Btw, did you check (with something like HWiNFO, CPU-Z or Ryzen Master) what kind of latencies you got after the upgrade? Most of Kingston's HyperX Fury modules seem to have a CAS latency of 16 when run at 3200 MHz. CL16 is nothing special, but the HyperX Fury modules that came with my computer (HP OMEN 30L GT13-1326) have a CAS latency of 22 @ 3200 MHz, which is quite poor. Usually, when you mix memory modules, they will all run at speed and latency of the slowest modules. Which is why I'm looking to ditch the original ones altogether if and when I upgrade the RAM.
I seen a few videos where they say you can't upgrade since Intel have it locked for what it comes 16gb of Ram. I have a HP OMEN - 30L Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and I ordered 32 gb of ram without knowing. Can I upgrade it? Just want to be sure before I open the package
I have the omen 40l Ryzen 7 8 core with the ddr5 Kingston fury memory. It came with 16gb of ram. I added two more 8gb sticks to bring it to 32 but now my games crash about 1.5 minutes in. Idk what the issue is. I went into the bios and changed it from default to expo profile 1 and still no change. Did I do something wrong?
It shows 3200 on that screen, but if you run cmd: wmic memorychip get speed, you'll see the new ram is only running at 2400. I've tried adding Hyper Fury 3200 8x2 sticks and it doesn't work.
I just added 2 8gb modules to my machine and it's showing 3200 on both the cmd and the omen page. 👍 The modules were the same spec but with different (non HP part numbers). No issues.
Thanks for making this. I been stressing just trying to figure out if this computer had either 2 ram slots or 4 ram slots. Sites like bestbuy would say 2. But everytime i see videos, It would appear to be 4 slots.

I even contacted HP, and they do not sell the hyper x designed for this pc, you have to upgrade all of it if using off the shelf. I have seen several reviews on this pc that state the same? In my 30l there are two factory installed HP37D4U1S8ME-16XR DIMMs, which are DDR4-3200 modules of Kingston's HyperX Fury RGB line, but what is the corresponding module with a Kingston part number, I don't know. Maybe the HX432C16FB4A/16, which is their HyperX Fury RGB 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16 module, but I'm not 100% sure.

There seems to be a consensus in the comments that even original HP HyperX Fury paired with aftermarket Kingston HyperX Fury of the same specs doesn't necessarily play well together. I guess that's why they tell to match part numbers, not specs, and buy kits that are tested to work together. Beats me, maybe the author of this video just got really lucky.

It might be because of the motherboard. Im not really sure but hp might have locked the motherboard to only having up to 64GB ram and maybe that's y it can't go up. I don't really know much but that's one way u can think of
The Hana motherboard used in your OMEN 30L only supports 8GB and 16GB memory modules, and since it has 4 memory slots, 4 x 16GB results in a maximum of 64GB. I agree that 128GB would be overkill for most people, but even if you wanted just 64GB, it might have been desirable to achieve this using a 2 x 32GB kit. Hana is not a quad channel motherboard (nor does Ryzen 5000 support it), and you don't need more than two modules to benefit from dual channel, whereas having four memory modules puts heavier load on CPU's memory controller. Alas, 64GB with just two modules is not possible with the Hana motherboard. However, to make things more confusing, memory modules can be single rank or dual rank, and I'm not talking about dual channel here. If you have two single rank modules vs four single rank modules, the latter configuration might yield some performance benefits, because when using four single rank modules on a dual channel motherboard, the memory acts as dual rank. What happens if I'm getting the reverse? It shows 2400 inside of task manager but if I run that command in cmd then all 4 show 3200.
