I still have no clue how you got this things ignition timing correct, your first video putting the engine back together I commented that your intake side cam gear spun when you went to tourqe it down, unless you fixed that then I wouldn't make any boost on this engine
You're gonna do it John you'll make it big with the work you're putting in. Look at it this way these are gonna be the videos your million subscribers will go back to and binge watch you're setting yourself up for major success
Man just wanted to say your the reason I got my EG hatch. Honestly can’t wait to see your channel get more attention because your videos are always fire 🔥
It’s bone stock other than the exhaust the previous owner put on it. I just got a B18C1 block to hopefully starting putting together a LS VTEC build. I’m super excited.
Alex, if you wanna go Ls/Vtec you need a non Vtec block and a Vtec head. I’d recommend just going full B18c, or sell the vtec block and buy an ls block for way cheaper! Good luck with the build! 🤙
@@boosted_john a lot actually if you have ever been to the dells it’s the whole strip lined with all different types of cars! Burnout competition Saturday and drift event Sunday every year! Keeps getting bigger and bigger
John your eg is gonna be a BEAST this summer! I’m actually going to boost my Lsvtec in my eg hatch probably within the next month I’d definitely want to be on the channel!
So stoked for you man! You’ve come so far since the lsv eBay turbo kit. Love the 1320 ramhorn and purple cover that’s the plan for my bay as well! Looks fire 🔥 can’t wait to see what the car makes! Might have to make the trip to wisconsin since I’m in MN. It’s 3 hours from me
I had the same block plug on my ls vtec and they aren't very good you see how they don't screw in correctly it was leaking a bit and when I tried to remove it it stripped inside the block I had to buy a huge tap and repair threads and use oem plug since it's steel and not aluminum just drill a whole in the middle and add a fitting you will think me later
You only need a thin layer of Honda bond where the oil pump and rear main seal housing mating surfaces are the thin little cracks on both sides of the bottom of the engine they come with a thin layer of Honda bond from the factory as they tend to leak if no Honda bond is used
That oil pan gasket is even reusable if tightened properly. No rtv just that gasket with metal in it. Speedfactory even sells that exact gasket. Hope it works good. Hopefully you dont have any metal shavings in your turbo or oil lines when the last motor went.
Hey John, Invest in a large rubber mallet to whack that oil pan off =D, also you can use a gasket + Permatex Ultra Black which is a flexible oil proof sealant, that usually stops it leaking well and try not to over torque the studs, I have the same pan.
Honda bond if used on a clean and dry surface is bullet proof main reason why Acura/Honda uses it as a sealant from factory on 80% of all sealing surfaces. Coming from an Acura Tech I even use it on my turbo e30 instead of RTV with my gaskets no problems…
Hi John, great that the turbo is back on. I hope you will update everything step by step. What ramhorn brand u use and what turbo? Things I can not find for my future build is like : where to connect your aem wideband to the hondata s300? Would be nice about the flex fuel sensor how to install and setup with hondata. Most People are ging K-series but my car has original B16A2 so i want to stay with it. Great videos.
Hey John I was wondering what wheel and tire setup that is in the civic? Also I’m loving the videos I’m new to your channel and can’t wait to see much more
Honda-bond on the oil pan gasket is 10/10 the worst decision to make, can vouch for this since it broke the studs off on the oil pump from expanding when dry lmao.
@@rowdy6087 yes if you can get it from honda do it. I worked at a honda dealer for 8 years and most aftermarket stuff doesn’t work right in regards to maintenance
BTW, with honda bond, it degrades qnd clogs the oil sump after a longer time. Ruined more then one motors bc of that. I didn't put it on tho it was cars I bought
That poor oil pan lol but used that perma dry felpro pan gasket over a year ago hands down best design ever if your oil pan leaks after installing 1 of them u shouldn't be working on cars
Hey John. Ive got a b18c im gathering parts to build it for boost. Many guys who are into hondas in my country say that im gonna crack a sleeve at some point. Im putting in forged pistons, forged rods, arp headstuds and a block guard. I wanna run my high pressure around 1.2 bars and low around .7 bars. Im shooting for 300 to 350 at the wheels. What do you think? Will i get a cracked sleeve ? Boring it to 81.25mm using wiseco 9.9:1 comp.
It's possible you will hit 300hp without going to 1.2 bar. The block guard is definitely going to help. Have you considered re-sleeving the block for piece of mind?
@@DamianHyde i have considered but because i live in an island in europe it is a pretty expensive process. What i read is the reason sleeves crack is detonation. It would be good to know a few ways and measures i can take to prevent that from happening.
Kinda new viewer but u may want to drill the baffling out of the valve cover to make sure no dirt or sand from being blasted is in there. Heard tons of horror stories about that happening
I have gone to automotion ever since I had my license. It use to be very sick and respectful. Now its turned into a cop festival from all the brodozers and hicks. Oh John, John, John……noooooooo on the block-fitting. If the threads don’t feel like they are working, stop the presses. That block-fitting obviously has the wrong thread-pitch and I’m hoping you didn’t crack your block forcing it in there. Buying a tap for that will be more expensive than that fitting. I’m guessing the block is a 1.25 pitch and the fitting was a 1.5.
so about the ranch, i feel like ranch is supposed to be more thick than other traditional dressings. But I dont want my shit to be like mayo yanno what im sayin.

Ranch dressing... as long as it's blue cheese I'm good lol.
the best ranch dressing is that homemade restaurant style ranch thats more watery

if ranch was any thinner it wouldn't stay on pizza while you eat it, so thicker I suppose.

Honda bond is made for pans that don’t have gaskets. These engines are meant to only have gaskets due to the pan not being a flat matting surface
