I LOVE that you're exploring the countryside! I see a lot of travel videos about the Big Cities, but it's so nice to see other sights in England. Thank you so much for taking us along! ❤️🤗❤️
Great video guys. Just a quick correction...the church door in Stow wasn't the inspiration for hobbit doors but the doorway into the Mines of Moria. Tolkien loved, and often hiked in, the Cotswolds. His love of nature and rural England are writ large in the Hobbit and LOTR. Glad to see you enjoying your trip s!o much
There’s a place nearby called Bagendon, which has to have been the inspiration for Bag End. Tolkien loved the Cotswolds and the Malvern Hills area near the Welsh border.
I went to a catering college in Stratford upon Avon and worked in many of its restaurants and hotels. When you said all the restaurants were full at 4 to 5pm Stratford has its own eating out system. So you have Pre-Show, Normal Dining, and then sometimes after show. You often find restaurants packed out especially in the summer for pre-show dinner.
I'm really excited you seem to be Coming North. Getting Close anyway. I worked and Lived in the Cotswolds for about 5 months. Years ago 2003 I think. The Local people ( Not a Merchant Banker from London) were friendly and Lovely. I was single with a Northern English accent but polite. Really Lovely Mate .I had a great Time .Hope you Both Enjoy.
Appreciate this perspective. It's amazing how much friendlier people are outside of the big cities. Not just in the UK, but most places we've been too you kind of notice a shift in friendliness as long as you yourself are polite and friendly
Good to see you enjoying The Cotswolds. Lucky enough to call it home. Yep the villages can be very quiet but it’s lovely to live in them while the towns offer a bit more life & eating / shopping opportunities. And depending on where you live, you’re only 1.5hrs by train from London. Love your other trip blogs BTW. Keep up the travels.
Happy Birthday to you both, the Uk has lots of beautiful places throughout the island another place you may want to look up is Lavenham in Suffolk wonky medieval houses from the Tudor times, another great vlog by the way, thank you.
@ yes we have a lot of coast Colchester is the uk’s oldest town dates back to just before the romans there’s Maldon from the Viking times if your looking for coast Weymouth, Cornwall and Devon are good places and if your after beautiful but rugged coast you have the Lake District and stunning places in Scotland and Wales. Thanks for being so respectful it’s a pleasure to have you both here.
Hi! Love your England videos so far! Was in Bath and London summer of 2023 and loved it! Did a Cotswolds tour while in Bath too! Out of curiosity, who did you rent the car from? And if you don’t mind me asking, how long did you have the car and how much was it? We would love to rent a car next time and do more driving on our own. Thanks!
Hope you managed to see Lacock Villlage when you visited the Abbey. The Village was used as a location for the 1990s BBC adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE 🎉
If your planning to visit more than a couple of National Trust (or English Heritage) properties its worth buying a years membership which gives free entry as you will quickly make it back in savings.
We're just loving your English tour videos, see you had quite a big hire car for the English lanes... should have asked for a Robin Reliant 😂😂. I've just come back this evening from Stow on the Wold and drove through Morton in Marsh. It's a shame you missed the Xmas decorations, the main high street looked beautiful. Ps your English accents are hilarious 😂 😃
We got sold into the bigger. The rental agent made it seem like this would be a better car for the gas milage and up sold us thinking we were getting a deal. Originally, we had a yaris or something small like that.
Oh, I was going to mention an idea maybe for next winter. Have you guys ever been to Leavenworth Washington? It is the cutest Bavarian town here in the Pacific Northwest. There’s lots of outdoor activities in the spring and summer. It’s absolutely gorgeous. But if you’re looking for snow, Bavarian vibes, lots of shops and restaurants that you can walk to, and other fun activities, I would definitely recommend considering a visit. And if you do come this way, let me know, lol!
@@melissamoeller9608 Sara is from Washington so she has been a few times! I haven't been but it's definitely on our list when we're able to spend more time in the PNW
This seemed like a very chill but enjoyable trip. What are your favorite kinds of trips? The ones with the big adventures and fast paced cities? Ones like this? Or just exploring US towns? Sara- you’re so diplomatic as you described the areas you prefer (less residential…I like having parking and shops…)😂 Uh, yeah! Just staring at old houses gets old real quick, especially when you have to walk for ever to find parking, lol. By the way, happy birthday!🎉On a sidenote, you have the most beautiful hair. May I ask, do you use a curling iron or something else to get those beautiful waves?
Great questions. I think a good mix of both. We like being able to slow down from time to time and really get to know a place. Harder to do in a big city where we feel the need to see everything it has to offer. That said, it's nice to not have to drive an hour to do something if you get bored or get stuck going to the same restaurant all the time. We definitely prefer cities outside of the U.S. mainly because it's completely new to us. Thank you for the birthday wish. In this video just a curling iron, and I don't use a clamp. A few people have asked, which took me by surprise, but I'm going to post quick my process on our instagram stories this week if you want to check it out.
Most famous person who owns a farm in cotswolds since 2020 is jeremy clarkson who was famous for the top gear and grand tour car shows i watched over the years and childhood. his farm in cotswolds would be cool for you to visit Diddly squat farm
Sorry the fish and chips looked frozen prepared and mushy peas should never be that shade of green looks like they had food colouring added. Real mush peas are a dull grey green
You know, it popped up when we were looking at maps. Wish I'd known more about it at the time, or else we would have visited. Playing a trip by ear is fun, but sometimes you miss some cool things, too
Every town looks so cute and quaint!! Great video!!
Thanks! We're pretty obsessed with the Cotswolds.
Love watching your adventures. Glad you've been having a good time 👍🇬🇧
Thanks! Yeah, we've had an amazing time.
I LOVE that you're exploring the countryside! I see a lot of travel videos about the Big Cities, but it's so nice to see other sights in England. Thank you so much for taking us along! ❤️🤗❤️
Glad you liked it! We felt the same way. Everyone always goes to the big cities, and we do too, but there's more out there
Yay! A new video, loving this series. Merry Christmas to y'all, can't wait to see what this next year has in store for y'all.
With love from TX🫶
Merry Christmas to you, too. We're excited for the year ahead!
"it's like cosplaying that we have a home" killed me, happy belated birthday!! 🎂
We were laughing about that one too! Life of a backpack traveler I suppose. We'll get something of our own soon. Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Ah that makes so much sense as we ourselves were there for a pre-show dinner.
So lovely to see where I grew up from your perspective. Thanks for sharing! Happy Holidays everyone! ❤❤
Glad we could do it a little bit of justice. Happy holidays!

Great video 👍 The church pubs is common through out Europe as the monk's and nuns created the alcoholic beverages and sold to the congregation 😊
Learned something new. Thank you!

We did walk through the village before we left. Just didn't make the edit. Didn't realize it was in the Pride and Predjudice adaptation
I thought I recognized it!
@@TheDetourDuo It w=also featured in the Harry Potter films :)

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy them
Don't let the weather stop you from going out, it's only water and rarely that heavy, in UK you can have all four seasons in one day.

The housed are made from the honey coloured cotswold stone

The Sheep didn't Recognise your Accent so they Automatically put you in the Welsh Bracket. Which means RUN ..
hahaha
ZZ in Italian is pronounced as TS so Zizzi is pronounced Zitsi. Pizza is Pitsa.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up
Shouldn't it be tzitzi then? Anyway, nice whenever a chain restaurant is actually good!
Sorry the fish and chips looked frozen prepared and mushy peas should never be that shade of green looks like they had food colouring added. Real mush peas are a dull grey green
👍
Watch out for the drnk drive limit here, 1 pint is max, though a lot of counties prefer zero ...great vlogs guys
Thanks for the warning. We never have more than one pint any day we're driving. I made sure to show I was drinking kombucha, in the end haha.
Depends on the ABV, anything above 3.5 % ABV than limit it to half a pint to be sure one is under.
Really appreciate the nod to whose pocket you may or may not want to put money into. Well considered. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you feel the same way about those types of things.
Was just about to comment on how lovely the video has been so far, but then heard your comments about Rowling… will be unsubscribing
Okay! 👋
You should visit Diddly Squat farm while you’re over that way 🐷🐮
