I'm so thankful for where Instagram has gotten me - and even more thankful for the realizations I had in this video. The only path forward is through, and Im' excited to do just that. Thanks for being here!
I don’t know why this video doesn’t have thousands of views. It depicts the reality of social media and as a person trying to grow on Insta recently this was truly eye opening. I also found myself immersed in your video. Your tone, pacing, and clear points kept me watching through the video. Keep it up man
BOOM BOOM BOOM! Thanks sean. Glad the algorithm put you on my YT feed. The more we get, the more we think we “need”. Let’s not forget that we are all already enough. This is what I’ve been going through the last year as well. Thanks for sharing and putting it into words.
Amazing. Very insightful as I am also starting my content creation journey. I've been following you ever since the time when we were all crazy about cardistry. You are an amazinng inspiration for me. Thank you.
Yes, I think social media is another distorted reality (and many other things too). I really like your videos cause they make me “wake up” from scrolling, see the reality and think about what I’m doing with my time. Thanks a lot!
Thanks Sean for your videos. Here and on IG, you’ve really helped keep things in perspective and reminded me of what’s important in life. You’re doing great work. 👍
Your video popped up for me at the most perfect time. I'm going to save this link and watch whenever I'm getting frustrated with Instagram. Thank you so much, amazing work!
Thank you so much Saun! I think you're genuinely one of the few creators who really want to shine a light on these dark times. Keep it up, you're doing a great job ❤
I love your video, it got me motivated to create more, because my goal is to help others not more viewers. And probably you are right, if even one person finds my message helpful it's already great.
First. I appreciate what you bring to the table. I am a small channel. Simply an older human learning to skateboard and sharing it. I get just as many videos now at 3500 subs than I did at 500 subs. View time has died with the rise of tictoc. But I will not change or stop what I am doing. I think long content is needed because of the connection with those that chose to have it. Plus I will not monetize my skateboard channel, so I can do it more freely. I stopped making YT Shorts because I refuse to feed the goldfish.
That's some great advice. Indeed, making content in order to get views per se is tricky. In the long term it's mostly unsustainable. I believe in building a communication that revolves around a product. A content that truly helps people and at the same time attracts potential buyers. Going viral is just a bonus, it's good for branding and a bit of authority as well. But the true goal is to solve people's problems, captivate valuable users and build an engaged audience that wants to learn from you more and more. This way, selling becomes natural and you get a long term revenue stream.
Love your content, Sean. It inspired me to take a more mindful approach into how I use my phone - using it as a tool rather than a way to avoid eye contact and wiping 😅 This video especially highlights some of the things that I absolutely hate about influencer culture - e.g. the people who use these platforms to try and claim their 15 seconds of fame; causing disruptions to the public and pulling dangerous pranks. This might be the most boomer thing I'll ever say, but it's true. And this isn't to disregard creators who have a passion for creating content that informs and helps others - or even to entertain. Keep doing you, Sean.
It's very nice of you to share your perspective on this ! I love your work ❤ To share some of my story : As an artist, I tried several times to share my art on IG, and this idea of "followers = success" as always crushed my energy and ambition to share... even worse, it kept me from doing what I loved, drawing/painting/explore art in general... all of that because I thought that I needed to share it and that the likes numbers would validate it or not I know I'm not the only artist who struggled with that feeling... So what I did is that I stopped social media, and focused on working my skills without anyone to like it or not 2 and half years later I'm a professionnal artist, living from art in animation industry, excatly where I wanted to be 🙏🏻 I may even feel confident about sharing on social media again, if I do, I will definetly be as sincere as I can do, not trying to grow a huge communty or having milion of views, but just trying to be happy in the process and sharing the things I love with some who might like it too ! Thanks for that video, It's a beautiful reminder of what's important ! Keep up with the great work 🌟 Bests
Selfless instead of selffish, I like this a lot

My single favorite creator! loved this

I'm curious about something, do you prepare a scrip before shooting the video and memorize it or do you Improvise?
