each room made it, dare I say it, fun rather than a burden. I can’t wait to do that each day(ish) & start to see & feel a slow, gradual, positive result in each room/area. Remi has definitely changed things for me, bless her, with the revelation of executive dysfunction (yes!) & her realistic and extremely wise attitude 💜🥰❤️

I would love a decluttering series, cause I dont know where to start.
My kids are grown ups, a son and a daughter and one grand child who is 19.
My appartment is a mess. I just cant get rid of anything, mostly things from my kids, all those memories. I am a messy person but also seeking perfection.
Enjoy your kids, time goes so QuickTime, soon they are grown ups. I admit that I dont really know what to do the rest of my life. My family is my everything. I lost my soulmate five years ago so… and my son is very sick since he was a child, its sad and its lonely. Excuse my English, grannar and misspelling

I have fibromyalgia as well. Chronic fatigue is my worst symptom/condition. I have had the condition most of my life. Since I was about 10-15 started slowly developing it. It has become increasingly worse as time have progressed. I am not able to work. I couldn’t walk for many months, nearing a year. I am doing a lot of self care and gentle stuff with myself because I’ve learned that is what is going to “cure” me. The medical world will fail me because it’s all about wellness and they don’t work that way. It’s taking a lot of gentle work and just caring for myself and I’m feeling a bit better the last few months. I found EFT tapping a great tool. I am painting. I am just trying to find things for me. I love to clean but I have to really pace myself and I find techniques that are quick and easy but again gentle in terms of their impact on my family/me/my home chemically. I just want to say I hope you can find peace and happiness in small corners of your existence. It will truly make all the difference. The people in your life who don’t understand and make demands can just live with it. You’re doing the best you can and you’re doing great! ❤

I have ADHD and going on my medication was the first time in my life I did not feel this constant overwhelm and anxiety of every part of life - especially housework/organisation and it is exhausting. Add in the CFS and fibromyalgia it’s impossible to keep on top and not have a flare up/miss out on time with family. I am pregnant again and completely underestimated how hard it would be without my medication during pregnancy.. your videos are a comfort it’s nice to know there are more of me out there who have similar struggles everyday! You are an amazing woman, I’ve been there and now I’m 64 and the grandchildren come to have fun, but I can’t impress enough how much good those little slots of me time benefitted me when my boys were small. A few hours in an occasional afternoon, soak in bath, do hair, nails, general pampering stuff and then when they come back everyone benefits. All you need is a willing friend/parent etc., and you love them even more when they get home…put a casserole in the oven before you retire to the bathroom! ❤

This video is an excellent example of why the house gets messy, for those with comments... It took the first day to clean and semi maintain 2 rooms. In that time the rest of the house gets messy. It's just the way it is. And then when you focus on the other rooms the first ones gets messy again. And we start all over again. Urg. Remi, your priorities are in the right place - your well being and time with your family.

I’m married single with a house and yard to take care of. I regularly got comments from outsiders about my house and yard. No one ever noticed that when the yard was mowed and clean and the house was untidy, and when the house was clean, the yard needed attention. All of the work fell to me and here you are, working your buns off, and recognising others and their struggles. You are very sweet, you’re one of my favorite people, I wish we were neighbours. My children are all grown up and I’m an empty nester now but I still remember exactly what you were saying about feeling overwhelmed, constantly trying to keep up with cleaning and kids instantly making it messy again. I totally agree with you. Time spent with them is the absolute priority. It is precious and goes so quickly. Don’t worry about what other people think of how you should clean. Do what works for you. Thank you for your videos I expect you will help so many young Mums who are struggling to be perfect in a crazy busy world.

Oh Remi...what a joy you are. You do work so hard, I too have issues with my mind making decisions and staying motivated with the mundane day tasks. I am in my 60s and actually enjoyed tidying up after my boys when they were young as yours are. It meant they had enjoyed their time. Thank you for your nice and caring attitude. Have you ever thought about being a social worker or psychologist? You have the sense and ability to be an amazing one. I so enjoy your videos. Stay who you are, don't let other people change you. I love you. I am so proud of you. Thank you for who you are. Love your family.

Aww sweetie, I would give you a hug if I could! You are trying your best, it's almost impossible to get it done. I know this because I did what you do. We have 3 children (grown now) we ALL cleaned on Sunday. On Monday through Friday, I kept 3 infants in my home for daycare. When I put all 3 down for nap, I cleaned, prepared bottles/food. Occasionally I sat down to breathe. It worked for us. When my children got home from school, we all had tidy-up time after supper/bath. There were days I was exhausted for sure!!! Give yourself a break, and know, you're doing well ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for your videos! Even on my bad when I'm lacking motivation I still listen to your videos bc I feel seen and supported. I am a neurodivergent single parent living at home with my dad for the time being and I keep being told no matter I how tired I am at the end of the day or how much I want to relax, I have to ignore those feelings and clean, tidy up during the day, etc. etc. And it's so FRUSTRATING! It doesn't help my extremely unhygienic brother and his pet have moved back home as well. Honestly, I feel like I'm cleaning up after 2 children constantly instead of 1 and it's exhausting. Normal people just don't understand how much of a struggle cleaning is, especially with kids and other factors involved. So again, thank you for these videos, they're a great help.

To follow on my rant. I can tell you that the priority you put on Charlie and your children is the important part of your balanced approach to life.
And your message of acceptance to all of us who struggle to maintain an acceptable home is priceless. Your willingness to expose your home space and imperfections makes you so incredibly relatable. Keep up the good work!! I admire you and you inspire me. Thankyou so much.

Remi, you're a good mother and homemaker. And you've helped me get over a two week depression that left my kitchen a wreck. It became "unwrecked" while I listened to your videos. So, thank you!
Also, I discovered that my toddler didn't need a lot of toys, and that too many were sensory overload, especially before naptimes. And all those little pieces created unnecessary clutter for everyone. She got on happily using kitchen utensils, plastic bowls, etc, and her imagination.
Also, a folded sheet or a big towel on the floor became her play space. She enjoyed having her own "territory", and I was able to work around her without disruption. I'm just saying, more isn't always better; sometimes it's just more. Keep it simple.
Cheers from the redwoods in Northern California.

When my boys were young I once got the entire house clean, and maintained it for 2 weeks...and everyone was miserable! I was tired and they were tired of hearing me go on about it. After that failed experiment, I went back to daily imperatives: wash the dishes, do a load of laundry, what's for dinner? and the rest can happen whenever. We were so much happier, and now that they are grown, I am so thankful for our family time and the memories. You are enough just as you are.

I love your videos! My kids are adults now and I live in a small house but can't manage much due to chronic illness.
One thing I did learn was to do what you do and to give the kids the jobs that they do best at. My youngest daughter has executive function issues and found tidying a whole room impossible when she was little but she excelled at sorting small areas and putting things in it to make it look beautiful. She was also a very good cook and so she often cooked meals instead of doing the big cleaning.
If she is home now, the best way for her to help is if I write out exactly what needs to be done task by task. She finds this much less overwhelming than if I just say could you clean the kitchen.
You are a really ace mum - it took me years to learn some of the things you are doing. Your boys are lucky to have you. xxx
