- Its FINALLY dyno day for the Full Send Turbo Civic. In the last video we swapped out my fully built LS VTEC engine for a bone stock GSR engine. The built motor started making metal shavings with only a week left until I was supposed to drive the Civic 6 hours round trip to Automotion Wisconsin Dells. After swapping in the bone stock GSR engine, I reinstalled my big turbo kit and all of the supporting mods. The supporting mods on this setup are capable of over 700whp. With that said, the engine is our weak point. It's time to turn up the boost and see what it can hold.

Listen man that tuner is an idiot and you know it. They were willing to let you walk out of there at almost 500 hp. It doesn't matter it was only 15 psi or whatever it was the power heat you're creating is what the motor can't handle. 368 whatever you have now is still too high.
These engines are "safe" 3 to 350 range in stock form. Don't want to see you with more useless money into an engine when you don't have to. You sensed it I seen it in your face.

479hp on 15psi is fkn strooong brotha! Congrats! Good setup right there. I would personally stay at ~400 on stock sleeves tbh. After that, your room for errors gets very thin. If it's hot one day and the ECU pulls a little bit of fuel to compensate, but the compensation tables are not dead nuts on, kaboom.

Mikey’s the man. I got a Junkyard H22a in my civic H2B swap. Mikey tuned it 3 years ago it made 217whp on a bone stock H22a. I beat the shit out of it everyday. It’s running great to this day. I hope your recovering well Mikey!

You should have turned it down to 250, B18's are getting hard to find, especially GSR's! Don't kill another one! That said, great channel and I hope you get the built LS/VTEC going soon. Then you can lay down some pulls!!
I have a jdm b16 type r head with port/polish Brian crower stage 2 turbo cams, adjustable cam gears and titanium springs/retainers for sale along w a fresh new seals and gaskets etc B18b block :3 head has never been decked or anything.

Love your videos man! I’m currently building a EG myself! LS vtec (b16a head) fully built with ferrea 110 lb springs, super tech valve guides and skunk 2 lost motion assembly also got skunk 2 pro 1 cams and skunk 2 cam gears. Sent the block to get css and currently waiting for the block to get back, got wiseco forged flat top pistons, running a Garrett 6262 gen 2 turbo and hoping to have it done and dialed in by FL2k in October

Have fun with it man! But if you want it to last I personally would definitely turn it down to what the dyno man said bc 379 wheel is really like 400 crank which is pushing it on stock motor. But either way 479 is insane.
379 wheel is more like 415-440 at the crank but I agree with you.

To be honest I was expecting something nice just from your setup alone, awesome. I have been let down so many times with built bottoms I have just pushed O.E parts
So happy u put the gsr in it nd they u had it as a back up. Honestly was about to let u barrow mine if it came to it. Not say ls-v is bad but last 20yrs I’ve been in Hondas they never seem to last.

479 on the stock block is crazy , I've seen fully built d series make barely 300 , MAD RESPECT

I've been runnin 510whp on a stock BOTTOM end gsr and upgraded valves springs retainers for like 2.5 years and I've beat the living piss out of this car

Sounds like a good reliable tune but yes 479hp is way too much! 369 is a safe tune as I mentioned before I tuned my boost up on a stock block and blew it lol so stay in low boost if you want a running engine/car fun little ripper with those numbers!

400 is good for a long time for the stock setup, more than that and your starting to push the stock engine, what did it rev to? I’d guess 8000 range? But that made sick power dude nice job!

I told you I make 564 at 22psi on my built bottom gsr with stock head. And I literally beat on it daily.
Stock sleeves, just eagle rods, nippon pistons arp everything.

I have an integra dc2 vtir. I need people's opinions: Do I k-swap or turbo charge it? Could people give me insight into reliability, power, drive feeling, etc. My budget is 10-15k in aud. Goal is to have a nice fast street car (250-350 hp)

Anything over 350 on a stock b18 is just a ticking time bomb due to cylinder wall thickness but good luck

lol its not wall thickness thats the problem. its the stock rods and pistons that are the weak parts. plenty of people with rods and piston setups with stock sleeves at 500hp. now over 500hp is the weak point of the sleeves also its in the tune at those levels. i wanted to add this is for ls/gsr not b20
@@305Pyro B20’s are cheeks. They have a monolithic sleeve design which I’ve seen na builds crack the sleeves under 200hp but I’ve also seen boosted ones last a while with 300hp+ it’s just a very unpredictable engine. Yeah they make more torque than the other b series engines but does that really matter when you can’t make much power? If you plan on doing a swap in a 80-00 Honda you might as well just k swap it with the prices of the b/h/f vtec engines today. K is king anyways. There’s plenty stock internal k’s making 600hp+ and they last.

stock gsr can hold up to 500hp, but a nice reliable fun would be ideal at 300-350hp. Stock motor with bigger injectors, good turbo like a precision 62/66.
Is that 479 on stock pistons and rods? If so not increasing the ring gap it won't live long

Dynos scare the shit outta me.
When I took mine to test it’s might… I was cringing 😬 each pull… and due to lack of time and heat soak way more duty cycle was needed to make the same target boost as I do on the street. And of course I wanted to see a 4 in front. Got it at 24psi. 405whp (2020 Veloster N stock long block, 100% m1 .. fuck the water that car needs the additional fueling)
Crazy thing was the peak power was at 7140..
When he let off. The turbo kit has way more in it. Motor limiting factor.
Guess for yiurs is 473whp
I have much confidence in those Honda motors if u get a good one
Stock type R - drop in turbo makes 533/429 on pump e50 maxxing out the stock MAF in a rampage 3.5" housing- getting an upgraded MAF sensor and should pull 570-580ish once we can run more air through the sensor and fuel it properly
Still on stock exhaust so its super stealthy lmfao - need a clutch to hold more torque down low tho - left it at 429 bur the car can probably make 460-480 even lower then it makes 429 right now
Dyno helps monitor all the little details with knock, boost ramp and misfires
If its clean and safe pull on back to back dyno pulls with no gremlins - im happy
Heatsoak sucks on the dyno tho - keep a water sprayer to cool off the intercooler between runs - thats a big indicator of how much the turbo is struggling if the IATs creep up - when I monitor them on the street the core does a good job with air hitting it vs sitting in hot engine bay dyno conditions lol
