I absolutely love this. This is more or less how I imagined how the Commonwealth would operate after the ending to the game. The Minutemen and the Brotherhood form an uneasy alliance to purge the commonwealth of threats while the Railroad egress to escape the Brotherhood’s wrath.
I have some vague ideas of where to go with the railroad but probably nothing that will come up till at least the end of the year.

I wonder how the Minutemen would react if the NCR showed up in the Commonwealth.
probably depend on how the NCR behaved. If they showed up and said "this is ours now", they would probably react badly.
@@nexbil01 I also wonder how the Minutemen would fight the NCR. Would the Minutemen adopt guerrila tactics and turn the Commonwealth into the NCR's Vietnam or would they fight using conventional warfare? Another thing I wonder is if they'd be "clean" with one another. Would the Minutemen accept an NCR trooper's surrender and make them a POW,or would they just shoot them even while they surrender,and vice versa (altho I doubt the NCR would shoot surrendering troops since they seem to have rules for that)? Because I can see some soldiers struggle to fight one another. Hell,I could see something like the Christmas Truce of 1914 happening between small pockets of Minutemen and NCR troops.
the NCR would be at the end of a very long supply chain fed by slow moving brahmin caravans. Most likely that they could hit hard at first but would soon be running out of their own supplies and forced to scavenge which would make them vulnerable.
I want a DLC of this, the story that u made is awesome.

I am surprised that the General in your story didn't employ highly customized Sentrybots as part of their caravan protection. I know that's what I do.
Nothing says "safe" like a warmonger sentrybot with twin gatling lasers patroling Boston.
I think sentrybots tendency to blow up in the middle of the battle tends to upset caravan owners.

I figured that would be expensive as hell. Sentry bots chug down hundreds of rounds per fight and possibly power cores too. They also use legs so unless the minutemen managed to clear all roads, the sentry bots would have a hard time trying to Reach settlements like templines bluff
They'd also need to build new infrastructure to Reach remote settlements
So maybe sentry bots could be employed to transport high value assetd
Going a similar route with my game. After the Institute was destroyed and the Brotherhood and Gunners were driven out, The Mayor of Sanctuary Hills, a guy I named Trenton Williams won the Presidential Election of 2288, with Gwen McNamara as his Vice President.
In his first term, he wiped the Gunners out in the New York area and finished off the East Coast Brotherhood in the Capital Wasteland. Both territories were annexed (even Amata was elected Governor of the newly formed state of New Columbia, which is the Capital Wasteland).
Williams Won re-election in 2292, then Vice President McNamara won in 2296 after defeating A Senator from North Landon (the state I’m calling the Hartford, Connecticut area) named Richard Norris. Her running mate was the Governor of Baltimore (the state bordering the Capital Wasteland/New Columbia).
In her term, she dismantled the remaining Slave trade from The Capital Wasteland that retreated to the Sun Belt. Currently in my timeline, she lost re-election to a Philadelphia Senator (the Pennsylvania area) named Quinn Cunningham. He promised to focus more on domestic issues rather than foreign issues that included encouraging funding for a Police force for each state.
My Hancock is still mayor of Goodneighbor, but may be eyeing a Representative Seat, or he may throw his hat in the ring in 2308 (considering how popular Cunningham is, he’ll have a better shot at winning in 2308 than in 2304) love this kind of stuff and I can’t wait to see more! You’ve earned my subscription!

@@nexbil01 I’d agree. If I do get into UA-cam and have the time for it one day, I’d do it. I really like focusing on the fictional “political” aspect of the Commonwealth.
I just generate random names and make up backstories for them. Of course, if they’re pre-made characters, I just explain how they got into politics. Blake Abernathy for example is a Senator from Boston. The Minority party leader in the Senate is also Rosie (one of Dave’s former wives from the Republic of Dave). Meanwhile in the Council of Representatives, Abraham Finch is the majority leader, while Earnest Roe, the former Mayor of Canterbury Commons is the minority party leader.
Maybe one day, I could suggest a Presidential election coverage via radio in the Commonwealth? I also happened to notice there’s an extended Presidential term limit (Hancock got three terms if I’m not mistaken). Maybe you could do a coverage of his potential successor.

Wow this is cool! I always had some ideas about how the MM would put the commonwealth back together and work with the BOS so I'm really happy to see that someone put the time and effort into making it a story!

@@nexbil01 the closest I've done in my actual game is have the settlements much more specialized and designed to fit a certain utility look like starlight drive-in being made to look like a big trade/distribution hub as if was where all the north west settlements sent their caravans before they made their way down to Bunker hill which was the central distribution center. I got the larger Jamaica Plains mod and really built up the town so it can sorta serve as a high density population center outside of Diamond City and possibly serve to host embassies from the Capitol Wasteland and eventually Appalachia and the NCR
@@alexdivision4320 One of the flaws in regular fallout 4 is that all settlements end up being farms for better or worse. Another is that the factions never talk to each other. A lot of missed potential.
I’m hoping for a Chapter 2 for the raiders at Nuka World. And also, is it possible for a second Gunners War when Sim Settlements Chapter 2 releases?
Nuka world is 2 chapters down the road. Next up is far harbor.

If it's not in their codices then it's forbidden and bad. But they have very little influence on what happens on the other side of the continent and they're on the edge of getting wiped out by the NCR so their opinion won't count for much in a few years.
@@JRYYD their opinion wouldn’t matter, elder Maxson by fallout 4 is the supreme commander or whatever they call it of the entire BOS
of that I'm not sure of. They keep changing the lore. The last lore I've seen is that arthur maxson is only in charge of the east coast branch. Technically there is a ruling council and elder in the west coast that could override him, That's why I put elder of the east coast in the new england treaty under his signature.

I can see Hancock as first president. He does seem the logical choice as the sole survivor would be busy exploring or rebuilding the Commonwealth. I'm surprised that Vault 88 was not mentioned as one of the founding members of the New Commonwealth Provisional Government but maybe it will be in a later time.

Damn man! I finally found your channel again. You really have a great way to tell your story in a concise and precise way. With knowledge of the game locations, strategy, roles. Even if fallout 4 has enough recycled elements from the saga, honestly it's tiring to not see new features. Minutemen and railroad fit greatly with boston theme. Maybe, instead of the bos there could be a prewar faction similar like the real life massachusetts national guard, many ghoulified officers and members and armed and splintered, maybe having ties with the gunners and be used for the minutemen to form a federation. Supermutants only limited to Trinity, some wandering ones occupying settlements or Downtown skirmishes. You could make a diamond from the broken and half finished game that is fallout 4. For me it's been years since trying to write and continuing a long ass fanfiction. Any chance I could shamelessly steal some ideas of yours?

i really like this seires and like that the minite men were able toe become a very compertent force dispite the absence of the lone survivor. but it feels strange that many of the promate raider leaders and super mutants like swarn wasnt taken out during their adventures

I absolutely love this. One note, though I understand why you might not have done this: if you're gonna talk about war crimes, maybe the crime shouldn't be something the Brotherhood is known for and would be common practice, like wiping out ferals. But if the Cambridge Crater had non-ferals or if the Paladins started torturing or mutilating the ferals without killing them, that might be worth generating some headlines.
Again, maybe it's a good thing you can't take this advice in hindsight.
I think it's mainly to highlight that although they're working together that the brotherhood and the commonwealth don't totally share viewpoints on things.
I'm watching the Far Harbor parts now. I see how that's been foreshadowed. This is a pretty rad series!

You should make some fallout 1 or 2 lore if possible. That will be the most amazing thing to come out from this channel I think.

I would make lore for those if the graphics were better or if I had access to a good artist. Modders are working on making Fallout 4 versions of those but those are years away.

The problem with destroying the BoS in the commonwealth is that there are more in the capital wasteland and that just sets up more wars into the future. Exciting from a war standpoint but pointless if you're trying to rebuild civilization. Just makes it easy for things like raiders and gunners to exist.

the thing is that you have to ask yourself is it preferable to have a civilized rival on your border or just bandits and barbarians beyond your borders. The romans learned too late that having civilized neighbors was preferable to having barbarians on the edges of your lands.

Years ago I proposed a Fallout 4 rewrite where the Institute hires out groups from the wasteland to fight for them and they somehow hire a small group of legionnaires and enclave soldiers. No one was too interested in the idea.

Right now the bulk of the brotherhood is going back to the capital wasteland to clean up years of neglect there. Though there may be a conflict between the two some time in the future.

If the Raiders decided to hire mercenaries from Gunners and began using bombs more frequently, I wonder how things will turn out for the minutemen and the brotherhood
I cut out one scene explaining the gunners relationship with raiders and I'm kicking myself for cutting it now. The raiders and gunners have a relationship like Lions and hyenas. They're both predators but gunners see raiders as low class competitors and raiders see gunners as bullies.

@@nexbil01 That's because in 2280 a group of enplays from the original base of the White Springs bunker White Springs bunker decided it was high time to rebuild and reseto rebuild and we secure West Virginia myself including being vice president shadow oh of the rebuilt 45th president Using an ojin 3 body the enclave had found they rebuilt formal president 45 Donald Trump they secured many places and clean West Virginia Arkansas and California by 2290 like I said they were strong enough and took out the minute men's apply lines and managed to conquer turning them into the American infantry of the month

It would've been awesome if Bethesda did a DLC like this, going up against a unified Raider army with the aid of whatever factions the player sided/aligned with. It could've put alot of love towards the Minutemen without needing Mods to do it, let's be honest, I think Obsidian did a better Fallout that made the players feel like their choices made an impact

The next video is probably coming out in mid November and is going to be a Far Harbor story. I can always use good ideas but at the moment I have this, a nuka world story, and possibly a glowing sea story if people are still interested in this channel. I would like to hear your ideas but it will probably be awhile before I can do anything.
@@nexbil01 I would like to hear what happens with the glowing sea, as for my idea I can in a few comments give you my take on what Mr House would do after the second battle of Hover Dam. I have tried to make it up from his point of view and in a manner that is in line with his goals and worldview. I will be leaving it on your after credits scenes so you and others can give your thoughts, hope you like them.
The after credits scene drops some hints about the glowing sea story. You can also watch the Garvey dossier video for more hints.

Dude how do you make this awesome video?
I used a lot of assets from the modder community on nexusmods that are listed in the credits.
All the console commands that bethesda left in fallout 4 helped out.
The screen capture and video capture software from my graphics card.
A lot of freeware like GIMP and Blender. Speaking of which I had to teach myself Blender to make the maps. Still don't know that much about Blender or the effects would be better.
Hours of listening to non-copyright music and sound effects to find the right sounds.
And quite honestly a lot of work. Some 5 second scenes took like half an hour to set up. Shoot the picture and then move on.
So it takes usually ends up being between 2 to 3 months to do each of these long videos
These are always good videos.
So I already said that an alliance between the BoS and the MM is unlikely but I think I should explain why I think that is. This is gonna be a long comment but I like writing about fallout so whatever.
Before I start explaining I should say one thing:
I get that a lot of people want the BoS and the MM to get along because the BoS are cool af and the MM are the good guys. BUT the BoS are NOT the good guys. I don't understand how people are still defending them.
So let explain why the two factions will never get along.
1. The MM are flawed and not all of them are selfless good guys and I know that. But you know who is a selfless good guy? Preston. Preston is supposed to show the player what a hardcore MM is. And guess what. Preston hates the BoS. If Preston dislikes/hates the BoS then the MM dislike/hate the BoS
2. The people of the commonwealth dislike the BoS and don't trust them. No one invited the Brotherhood to the commonwealth they just showed up and wanted the people to obey them. They have no respect for anyone who isn't Brotherhood. They even call the GENERAL of the MM a "civilian". The BoS don't protect settlers like the Minutemen do but they still demand food from them and have no problem with intimidating anyone who doesn't comply.
3. The Brotherhood don't care if a settlement is under MM protection or not. They'll still demand food from it
4. The Brotherhood HATES non humans. Guess who doesn't. The MM. The Brotherhood attacked the railroad just because they help synths. The BoS would never allow the MM to recruit synths , friendly super mutants and ghouls. I mean their damn leader was ready to kill one of his best soldiers/friends just because he was a synth. You really want me to belive that he would sign a treaty with a ghoul? No. Just no.
5. The BoS would never allow the MM to become powerful and they would definitely not help the MM create a government/nation with an army. If the MM destroy the institute then BoS soldiers will say things like "I don't think I like the Minutemen having this much firepower." or something along those lines. They are are clearly uncomfortable with the fact that the MM are getting more powerful. They have made it pretty clear that they want to be the ones in charge and that that they'll only allow other factions to become powerful and have a lot of technology if they have the same goals as the BoS. The MM don't.
6. I get the MM not wanting to attack the BoS because they have more soldiers in the capital wasteland but if elder maxon is killed then the BoS loose not only their leader but also one of their most fanatical members. If maxon dies then maybe the Brotherhood will realize what they're doing is wrong. But even if they don't they still wont be able to attack the commonwealth. I mean the first thing the MM do is destroy the airship. The airship took years to build and the MM destroyed it in minutes. The BoS probably wont do the same thing again. But it doesn't really matter how the BoS retaliate. Any attack on the commonwealth would probably fail. After the airship is destroyed the BoS would need to prepare for an invasion and in that time the MM would have time to get ready and become more powerful. Also almost no one in the commonwealth likes the BoS. If they attack then the people will start joining the MM to fight them. And to be honest it doesn't matter whether people will fight under the banner of the Minutemen or not because they will fight even if they don't like the MM. The commonwealth doesn't like the BoS and it has made that pretty clear.
It's not really about factions liking each other. it's more about international politics and disliking others worse. In WW2 the western allies and the soviets worked together not because they liked each other but because they hated the nazis more. Preston may not like the brotherhood but he hates gunners, raiders, ferals, and super mutants more. Besides which, the BoS has something that he needs. The MM don't use tactics and strategy is a foreign concept. The MM started out as a militia of armed civilians. The ones that do use tactics and strategy are the BoS. Again nothing to do with liking the BoS but recognizing the need to work with them.
The BoS does hate non humans but a lot of people in the commonwealth do as well. Diamond city kicked out all the ghouls, covenant was founded on the basis of hating synths, Desdemona from the RR does not trust the MM because she knows that some humans hate synths. Even some members of the MM hate synths and ghouls. So there are plenty of people in the commonwealth on the brotherhood's side on this issue. People that would appreciate the BoS position.
Not to mention that the BoS have a reputation and a cachet that really no one else does. More than a few dirt poor farmers or city dwellers would love to ally themselves or work with one of the most powerful groups on the continent specially if their enemies are your enemies.
Another point. After the institute was defeated there was no commonwealth. Not as a nation. There was the MM but they're not a government. The commonwealth is dotted with small independent settlements and cities but no single identity. People in diamond city and goodneighbor would not necessarily get along and opinions vary from settlement to settlement. So there is no single national identity yet. It takes a big event to forge a nation. Something that the BoS is willing to provide limited aid to.
Would the BoS allow the commonwealth to rise? Yes. From the BoS point of view, a civilized neighbor is preferable to anarchy and lawlessness. We have precedent for this in game. The western BoS worked with the NCR when it first became a thing. The split did not come till later. So a stable government is preferable to anarchy that could one day spill over onto the capital wasteland.
Maxson. A lot of people make Maxson out to be a crazed single minded despot that doesn't listen or negotiate. They don't remember that he brokered the deal that got the outcasts reincorporated into the eastern BoS. All the while keeping the Lyon's pride faction of the BoS happy and not splitting off on their own. In addition Maxson was raised watching both high elder Lyons and his daughter and their style of command. So Maxson is capable of listening and negotiating.
Do the MM and BoS have to have the same goals? No. We right now do not have the same goals as our allies. In fact we argue with our allies all the time. But that doesn't mean that there aren't points of agreement or things that we cooperate in. As allies they run things their way in their countries but they can still co-exist with us.

The BoS got along with the ncr but when the ncr got to powerful for the brotherhoods liking they immediately went to war with them because of one disagreement (I think it had something to do with technology). And that's not the only time the BoS did something like that. The BoS came to the commonwealth and immediately started a war with the institute. A bit later they started a war with the railroad while being at war with the institute. That's just stupid. Not only that but they go out of their way to destroy arcadia despite arcadia being very peaceful and far away. Do you really think the BoS wont start a war with the MM? I mean the MM (or at least your MM) recruit non humans. That's reason enough for the BoS to start a war.
You also said that the MM don't use strategy or tactics. That's kind of false. The MM aren't a proper military but they do use strategy and tactics. They don't just blindly charge the enemy. If the general starts a war with the brotherhood then Preston will tell you to build more artillery (if you don't have enough already) Then they coordinate an attack on the airship. The operation even has a name: Operation deliberate phoenix. They even manage to keep the Operation a secret. When you take the castle back Preston organizes an assault force near the castle and when you arrive at the castle you and the MM discuss what strategy you should use to take the castle back. They also use ranks like general and lieutenant. Does that sound like a faction who has no idea what tactics and strategies are? And yes I know that most of the minutemen aren't trained soldiers but most people in the commonwealth already know how to handle a gun otherwise they wouldn't be able to protect themselves from threats. And lets not forget that people can be trained. There are plenty of talented people in the MM like Ronnie Shaw and Preston or the General who can train them. You are kind of underestimating the minutemen and overestimating the brotherhoods kindness/ tolerance.
@@faithlesspancake4800 the one problem with your argument is that you're conflating the eastern BoS with the western. Many people think that the eastern BoS is now totally independent of the west and that the western branch may not even exist by the time of FO4.
One of the reasons that the eastern expeditions took place was to get rid of those in the BoS that did not agree with the hard line that the western brotherhood took. People like elder Lyons.
So are the eastern BoS open minded and friendly to non humans? No as I said in my previous response they're not.
Are they way more pragmatic than the western branch. Way, way more. And this goes back to the question of the eastern leadership, or in other words, Maxson.
Maxson had already brokered deals to re-integrate the outcasts into his chapter and take a chapter that was broken and rebuild it. The capital wasteland brotherhood had brokered deals to distribute water along with other non-BoS groups in the capital wasteland.
It's no stretch to think that Maxson is pragmatic enough to deal with commonwealth leaders. And as I said there are people in the commonwealth that would be more than willing to deal with Maxson.
Strategy. A bit of a difference between dealing with 1 target, the prydwen, than dealing with 3 major gunner bases, 4 fire bases, 6 listening posts, and roving patrols all at the same time. Meanwhile managing supplies, transport, and fire support. Something that not even Ronnie has experience with. Managing a war is something that the BoS did while fighting the enclave. If the BoS is willing to help plan strategy then it would be beyond foolish to not accept their help.
Ranks. The general ends up being sent on missions by his subordinate which is more bethesda's fault really because they seemingly don't know how military ranks work. But other than the mention of a lieutenant there's no proof at all that any sort of military hierarchy is used. For the most part they roam round in small groups.
Am I underestimating the MM? The MM just after the institute raid? no. For the most part they're undertrained, under supplied, and more loyal to their local settlements than the idea of a commonwealth. Which as I said still didn't exist as a political entity even after the institute.
The MM after the commonwealth comes into being can be all that you say but at the moment they're not. But once they're organized they can be, specially if they receive even moderate support from the BoS.

1-Tribal politics (they are not nations so i call em tribes) are not internet fights. You can say those ghouls are porks and you need to erradicate them, and then making an agree with to supply your troops with food, ammo and hands...human hands. I don't want to put real expamples, but history is long enough to find something similar.
Ideologies are not in the sphere of international intertribe politics. That's all excuses for the plebs.
2-Tribes and nations can bring aid to each other because wothiness, and two years later putting bombs in a kindergarten in east ger...you know make a cold war.
Policitcs can change so fast because no ruler had since humans are in earth integrity with himself...and they debt a lot to other people who aid those to rule. So yes, BoS can be a trustly friend today and two years later make a move to annex everything you got because "i want banana".
3-Tactics. Tactics are more than just a man who knows. Is a lot of people who knows their position in the piramidal command, and normal people are not really agree with orders...and less if they gonna die for other people orders. They know how, where and when act folowing the orders of their superiors. Is more than go there and purge, or go there and throw some arty and wait untill victory. Good officials with poor troops and/or poor subofficers are like a boxing fan who never boxxed. You know but you can't.
If i need to compare the "actual" MM with something, i compare with the KMT chinese army during WW2, who were more or less well equipped, they know the basics, but they was leadered by warlords who cared more about their own lands than the war itself. And the lack of officials made them a ineficcient warband really big but hard to put in movement.
I always saw the player charecter becoming the president of the commonwealth government handing command of the minutemen to ronny shaw
mythical heroes tend to work best when they do their thing and disappear. They start going bad when they hang around too long.

I'm not a fan of the Minutemen, but that's because they were so underdeveloped it's infuriating. I've gotten play ideas from this a literally walked MM unit to wipe out Gunner and Raider areas even if the game doesn't recognize it.

i love the whole thing but, i would like a couple more victory's for the bad guys it seems the minutemen just point to what they want to take bombarde it and then take it with their solders

Disclaimer: this comment is probably the longest you’ll ever read so I wouldn’t recommend trying but if you do decide to I feel I bring up a pretty good plan for the future of the commonwealth and how I think the institute can fit in that future 😅.
So glad I found your channel😁! This is how I always imagined the commonwealth post main story.
The only thing I strongly disagreed with in the main story’s ending was that each faction insisted of completely blowing up the institute.
Don’t get me wrong. The institute needed to to die as it was and a LOT of their projects were either focused on unethical goals or had unethical methods being used in them. But Oxhorn mentioned something that struck me as weird as well. That even the RAILROAD wants to blow up the institute😂! Literally the only known means of synth reproduction. And essentially dooming the new synth species to eventual extinction.
I understand the BoS would never allow synths to escape or allow the synth factories to remain running. I also understood the institute was also a symbol of fear to the people of the commonwealth and that they would call for its complete destruction but as the general I feel like the much wiser decision wouldn’t be complete destruction.
Because I do believe the institute could be humanity’s best hope for the future. But it wasn’t the best hope as it was. Rather it was dooming humanity and under Shawn’s rule a nearly completely malicious organization. But not everyone in the institute was evil and there are some really good videos on UA-cam that explain why Shawn was just an AWFUL leader😅 and crazy at that. That the institute had done terrible things prior to Shawn’s promotion to director but that it was it’s worse under his direction.
So as the general I would broker a peace. I would attack the institute with my minuteman and then OCCUPY it😌. But don’t get me wrong a lot of scientists would die. Like my first order of business would be to spare as many lives as possible including non-hostile gen 3 synths and after taking control gather every single survivor into the the central hall. Then based on my experiences touring the institute under Shawn, I would immediately execute the scientists I knew were the most extreme, zealous, loyal, and downright evil. Of course not allowing the children to see.
This would also show the remaining scientists that this was in fact a hostile takeover and that their lives would be at my mercy. All while they know the minuteman behind me are just itching to gun them all down for what they’d done to their friends and families over the years. But then I’d explain to the remaining scientists that I’m not an evil tyrant like Shawn and that I would assure that no harm would come to innocent residents such as the children or scientists that dealt with less unethical experiments and exhibited more of a healthy moral compass still. We’d process and interview the survivors. Find out what they did and question them to see where their worldviews lie. This wouldn’t stop after a day or two but could go on for much longer to try to see if they slip up and if they were hiding their true philosophies during earlier interviews in hope of telling us what we want to hear. This is still in the purge period and by the end the most close minded and unethical or downright insane scientists would be executed. And the rest would be treated with dignity and be taken care of. Despite some objections from some of my own troops. A show of mercy and compassion in hope of a return in the like. During this time and in the following days news would’ve spread to other factions immediately that not only had the institute finally been infiltrated and defeated but occupied by the minutemen. I would immediately reach out to the railroad and BoS separately. The railroad first to organize a covert mass exodus of gen 3 synths immediately following the battle. After screening for possible infiltrators such as coursers or civilian replacements that hadn’t gone topside yet. Synth factories halted immediately and the railroad get to save more synths in a couple days then in the entire history of their organization. The BoS are told the institute is under minuteman control and that they are not allowed access at the moment BUT that they will be given access once we finish processing the scientists emphasizing that the scientists we allow to live will be under minuteman protection and treated as commonwealth citizen a on house arrest. As a show of good faith we’ll send them top of the line institute tech for their scribes to show them that if they just give us a little time it WILL be worth their while.
Once we finish processing the scientists I’d allow the BoS to enter the institute with a main force of scribes while only allowing a small contingency of knights as escort to ease their minds. I’d then attempt to broker a peace with Maxson the same way Preston brokered a peace in your video but in this instance the institute is part of the deal. The institute is now property of the commonwealth as per the minuteman and until we hash out a formal alliance BoS non combat members will be given essentially full access to all of the institute tech but cannot confiscate anything unless it is brought up and agreed upon by the general and the high elder. Which means the commonwealth ALSO has access to vast and irreplaceable resources, tech, and centuries of knowledge of the institute😁!
As advanced as they are the institute could allow farming and construction in settlements to have greater yields in fractions of the time. To throw all fit hat away is downright foolish. All of the unethical experiments will be immediately confiscated and destroyed alongside the BoD. I will immediately begin implementing a program where the BoS is allowed to send as many scribes in as they wish to study the tech. The hope is that the remaining institute scientists are in a sense prisoner citizens😅. It sounds bad I know but they are former members of an evil organization and have to earn trust. So they in order to survive they will have to cooperate with commonwealth scientist and scholars like Curie as well as BoS scribes.
But what about the children? The institute is literally the PERFECT place to establish a proper education system for the commonwealth. BoS squires, commonwealth children, and the children of institute scientists will learn together. And some will live together per like a boarding school type of program that rewards parents with trusting us with their children with caps, food, and supplies. To incentivize further enrollment. Now the as we build a proper government like you did in your video, the next generation will be educated, prosperous, and more integrated than their parents who are still clinging to factions and titles. And I mentioned the scientists ( their parents) are “prisoner citizens” but the scientists CAN earn full citizenship with good humanitarian research and innovations as well as willingness to be part of the outside world and learn from the commonwealth citizens. And their children in the education program with their new commonwealth and BoS school buddies? The institute children will immediately have full citizenship being as their blameless. Which further shows the parents(the scientists) their is hope in the future and that this occupying force is not malicious and that their house arrest upon threat of execution is purely a result of their work within a truly devastating, ruthless, and genocial regime. “We can’t trust you until you show us we can. And if you do we shall welcome you into the fold with open arms”.
My general would utilize all 4 factions🙂. The railroad would be our government’s subterfuge and intelligence network( it would probably take a while generation or two for the BoS to fully accept them given their views😂 but hey President Hancock can wait). The Minuteman would be the standing army/ police force. The institute would be our education and research division. Literally the best one in the post war world mind you😅( seriously why would you blow it up). And the BoS would be …well the BoS😅. They’ll never work FOR you but they might be persuaded to work alongside you especially if your goals help them more than hurt them and don’t conflict too heavily with their views. Which this does because it helps them to achieve their mission statement far more effectively with better resources and access then ever before. They would be a supplemental force like in your video as an ally BUT the next generation would be far more willing to work with us until after many generations we finally become one nation. I’d also allow them to continue to “safeguard” technology but I’d actually make sure their actually doing that and not just confiscating all the best stuff for themselves. I agree science can go too far and someone in my new government needs to keep an eye on and check that before it gets out of hand again. The BoS division of my new government would be what they actually claim to be and prevent something like the Great War or FEV, or the pre-minuteman institute from ever happening again. And with all of this in place I’d pretty much do exactly as you did I your video except now I have a huge advantage in tech and resources with the institute.

Anyways, the Institute. They're Bethesda's take on the distracted group of scientists that really don't care about anything but their own research.
In the 20th century, a trope began in sci-fi pop culture, particularly in right wing sci-fi, of groups of scientists that were scheming to take over the world. Some examples are "wings over the world" group of HG Wells or Ayn Rand's "Galt's gulch" group, or a bunch of examples in Heinlein's writings.
If you look at sci-fi from the mid 20th century you usually see the scientist portrayed as a glass wearing nerd that never looks up from his microscope or someone uninterested in raising families or engaging in any sort of community or culture.
This mainly stems from the real lives of scientists like Einstein and Haber, brilliant as they were, were crappy husbands and parents.
The overall idea is that scientists are not really empathetic to the struggles of the rest of society. They tend to care about their research more than anything else.
Overall the institute is supposed to be a group of scientists that wants nothing more than to do their research in isolation. I say overall cause the although the institute believes itself to be above petty things like scrounging or fighting for resources, they constantly do these things.
But the main thing is that most of them really don't want anything to do with surface humans. They don't want to conquer and enslave them but they also don't want to help them. I think that's something that most people don't get. The Institute's total indifference to the surface world.
Now eventually someone like Justin Ayo will come along and take a more hostile and aggresive approach to the surface world and things would change for the worse. Someone that was more sympathetic to the surface world might also take over but usually those type of people get drowned out by louder voices like justin ayo.
Now, as far as this channel, I wrote a couple years ago that my overall plan was to give each of their factions their own story line. The minutemen ending came first as I was already working on it but the others would have their turn.
By popular vote the batting order became, brotherhood, institute, and then railroad.
So, if this channel is still around (a big if) you can probably expect to see the institute story sometime in late 2025 or 2026
