4090 is definitely a beast but it's making me worried about the future because it will probably get beefier as new generation comes thus requiring bigger cases and therefore taking up more space on your motherboard.
Just water cool it. Then its 10" long tops and fits in any case. Water cooling is probably the way of the future because the power densities in things are getting so high the air cooling heatsink requirements are just getting absurd. I suspect we will see many more GPUs with integrated AIO's in the future as well as more people moving to custom loops.
@@JathraDH I wish they all offered their cards with blocks instead but AIO cards can suck it as I keep the cards for far longer (especially now that they are 3-5 times my old price) that the internal pump will last.
It's so easy to get this top tier parts in your country. You guys have access to the best of the best within your budget. And here in my country I bought a HP laptop which has i3 10th gen with 4gb ram and HDD for 500$ equivalent. I found this review after I already purchased my GPU and CPU. Long story short, I'm taking an AI class in grad school and it got my juices flowing to get back into building a rig and gaming and just high end hardware in general. I only have two components right now which will drive the rest of my build but I went with the same exact CPU and GPU you did in this build/video and I'm very glad I did just based on the feedback you provided. I can't wait to finish my build (after I recover from the shock of the GPU + CPU cost) !!!
still going strong with the i7 7700k and 1080ti. 1440p 60 FPS (medium/ high, custom settings). However i do hope to upgrade to a similar PC in this video within the next 3-6months :D
The main reason Mozilla Firefox compiles faster for the M1 Ultra isn't because it is running macOS instead of Windows (Unix-like as you put it) but because it is compiling for the simpler aarch64 instruction set instead of x86_64.

I'm a full time software architect so usually in a situation like this we would cross compile for x86 but that would probably also be unfair to the Ultra because cross compiling is generally slower than compiling for the processor's native architecture. Anyways, still worth pointing out in the graphs like you do for sure.
@@youp1tralala True, on macOS, it is surely using Clang whereas on Windows it is probably using Visual C++ but there are other ways to compile it on Windows.
Why does the msi 4090 gaming Trio have 3 PCIE adapters and the other models have 4 adapters???, I have a 5000D Airflow and an Asus Maximus Z690 Hero Eva Edition, can this gpu fit correctly? I am super excited because once my 13700k and Asus Strix Z790 motherboard arrives on Monday I am building a very similar computer setup with the same MSI 4090, the Corsair 5000X RGB case, Cooler Master PL360 Flux AIO, and the Corsair RM1000x PSU. I did purchase CableMod cables so hearing about the CPU power connectors being an issue is something I will keep my eye on. Seeing your build lets me know that everything will fit at least. Corsair sells this near identical system (2 tb instead of 3) for LESS, at $4,000, with free shipping and you don't have to waste time and cause headaches dealing with the endless building crap. AND it has a warranty.

I currently have a machine with an Nvidia RTX 3080 and an intel i7-7700K. I record Hunt: Showdown and other video games. My current plan is to try and get myself a machine with an RTX 4090 and an I9-13900K. Then I intend on using my current machine for the recording, and the new machine to run the game.

i have the i7-13700k with default settings being cooled by nzxt x73 and while gaming reaches 89c 🥲 i have the LGA1700 socket installed with good amount of thermal paste , and even screwed the screws well enough . can’t seen to figure out whats the problem.
For a Desktop PC I'd go with Intel and I'd use noise cancelling earbuds but unfortunately I'm South African so I can only afford an ultrabook. Mr Moniz if you see this, do you think I should go with the HP Envy X360 (2021) or the Asus Vivobook S14 flip (2022)

I found the 360 elite was a bit loud, and I did not like the screen, I think the Nzxt and Rog look better.... I wish Corsair cut down on the amount of cables . Their software though, is without doubt, the best!...
I got the same gpu as you, and I love it but yes the coil wine my goodness I have the non x model and just insane also I had 2mm left in my case after installing it just makes my pc look so full

Thank you for sharing. My real concern is the heat and temps and if high end SFF builds are history at this point. I would have liked some more insights to the temperatures given both the 13900 and 4090 bumps up power quite a bit. For instance is a single 280 or double rads no longer feasible with these power draws and what temps did you really get on the 360 AIO? A graph would have been appreciated.
280 will work just fine but you'll have the fans spinning louder. Underload CPU hits around 80 and GPU around 65. It stays relatively cool. Now if you enable all cores then it gets hot and hits 100.

@@I23n00b I disagree, the performance between enabling all cores and leaving it on auto is pretty much identical. Intel does a really good job at being efficient when on Auto. Minus the insane power draw but looks like AMD is doing the same thing this year. Hardware canucks did a good review and it shows the difference with MCE on and off and it was negligable. You can totally do a high end SFF build it's no different than the 12900k minus more power draw. Just make sure its a bigger SFF Build with enough room for a 280mm rad and it will be fine.
@@MatthewMoniz That makes sense. What I meant was that the TVB will cap and not accelerate to 5.8 ghz if above 70 degrees as I understand it. I therefore still remain sceptical if you can combo a 13900 and 4090 on a single or double 280 and still get full value of your hardware and have silent operation.
If you're interested in SFF builds you would need to grab something like MSI SUPRIM 4090 AIO GPUs but check out *Optimum Tech* where it's possible especially with Cooler Master's 19L ITX cases.
Nice build! You said you might bump it up to 128gb. Don't do it! You'll have to sacrifice all your xmp speed, as the best you'll be able to do with 4 sticks is the default speed of 4000mhz. Xmp only works with 2x32gb sticks. Ram, MB & cpu manufacturers will only tell you that 2 kits of 64gb is considered a mixed kit & that you can only get default 4000mhz or xmp on 2x32gb 1 kit.

The 4090’s msi x trios are known for having coil whine. Nice clean build though . Just disappointing when you spend that much on a card and whines like a bee . Ps: Apex Legends doesn’t go higher then 300 fps 😊
Great vid and good looking build! One thing I would like to address is that there is no such thing as 4 dim XMP profiles for DDR5. You mentioned in the beginning that with z690 board you couldn't get stabile system with XMP. If you used 4 dimms that might have been the reason and by upgrading to z790 wouldn't help with that. If you want to know more watch for example DDR5 overlocking video from Asus North America. If however 4 dimms are working perfectly with XMP on z790 or you didn't even use 4 dimms on z690 then it obv implicates that forementioned stuff was not the problem to begin with.

20 MM longer and I believe they said 5mm deeper. Same slot count though.

theres apps that put together different brands so you dont have to use just Corsair products, try something like SignalRGB

Ya, i know about the 4 dimm issue but I was using 2 dimms. 2 x 32 GB and I couldn't get XMP to act stable /=

1000W is perfect for this build. 850W would just get by but I went with 1000 to be safe.

The 13900K will be cooking in that case without a front mesh
Nothing is cooking... The front metal panel doesn't completely cover the front. The sides allow air to pass through. Temps are excellent.

Yup! You’ll have the bottom slot available. The middle one will have no access due to the size of the gpu

Thanks Varun! Melting power connectors never a good thing and if its serious enough it should be recalled. Hoepfully users by third party cards that don't use them
