Haven't stress tested anything or overclocked but very happy so far. Interestingly the RAM placement seems to be in the wrong or less commonly recommended slots. Usually it's slot 2 and 4 rather than 1 and 2 for two sticks in dual channel.
Just a heads up, I have this PC with the 3080 gpu and I9 cpu... and it runs great... until it overheats. Any game that pushes the cpu to work hard, will over heat it and the pc will shut down . And its due to the single fan 120mm AIO... Im currently looking into getting a larger case that will fit a AIO 360mm, which will take care of that issue.
so far I am really enjoying it! my temps sit around 70C without any mods. It is important to know that I have my AC on pretty much 24/7 in my home. Ambient room temps will play a big role in your overall temps.
Hey Steven thanks for the video I just watched it and didn't know before you said it that this PC has these issues. Dark Power Pro 12 750W NZXT Kraken X53 watercooling (two fans) MSI RTX 3060 Gaming X 12G New OMEN would be: HP Omen GT13-1988nz AMD Ryzen 9 5900X NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 2x 16GB 3200mhz RAM (maybe I'll keep my 3600mhz ones because of the ryzen) (watercooled, but looks like only 1 fan too, like yours) Also I'll keep my samsung 980 pro 1TB m.2 ssd And I actually wanted to keep my be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 750W because it's "platinum", but, the OMEN will have a 750W platinum too, I don't know which to keep (: OMEN has cooler master right? If cooler master I'll maybe keep my be quiet! one I'm worried about the fan-noise since you mentioned it because I like it to be as silent as possible :/ I wanted to upgrade from 3060 to 3080 to have more "power", so it doesn't get as loud when playing - You think the Ryzen 9 5900X would make it even louder than your intel version?
The problem with the 30L is that it tries to cool itself with basically only one fan. So the moment you try and hit high frame rates especially at 1440p it is going to have to kick up and be very loud. There are ways to squeeze in fans into the case but honestly your best shot is to move all of the insides of the omen into a better case sadly.
I need Help. My HP Omen 30L - GT13 - 1174 recently stopped turning on and I highly suspect is the PSU that needs replacement. I checked the model of the PSU and its a cooler master and it has the following information: Hp Post, No. L8409 - 001 Now when I check on the specific model no specific search appears on Google so I can't get my hands on that specific model. That said since I am not familiar with the gaming PC repair and replacement process I just want to know What other model can be compatible with this specific machine? Atleast one that is 550w or higher but that can be compatible with that specific model of HP Omen 30L. For whoever that wants to help me with giving me a model thanks in advance 💜❤️.

So my question is on a scale of 1-10 how good does this pc perform in terms of thermal throttling out of the box, with 10 being best and 1 being worst.
This is one im looking at, but my cpu is i9-10850k. Same gpu. Im hoping this is worth it considering im upgrading from a laptop ive had for years. Gtx 1060 6gbm, i7-6700hq, 16gb ram. Etc etc ya get the point lol. Hows the temps, performance on different graphical settings, rtx, vr?
I would highly advise against the i9 in this case. From what I have hear the i9 overheats the case immensely especially with the 3080 or 3090. With my i7 under decent loads it regularly hits 78 C due to the ventalation being fairly poor. Performance is awesome though! Haha
@@StevenMakesVids is there any way to improve airflow? To be frank, im the type of person who does not care what the case looks like, i juse want power and performance. But a budget is an issue or i wouldve built my own by now. But scalpers ruined that for me same as it did for others.
@@Rin_Nya762 to be fair the case is beautiful, adding more fans is much more of a hassle than a normal case. All areas where you think fans should go are blocked off by the frame

it says at my dealer that the CPU is water-cooled, is yours does this help with the heat accumulation?
Yes my CPU is liquid cooled and everything stays at fairly nice temps but since there is only 1 big fan it does get quite loud
Nice video.. Definitely interested in the mining you did/how/how you got started.

Good video! Helped me decide to go for a similar one with AMD Ryzen 5800X and RTX 3080. Seems to be running pretty decent without much overheating. I adde another 32GB RAM. Thanks.

I got his pc with the core i9 10850k and RTX3080 and put it in a new case with a Tuf Gaming Mobo and 240mm CPU AIO. HIGHLY RECOMENDED. Also EKWB has waterworks for HPs GPUs now.
Nice, the temps and noise difference must be night and day. What case by the way?
great review thanks !!
Thanks for that review! I have same machine and I’ve notice your gpu temp is around 70 c while Mine is around 80c in cool room. Any settings recommendation ?
What applications are you running that get you to 80c? And what is the ambient temperature of your room?
i bought the same pc with the ryzen 7 5800x and rtx 3080 what i would recommend is upgrade the case. the cases airflow is insanely bad in my opinion and also replace the 120m aio it comes with and replace it with a better cooler the aio it comes with just isnt enough to cool the cpu and when i play games that are demanding i have to undervolt the cpu so that it doesnt run to 90c+. i personally havent done it yet but im planning too soon
does the one u show in this vid have liquid cooling as well or just those 2 fans?
The cpu is liquid cooled on my model
Your enthusiasm is contagious. lets get into it... i guess ;)
Good Video , Thank You for Sharing . I am wondering how to Upgrade RAM on the Omen's , I have the 25L and in the Gaming Hub there is no option to Adjust the Speeds of the RAM . Do You have any Suggestions on what I could do to Upgrade using a new 32gig RAM set , and be able to get the 3200 speeds that the Omen was Purchased running at ? I've heard the I-9 version gets really loud and hot. Would it be smart to maybe buy the I-7 version? Would that help with the thermal issues?
I haven't really had any thermal issues but the PC could definitely be a cooler and quieter. I also have not had any performance issues with the I7 in my tasks!

Does this thing have working hdmi port in the back?
I just had a bac luck buying a computer only to find out that the two HDMI ports were both plugged shut. although strangely it was advertised as 1 hdmi port.
So I decided to remove the plugs after some struggle. When I plugged that hdmi cable in both, nothing was transmissted to the monitor. I had to send to pile of garbage back to Amazon.
I noticed this machine has one hdmi and few dp ports.
yes HDMI port does in fact work
@@StevenMakesVids I don't think my post is that clear. The machine I bought that hdmi port did not work I sent back, it was an Acer and of course it was much cheaper.
Yesterday I ordered this machine (Omen 30L) with Intell i9, 32GB ram, 5.1 Hz processor and crossing my fingers. Certainly not cheap. 🙂
Hi, I am planning to get this model in Japan. I noticed you mentioned about temp and fan noise for cooling. I just wonder, when you are going ALL MAXED OUT mode, what is the average high temp (I use Celcius metric)???
Does not go above 80C while I max it out👍
Hey so do you notice that the screen is blurry? Like certain images and icons etc doesn’t render all the way, but most my games look great. I’m almost wondering if it’s not using the graphics card for google and the desktop so I’m just getting sub par images.
Hmmm I haven't noticed anything like that. Might benworth it to reinstall windows if that problem persists
Hi Steven, just got mine today from bbuy but with the AMD ryzen 7 5800x. I’m not a gamer ,I just bought it as my own personal PC and to mine a bit on the side. I dont know where to start mining, can you point me in the right direction? Great informative video BTW.

Im pretty sure the gpu in these are LHR, meaning lite hash rate. You wont be able to mine with it

Nice thing, eo u know how to get the filter out of it? On th bottom of the case theres a filter but idk how to get it out because of the power supply.
My PC is kind of clean instead of my old one :)
So my dogs hair arent a problem :)
But my cables for the second hdd arent ready as on ur omen.
Mine was build badly ill think because every ram slot was open and my 3080 was not complete in pcie slot.
For 2000€ bad quality :( But a good prebuild with some good components :)
just a quick question. I currently have a HP Omen 3060 and 5600g processor. Can I upgrade to the 3080 is it possible or do I need to swap out the motherboard?
Should be able to pop and swap
Did you ever upgrade your ram? How did that go?
Haven't had the time but this is my next upgrade for sure!
Try to undervolt the cpu and it’ll stop the fans from maxing out
Mine is super loud and I have no clue how to make it quieter when playing games
That's kind of the biggest fault of this PC. There is only one intake and one exhaust fan. There are ways to squeeze more fans in there though
Bought the RTX 3080 with i7-11700K for just under 2000€, which feels like a steal. I hope it wont run too hot tho.
Ay let me know when you get it pls
@@Benjamin05W Got it today. With my monitor I'm restricted to 1080p gaming so can't speak for 1440p or 4K but I was running 140+ fps ULTRA on three games I tested: PUBG, Raft and Halo Infinite. My temperatures were cool and the pc very quiet (no exact numbers). Played around for 1-2 hours with these games just trying them out. Is there no way to add an additional fan in the front of the case like the 40L & 45L cases?
I tried to do this I ordered 2 more fans just like the front fan and planned on cutting 2 holes with a hole saw but the hole saw I ordered wasn’t actually strong enough

What is the MOBO? Can´t find anywhere....having a look but those pre-built always have a shitty mobo...
It's an HP OEM MOBO
@@StevenMakesVids ooooh, ok...om out :D
I got a brand new one for 950 bucks pretty insane steal!
Interestingly the RAM placement seems to be in the wrong or less commonly recommended slots. Usually it's slot 2 and 4 rather than 1 and 2 for two sticks in dual channel.
nope it is deffring from board to board. it is mostly ryzen that want it in 2 - 4 for best performance
You should buy a 3 ft USB C extension cable you could leave plugged in you could lay on your desk or zip tie to the top.
Was thinking of getting a USB dock like this honestly!
Heard this was an issue with the omens that have an i9
thanks man!
No problem thank you for stopping by!
Does the BIOS support XMP?
Where do i found the cmos?
How is it holding up? temperatures while gaming?
so far I am really enjoying it! my temps sit around 70C without any mods. It is important to know that I have my AC on pretty much 24/7 in my home. Ambient room temps will play a big role in your overall temps.
@@StevenMakesVids Thanks, have my eyes on used with 5800x 3080 for 1300 EU
Hey Steven thanks for the video I just watched it and didn't know before you said it that this PC has these issues.
I'm maybe upgrading from my self-built one to the OMEN 30L with similar stuff inside like you have, I want to upgrade because I need a better graphics card for my new pc monitor (Samsung Odyssey G9 49" 240hz) since my rtx 3060 gets very loud when gaming even on windowed pc gaming (not fullscreen) on low settings
Old one:
be quiet pure base 500dx
2x 16GB 3600mhz RAM
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi
be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 750W
NZXT Kraken X53 watercooling (two fans)
MSI RTX 3060 Gaming X 12G
New OMEN would be:
HP Omen GT13-1988nz
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
2x 16GB 3200mhz RAM (maybe I'll keep my 3600mhz ones because of the ryzen)
(watercooled, but looks like only 1 fan too, like yours)
Also I'll keep my samsung 980 pro 1TB m.2 ssd
And I actually wanted to keep my be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 750W because it's "platinum", but, the OMEN will have a 750W platinum too, I don't know which to keep (: OMEN has cooler master right? If cooler master I'll maybe keep my be quiet! one
I'm worried about the fan-noise since you mentioned it because I like it to be as silent as possible :/ I wanted to upgrade from 3060 to 3080 to have more "power", so it doesn't get as loud when playing - You think the Ryzen 9 5900X would make it even louder than your intel version?
The problem with the 30L is that it tries to cool itself with basically only one fan. So the moment you try and hit high frame rates especially at 1440p it is going to have to kick up and be very loud. There are ways to squeeze in fans into the case but honestly your best shot is to move all of the insides of the omen into a better case sadly.
I need Help. My HP Omen 30L - GT13 - 1174 recently stopped turning on and I highly suspect is the PSU that needs replacement.
I checked the model of the PSU and its a cooler master and it has the following information:
Hp Post,
No. L8409 - 001
Now when I check on the specific model no specific search appears on Google so I can't get my hands on that specific model.
That said since I am not familiar with the gaming PC repair and replacement process
I just want to know
What other model can be compatible with this specific machine?
Atleast one that is 550w or higher but that can be compatible with that specific model of HP Omen 30L.
For whoever that wants to help me with giving me a model thanks in advance 💜❤️.

About a month, but how much you make is very dependent on the price of ETH and its gas fees.

@@StevenMakesVids hmm, i guess im lucky my dad tought me how to "edit" things like this. Lol.
